Q: belt removal mercury cruiser water pump?: The pump bracket pivots that allows the belt to be removed. I've seen a few where the alternator belt is over the top of the water pump belt, so you have to remove it first. Actually a pretty easy job.

Q: how much is it to replace timing belt and water pump on a Chrysler voyager 2002?????: Timing belt can be be anywhere from $200 to $400,but make sure a pro does it beaches if it's put on wrong and off time it can mess up your engine and that would be in the thous..this happened to me.. Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX and i recently took it in to have its timing belt and water pump replaced. Since then, I have noticed a change in the cars performance. I have lost both gas mileage and power since i took my car in. The maintenance supposedly took the dealer twelve hours to complete which seemed a little odd to me. Do you think this is linked? I just remember getting a lot more miles to a tank of gas, and my car was about the same speed as a friend of mine's who now smokes me. Thank You.: I wouldn't take it back there. Get an independent shop to look at it probably just an o2 sensor or emissions stuff Tell em what happened but point any blame just tell em you want an independent 2nd opinion The timing belt is buried in the block so it is on the long side as far as hours go all the front engine accessories have to come off water pump I hope they didn't double dip you since they had to take off the water pump anyway. Allot of shops try to get away with this charge you hours that weren't actually spent its dishonest but I don't know what the legalities are. Anyway get a second opinion. The poor mileage is probably unrelated check your air filter is about the only owner level thing you can do changing the spark plugs is pretty easy. Its a 97 so it probably needs new ones if it hasn't been done. I would recommend having the fuel filter changed that can effect mileage. Have the shop plug in a scan code reader, they will probably do this first without having to mention it.

Q: here is the problem with my water pump control switch settings. the water is being used, runs dry and stays off for sometimes 3 minutes or so.i realize the springs control the cut in and cut out. do i need to make the spring more compressed to make the pump come on sooner? or do i need to make the spring looser to make the switch come on sooner?when i read/hear about adjusting the cut in. the answers seem vague because i do not know the perspecitve of the spring.does compressing the spring make the swith flip easier? or does compressing the spring make the switch harder to flip on?i installed a new 30/50 switch today. My air tank was at 50 or so PSI. but i dropped it to about 30. is the goeal to make the entire full system 50 pounds? because after my pump cycles i get about 70 psi!!!: The problem lies with the new 30/50 switch. With Your pressure tank empty of water, set the air pressure at 28psi. What is happening is when the water pressure drops below about 45 psi - the air pressure (50psi) on the bladder is forcing the water out rapidly. Then the pump has to work like cracy to overcome that bladder pressure! Easy Fix. Make sure the tank has no water in it.

Q: We had a leak in our car and took it to get checked out. They said it is the water pump. Also that it would be around $650 to replace. I know nothing about cars. Is this necessary? and does the cost sound about right? We are going on a 3 hour trip one way this weekend.
