- Q: I'm new at pressing my mac pigments. I recently bought a bunch of mac pigment samples. I have two of each color with eaxactly 1/4 tsp in each. I read that your supposed to press with 3/4. Is it okay to press with less than 3/4?
- Hi! Yes, definitely. You don't have to have exactly 3/4 tsps for it to work. 3/4 tsp might be the measurement needed to fill an eyeshadow pan, if that's where you're pressing your pigments. But then again, it's up to you if you want to fill the pan or not. You don't actually have to be very scientific about pressing pigments. Basically, keep dropping a few drops of 91% alcohol, mix it, and once it gets to the point that it's the the mixture holds/clumps together (you don't want it to be runny, and you'd know if it's still dry). If you put too much alcohol, you shouldn't worry b/c it dries up anyway. It just makes it hard to shape and press it. That's why the key is to put a few drops of alcohol at a time. There's really no exacty # of drops to # of teaspoons of pigments. I've pressed a LOT of pigments myself, and I don't even measure how much I use. Just be sure that after pressing it (press it firmly!), leave it open to air dry :)
- Q: I am a 20 y/o male ectomorph body type 130 lbs 5'7. I have been working out for about 2 years but probably only started getting serious with compound exercises with high weight, low reps, for about 2 months.I have already seen alot of improvements by doing more compound exercises vs isolated ones. I do squats, deadlifts, clean and press, dips, chin ups, etc, but when it comes to the bench press.... I just feel flat out weak. I am doing 5x5 for my sets/reps. I can only put a 45 on the bar and barely get it up 5 full reps. It's been like this for awhile. I feel strong everywhere else but for some reason, my bench is weak and my chest shows it.Any recommendations?
- You're bulking so make sure you get your calories from the right sources and lift hard. I would do more than just bench presses, do dumbbell flyes, incline/decline dumbbell press, and then work your way up to the bench. Make sure you are doing a split, meaning don't exercise more than 1 muscle once a week. My split is Mon- Legs Tues-Back and Shoulders Wed-OFF Thur-Chest Fri-Arms Sat-Light cardio I do sets of 12,10, and 8 with weights increasing by 5 pounds every set. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
- Q: How much are you lifting on the cybex plate loaded squat press without any weights on it
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Cybex plate loaded squat press? How much are you lifting on the cybex plate loaded squat press without any weights on it
- Q: I have been bench pressing for 2 years now and I have never been injured. Towards the end of the school year I started feeling this sharp pain in my front deltoid and my shoulder. When I was lifting it hurt when I pushed the weight up. The pain isnt so much shoulder or chest its both, where the armpit lining is. The pain is a sharp pain sort of feels like the muscle inside is sore. I the pain wasnt going away so I iced it for like 2 days and I tried lifting again. I still felt the pain. So i took some time off and did not touch any weights for a whole month. Today i got back and tried lifting and I still felt the pain. There is no pain when im doing close grip bench, the pain comes when my grip gets a little wide. ANY ONE HAVE ANY AVICE or TREATMENT.
- Sounds like a rotator cuff injury. Don't bench press..... or shoulder press.. or do delt lateral raises. If you have torn a tendon the pain will be severe... so it is likely that you have a tendonitis. For recovery you should see an expert for diagnosis. Usually recovery involves strengthening exercises around the rotator cuff using simple movements on the cable machine.. light dumbells etc... Look around your gym and you will see a guy or two that use light dumbells in sideways movements... overhead arnold presses etc... these guys are probably nursing a shoulder injury... but fact is, all those little movements help build strength in and aroudn the shoulder joints and this adds considerably to your strength, long term so really everyone should do them... but they dont... most guys at the gym are show ponies looking in the mirror at their pecs and trying to bench 100kg.
- Q: The button on the edge of the motor of the woodworking air compressor can be used. Sometimes it must be pushed in to start. What's the function of it?
