- Q: I recently had my oil change done about 2 weeks ago. From yesterday my car running great to waking up this morning and my car boggling to turn on with a few sensors on my dashboard. The sensors say, brake, it shoes a car lifted, it also shows engine service soon and a triangle with an arrow around it. What can be the problem?
- triangle is the ASC, automatic stability control. it shoes a car lifted ??? ya lost me on that grammar. $3,000 should cover everything, brake pads, brake pad sensors, a MAF sensor, a couple of computers, and maybe a wheel speed sensor or two. Change that make that $5000 if you take it to the stealership.
- Q: If i were to lift a classic car. 1 do you do this by putting the car on a truck frame? what truck frame should i use. i heard that the blazers have a very simular wheel base, verify anyone?2 is there anyway i could register it after wrds when its all over. i mean like is there hope it could be street legal3 did you do this? see it in person or just a car and truck guy?
- The easies way to do it is by putting the body on a truck frame. some things to consider when selecting vehicle are total length(you need a frame close to the length of the original), is the wheelbase close?(otherwise you will either have to cut fenders or move axles), where are the body mounts in relation to the car?(new ones will have to be welded in most cases) is the width of the frame close?( you don't want a frame wider than the car) Yes it is possible to register afterwards. the dmv will want the title from both vehicles and a list of all parts and expenses so they can calculate a value for registration expenses. so save reciepts. last they will do a complete safety inspection.(horn, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, mudflaps if needed, seatbelts, parking brake.) I have seen it personally and am also a mechanic. it will be a serious undertaking but it is completely possible
- Q: I have a pair of Double Diamond subframe connectors for my 02 Trans Am and I need to get them welded onto the underbody of the car. Do muffler shops perform these types of services?. Also the car lift used has to be a drive on lift, NOT a frame off lift- where all 4 tires are hanging and the car if supported from the center.
- could be better of finding a race shop to do it for you. i have allways done my own but supporting the car at all four corners on jack stands. laying on your back and welding sucks

- I have removed only one. We unbolted the bolts to the cylinder base and used a backhoe to lift it up. Not bad toke about two hours to remove the cruddy bolts. A large fork lift should work as well i think. Be careful , That thing is HEAVY.

- I have a 1970 Chevy nova and you have to do that I wish all cars have that because it don't make a different what side the gas pump is on. it also give the car a cleaner look by being no door on the side of you body. I was told it was a safety issue because if someone wrecks in the back of your car the tank can blow up.
