- Whether frozen water pump or cooling water pump, including the boiler with the water pump, as long as it is used for replenishment, are called water pump. Normally, the pump works intermittently.
- Q: I have taken off the fan, and radiator, and ect, and i'm down to this silver circle thing-the fan clutch i believe and black circualr piece that connects to the actual water pump. I need help getting the quot;fan clutchoff. I tried using a wrench and wrenching on this peice between that and the black piece, but i cant stop the black piece from moving. I tried this site called pelican or w.e, but they dont tell u how to do that. I'm stuck, plz help!
- You need a viscous cooling fan spanner (32mm) and something to hold the water pump still. The cooling fan has a left hand thread by the way and will need a sharp blow with a rubber mallet to shift it. BMW have special tools for this job which are 11 5 030 and 11 5 040. Viscous cooling fan spanners are available in shops and I dare say you can find or make something to brace the water pump bolts. A large screwdriver or breaker bar have been known to work. Whichever method you use watch your knuckles!
- Q: I just bought a house a little more then a month ago and just received my first electric bill and it's OUTRAGEOUS!! I have a feeling my electric pump is doing most of my water heating which I found out it is (currently it's on 24 hours a day .. I didn't know). - OK, well your question is a bit confusing and I am not sure if it is because you don't understand how your system works. Your hartell pump pumps water. It does not produce heat. Your water heater heats water. It is a backup to your solar panel system. If on the other hand you have a heat pump as a back up source of heat this could be an entirely different matter and you are best at providing a model number which should be stamped on the part. We need to start again. Is your system for solar hot water or for general heating? Is it a system in a cold climate where freezing is an issue. Is it a pump down system or a system that circulates antifreeze in the solar loop. The reason all this is significant is that if you are paying a lot in electricity then something is not working. The first question has to be is it a design problem, a mechanical problem or an operational problem. You may need more hot water storage or more solar panels, you may need to replace parts, or you may simply need to turn the right valves (This would be the case where you have a grounding loop to keep the solar panels from overheating in the summer.)

- We have a Camry Conquest V6 1998 model and all these are similar in desing and yes it is recomened as most of the items removed to replace timing belt also will need to be removed if water pump fails and ta a cost of about $900 AUD each time best to replace together for an extra $100 or so. We usualy replace all the following every 100.000 kilometers: Timing belt kits including all pullies, Water pump, Drive belts (The ones for air cond and generator) and becuase half the motor has to be dismantled to reple the spark plugs we also do these as well. All together it cost about $1200.00 AUD to do them all together well worth it and saves you about $1000.00 in servicing in long run. Hope this is helpfull. Note our cars has just turned on to 388.000 kilometers with out missing a beat also we change oil and fileter and service it as required by the service book but then again it never has broken down or given us problems. Its better than buying new car everytime the blow up du to no proper servicing. :)

- In this case, first check the frequency of the pump in the acceleration and deceleration time, to see how many seconds, 7.5KW10 seconds or so, 11KW 10 to 15 seconds, to see whether the peak water supply, low voltage and so on! Hope to be of some help to you!
- Q: I have a Honda Accord, and last week I replaced the Radiotor, due to a leak. This week the Water pump broke, it was making a ver loud noise and major leak, when I opened the rad, basically all the fluid was drained.Do you think the two are related? or do you think when the Rad was replaced it was not done properly which caused the water pump to break?Thanks.
- Yes they are related. First why did you replace the radiator if their was a hole in it it could have drained out most of the fluid and burned up the pump.

- In a water pump, you have what is called an impeller= the part that you can not see. The other side is the drive pulley in between them is a bearing. This is the source of your noise. Replacing the water pump will make the noise go away. As for the belt, If this is a timing belt driven pump, yes replace the belt. If this is a serpentine accessories belt, look at the condition, any cracks, fraying or obvious damage. use your own good judgement. Suggest you also replace the thermostat, this is a good preventative maintenance practise. Refill the cooling system with a 50/50 mix of water and coolant. Good Luck