- No specific picture cannot be determined. But should be the pressure switch, the role is to ensure that the tank does not exceed the maximum pressure, the pressure to a certain extent, the switch will be raised, it will automatically power off. There is a screw attached to the switch and adjust the pressure with a screwdriver.According to your description, if not open when playing out, it may be, some of the switches are stuck, the last time the use of automatic disconnection, the pressure will not be able to return after the drop. When the power cut is recommended, use a screwdriver to toggle the spring of the pressure switch to see if it is flexible. If you don't know what to do, you'd better ask a professional.
- Q: I've bench pressed for many years and encountered this problem over the past 2months.During my first set I will get pretty intense pain in my right bicep. It will be fine after the 2nd set but never the less it is very uncomfortable, could lead to joint damage and reduces how much I can do on my chest during the session. How can I resolve this problem? Why is it happening?
- Well first off it could be from any number of things, now you say you have been lifting for years so im sure you know that the tricep is the secondary muscle when benching, however depending on how wide your grip is, and what the position of your arms are at the bottom of the press can put more strain on muscles other than your chest and tris, therefore your biceps could be called in to the press, ask someone to watch you and when let them know when the pain starts, is most intense, and when it starts to go away throughout the rep. then try moving around your grip and and relying on stricter form and have them watch you again and see if the point of pain changes, lessens, or increases. None the less you should talk to a sports injury specialist, NOT YOUR GENERAL PHYSICIAN, nothing against them, but those that are in the sports medicine field study specifically that.
- Q: does bench pressing work mainly on ur chest? does it work on ur triceps as well? cuz i am looking to bench and work hard trying to build some nice chests and triceps. i can't forget pecs also.
- bench press is more like a complete upper body workout, though it most of the intensity of the training will effect your chest, but it will still tone up ur triceps, shoulders, and if ur lifting a decent weight, it will also work on your upper abs.
- Q: Is pressed powder foundation visible when worn? All the girls I've seen who i know use pressed powder, their foundation is always visible, but it could be because they cake it on maybe?I'm just looking for a change of foundation, but don't want to buy any which will make it ovbvious Im wearing some
- I okorder / - it matches the skin's undertones for a perfect match and is water based to your skin breathes. Just use the translucent powder to set and/or touch up and you're good to go.
- Q: I currently attend the gym but cannot always get there. I have just started doing press ups each day that I miss, and I was wondering if press ups every morning was a more productive way of working out than going to the gym 3 days a week. Thanks for the help!
- I'm not familiar with press-ups are they pushups, or a form of them? Anyway, whatever they are...they are more than likely only targeting one muscle group. To be productive you shouldn't ignore the rest of your body. Think total body workouts. Also don't forget about cardio. Muscular training provides cardio to some degree...but not enough as actually doing cardio would. Cardio is the key to losing weight...and if that's not your goal, it keeps your heart and lungs healthy. Push-ups are an excellent upper body exercises that engages the chest, biceps, traps, and shoulders. But like I said, don't ignore the rest of the body. Do core exercises (planks, vertical leg crunches, russian twists, etc) and lower body exercises like squats and lunges and variations of them. Don't worry about getting to the gym all the time. All the exercises mentioned require just your own bodyweight (and maybe a dumbbell for the Russian Twist). Also unlike the machines in the gym, they are targeting more than one muscle at a time. Example (A russian twist engages the abs, and the obliques, not to mention the arms, and allow spinal mobility) or you can do three different machines to do the same thing. When you do go to the gym, try incorporating more use of freeweights/stabilty balls/resistances bands/medicine balls instead of just machines. Also doing muscle exercises EVERYDAY is not productive. Allow your muscles at least 24-48 hours to recover. Failure to do so could result in overtraining and injury. Best of luck!
- Q: how much can u bench press?
- for a girl, especially at your age, that is alot! I think anyway. Personally, I don't know what my max is becasue I go in sets from a lower to higher weight. I use the upright bench press machine and I do a set of 12 at 100 lbs. - that is easy, then I do a set of 10 at 110 lbs. and that starts to get challenging, then I do a set of 8 at 120 lbs. - that I have to usually push out real hard, and lastly, I do a set of 6 at 130 lbs., ands that is challending as well. I by the way, am a 5'11, 250 pound guy. So you are doing very well. I wish I started to lift at your age. Good luck!
