- carpet fresh isn't really good around pets. since it is such a fine powder they can easily breathe it in and cause problems. it is also loaded with chemicals. if you feel the need to do something like that, take him out of the room, sprinkle on baking soda, let it sit for 15 minutes and vacuum it up. it could also be the cleaner you use in the cage. he could be allergic to either one. you can't keep the dog up off the carpet. dogs have legs for a reason and need to walk, even cute little dogs.

- Well it is a tough and time consuming job. You can either go to home depot or hire the professional carpet cleaners. Not all services charges same amount. Their service is satisfactory enough.

- Hi there, I've been an interior designer for 19 years now and have used area rugs over other rugs many times. The previous poster was correct in saying it can discolor the surface rug. Mainly due to natural wear and fading. If you still choose to use another rug over your existing rug, they do make rug over rug pads. You will definitely want to use one of these (they sort of look like thick felt pads) to keep your area rug from shifting and to protect your other rug. As far as what type to use, the best thing to do to find what size to use is to measure your table with the chairs pulled out as they would be if you went to leave the table. Make sure the chairs fit over the area rug without going over the edge. This can be not only cumbersome, but can cause the chairs to tip over when sliding them back. If you are wondering about shape, it's really a personal preference, but I would ask what is needed in the room? Do you have a very geometric, modern look or traditional? Rugs come in round, oval, square and rectangle shapes. It's hard to say without seeing the table or room,honestly. If you are looking to use a synthetic rug, choose one that is olefin. It's the most stain resistant. Olefin cannot accept stains, like some synthetic materials. I personally love wool rugs though. They are very durable, and forgiving and wear like steel. I've found that using Spot Shot cleaner as needed to be the best also. I've removed many oil stains, wine etc. from carpets successfully with this GREAT product. Good luck! - Personally, I'd have her in a rug right now. I'm in Scotland and both mine are in middleweights - its dropping to near 0 degrees at night already and I wake up to frost. When she gets clipped she MUST have some form of rug on with weight in it unless its gorgeous weather - when you take away their coat its like taking away our clothes and expecting us to stand in the cold - we can't heat ourselves up and so we get cold very quickly. This is what I said for another answer. Weather for no rugs / fly rugs - HOT weather with no / little breeze. Weather for a rainsheet - Rain but no wind. Weather for a lightweight - Rain with wind, or just wind. Weather for a mediumweight - Rain with a lot of wind, just wind or cold temperatures (basically, as I don't feel the cold, the minute I need to be putting on a jacket is mediumweight weather) Weather for a heavyweight - The coldest it gets. Snow. Below freezing temperatures. Last year in the worst of it I did put a heavyweight stable rug under a heavyweight turnout, it got that cold.
