- Q: I do pump sales ~ only to enter the line soon ~ often asked how many levels of motor? I can't recognize myself! So ask for advice here
- You can also use the motor speed divided by 50, equal to the motor series.
- Q: Ok, if my intake manifold wasnt mess up and it could be my water pump would I still smell a syrup odor and WHY would it be leaking green antifreeze? especially when the antifreeze I use is orange?
- You could have a leak in your heater Hose or Bad Water Pump, Small hole in rad. Do you notice as increase in Temp? Need more info i.e. How old is the car, How hot is it getting etc.
- Q: how do you check the water pump? We started the engine with water running through the bunny ears and no water is running out.
- Visually is the only way to check it. The water pump is located at the top of the lower unit. The lower unit has to come off to access the water pump. It's a fairly basic project for an enthusiastic DIYer with basic tools and a service manual. Once the L/U comes off, might as well install a new impeller, given the time effort to drop the L/U, not much sense re-installing a used one. first, remove the cowl and check the tell-tale outlet for a blockage.
- Q: Here is the deal...*Van over heats*Blows Cold quot;heatquot;*Added coolant and water (nothing happened)*Started van, felt the hoses (no h2o flowing thru)I really think my water pump is out, but I am not sure. Does this sound like my water pump. If so, I plan on changing it myself, how do i find step by step instructions to do so.... I have never done it before, but I cant afford to take it to a mechanic! Thanks for your help!
- not water pump..its thermostate....why do u think pump?
- Q: I want to build a portable, working steam room display for trade shows. I need to feed water from a storage tank to a steam generator when it's called for. How can I do this? Is there a type of water pump that would work for this?
- Be careful what you buy. Most aquarium pumps are AIR pumps. Why not just use a siphon? As long as the storage tank is higher than the generator it will work. Get a hose or plastic tubing of the size you need, put one end in the tank. Suck on the tubing to start flow. To stop flow just pinch off the pipe or raise the spout above the water level. you might even install a valve if the tubing is large enough.
- Q: I'm only 18 and don't know much about cars, but my car was overheating so me and my boyfriend brought it to a mechanic. They told me it needs a new timing belt and water pump and that alone would be like 1450.. From my research that sounds like bullshit. By the way I drive a 2000 neon, is it THAT hard to work on, or am I being ripped off?
- WAY too much for that job on that car. I'm not sure what they think they're fixing. zxc090
- Q: The pond is 10' long x 2' wide x 1' deep. The pump is at one end and water is raised 1' to a buried garden hose that is maybe 12' long and then at the end it goes up 2' to release the water over some rocks. I had a 330 gph pump that worked well but died. That size has been discontinued. Go smaller or bigger? DON
- Hi Don, In my point of view it depend on the final effect that you want to create. If you are in the mood of water theraphy, mean that you like to the sound of the water fall, you may want to consider a pump size that a bit higher than your previous ones, and vice versa. In a nutshell you should be able to determine the effect of the waterfall you need since you already have your previous old pump running before. This should be your best guideline to check the size of your new pump needs. There is a bit of extra caution needed if you are thinking of using a bigger size of pump, you should ensure that the pump are not sucking to fast of the water. If this is the case you might be end up having your pond drain half tank. You can get the circle time for the water flow base on the pump size from the catalog.I'm sure your hardware guy are gladly assist you in understanding the matrix conversion Pond size over the pump size, since I can't explain in detail here about the graph reading. But in most cases I just relatively using the first option of comparing the old pump size with the new one. Hope that help. Fazla
- Q: I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider that I'm pretty sure needs a new water pump. It is still under warranty for another 1000 miles, but the nearest dealer is over 200 miles away, and Mitsubishi says they won't reimburse for work done at a non-Mitsubishi Dealer. I'm trying to figure out if the cost of just paying someone to have it done here in town versus having towed 200 miles and then driving it back, plus the lost cost of missed work.By the way my Mitsubishi Roadside Assistance will tow it to the nearest dealer for free, but last time I did that it was barely worth the hassle of dealing with their very poor contract towers.
- Have you asked the dealer to send you the part at least? Call Mitsubishi and ask it that would be possible, you never know. You could send in the old pump and possibly get compensation. Keep your bills. Discuss it with them. Your dealer should provide you with the area Mitsubishi representatives contact information. The prices for those can be expensive. Ask the dealer, service dept, for the labour, how many hrs. to change the pump. They should tell you. Also for the cost of the pump. Add the two together and you have your ans. Join CAA, or AAA, get a gold card, wait two days for the card's towing to take effect, then have it towed in on the card. Done all the time. Or if you have a relative with a Gold card they can have it towed in as long as they are with the car with their card when the tow truck comes.
- Q: I have a four cylinder ranger with manual transmission. The top pulley was making a squeaking sound the other day and stopping and going. The car stalled out so I had to give it gas for about a minute, and this has happened several more times in the past week. And the car is making a somewhat loud rumbling/clanking noise, which I'm guessing is the bearings on the water pump. So my question is how much will a new water pump cost, I've seen prices quoted on here from $150-$700. Also, it was in the mechanic the other week and I asked him to check the ac compressor and he said it was fine. Thanks
- Why not call your mechanic for an estimate? He's (or she's) already familiar with your vehicle. Also, they may determine that it's something other than you water pump.
