Q: is it easier to vacuum the industrial carpet than regular carpet. I plan to replace my regular carpet with industrail, because it is hard to push the vacuum and we have lots of dust. thanks.
I had industrial carpet (white) in my home and loved it. It was very thick and plush and cleaning was no problem and vacuuming was very easy. I would definitely recommend it. But the best is hardwood floors. Industrial carpeting is expensive and I can get bamboo (50 year guarantee) for $2.12 a square foot at Costco. Bamboo is a sustainable resource, also. I love it and I have six animals in the house.
Q: I am just wondering in the 30's 40'5 and 50's how they cleaned carpets in there house. I know at some point the vacuum cleaner was invented but for actual carpet cleaning (with a carpet cleaner) how did they clean the carpet. I am not talking about spot cleaning either but all over carpet cleanings. Thankss
My great Aunt and great grandmother would sweep the floors well and then lay damp newspaper on the rug. I always thought it was weird but newspaper stuffed in sneakers take the odor out so maybe this was the purpose of the newspaper. If the rug could be put over the clothes line this was done and then beaten with a rug beater. You may have seen a rug beater in an antique shop and it is an heavy piece of wire mounted on a handle that would look like a tennis racket without the strings. A tennis racket could sub for a rug beater.
Q: We arelooking to replace carpeting, empire came out today and quoted $34.00 per yard for Nuvo(?) carpet brand...this ncludes padding, installing, ripping and hauling old one, and tax. Is this a good value, ok value or expensive value. can i get better deals elsewhere in MN.
I don't know if this is an answerable question. I just replaced carpet in my living room, dining room and hall. I went to Home Depot. I got to look at hundreds of different brands/quality carpet and to choose regular or super padding. The store associate was really helpful in explaining about carpet and which features mean what as far as quality. I ended up paying about what you were quoted for all the same services. I guess it just depends on whether this Nuvo(?) brand is good quality or not. I've not heard of it.....it could be the cadillac of carpets!
Q: Hi! Were purchasing new carpet for our mobile home. They sell a pad to for an extra cost. Never bought carpet before. Is the pad something we really need? Thank you
THE BETTER THE PAD, THE BETTER WEAR YOU WILL GET OUT OF YOUR CARPET. I WOULD NOT SUGGUEST PUTTING DOWN ANYTHIS LESS THAN A 6 LB PAD. AND SINCE YOU'RE BUYING NEW CARPET, YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU VACUUM WELL AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK... MORE WITH KIDS OR PETS. WATCH THE WAY THE INSTALLERS ROLL OUT THE CARPET, YOU ALWAYS WANT TO VACUUM WITH THE LENGHT OF THE CARPET, NOT THE WIDTH. THIE ALLOWS THE FIBERS TO BE MOVED BACK ANF FORTH TO OPEN UP AND ALLOW AS MUCH SOIL AS POSSIBLE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CARPET. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD VACUUM ALSO, ONE WITH A BEATER BAR.
Q: Does the plastic carpet belong to the home textiles
No
Q: Great landlord. Don't want to damage beautiful floors. Need to have rug lay flat. In living room. Carpet is thin. needs padding
A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug. You can even cut these and trim them to fit so the whole rug is covered from below. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: Rugs are freakin' everywhere!
There are none skid rugs available in stores. They have a thick soft lining on the bottom so they do slip. Also you could use masking tape or double sided tape. Place on the bottom of rugs and stick them on the floor. They won't slip under your feet. Good luck !
Q: Not the luxury ones, just like the ones that are on the kitchen floor with tassles.
rugs are made of Animal or plant fibers, including wool, cotton, sisal, jute, seagrass or bamboo. Man-made material such as viscose, rayon, nylon, acrylic or polypropylene/olefin can also be used.
Q: where can i get heart shaped rugs?
I've okorder
Q: ok so what is a Waffle Weave Rug ?
It's a type of cooler which is weaved in such a way that it has squares in the material. They are used to help cool the horse down and wick sweat away. Personally I prefere a fleece cooler.
