- Q: My driver side windshield wiper seems to be getting caught when I run it. It runs fine for a second or 2, but then it like stumbles and gets caught. I tried, like an idiot, to run my wipers last week when it was snowing and that‘t when I noticed the problem. The arm itself moves fine, back and forth, with no issue, but when the wiper is on it, that‘s when it stumbles. I just broke the blade on my driver wiper running it a few minutes ago. It got caught, or stumbled on the passenger one, and now the blade‘s broken, so I have to buy a new one. I thought maybe I needed to tighen it, so I did, and it ran fine for a few minutes, but then started stumbling again. Any suggestions?I would take it to be looked at, but the car places here charge an arm and a leg just to LOOK at the car. I‘m wonder if I didn‘t tighten it enough, or if the blade needs to be aligned.
- this is funny, great question, they don't go out of alignment they only work one way, up and down. there not working properly, because there worn, or there not the right ones for your car. worst case your wiper motor is going out and there not going all the way up and down.
- Q: I went to start my car tonight and there was some moisture on my window, so I turned on my wipers. They were working fine last night. When I turned them on today the driver‘s side one didn‘t move at all, and the passenger one went up and down twice then stopped sticking straight up. When I got home I put it down and tried again. I can hear the wiper motor going when I turn them on but they don‘t move. They feel loose if I try to move them manually. What could be wrong and is it expensive to fix?
- sounds like the wiper transmission is broken, have it replaced and you should be ok.
- Q: So I installed some new windshield wipers (Rain X Latitude to be exact) today. Unbeknown to me, when I tested them a pine needle got caught and was streaked several times back and forth causing the glass to essentially be cut in a giant radius. So now I have a giant steak of cut glass from the pine needle (It‘s not cut too deep, fairly shallow) along the passenger side of the car which can‘t help but block my vision. So my question is.Is there any product that can help me buff out or refill the shallow cut to the window? Thank you in advanced for you help!
- If you're asking on how to just start the car, it's pretty easy. Check to see that you're in neutral and depress the clutch (just to play it safe), insert the key into the ignition, turn it forwards and press the gas pedal. Now, to actually drive a standard is another matter altogether. This does take patience, coordination and skill. You can begin by practicing shifting gears (with the ignition off) just to get the feel of this. When driving, you're likely going to over rev the gas or stall the engine a number of times until you get the feel of things. Start slow - press the gas down a bit to speed up. When you hear or feel the car over-revving, it's is time to shift. Depress the clutch (with your left foot) and release the gas (with your right foot) simultaneously. Shift gears with your right hand. Find yourself a nice large empty parking lot and practice, practice, practice. Keep working at it - mastering a standard shift can add so much more excitement to driving.
- Q: I have a 2004 Lexus ES330, just bought it used. I love it but the goofy automatic windshield wiper setting doesn‘t seem to work at all. (Why anyone would want an automatic raindrop sensor is beyond me, but I digress). Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it before I take it to the Lexu$ dealer? Thanks!
- Usually when the windshield is replaced the automatic wiper sensor is installed without a a gel pad, or incorrectly. If not then the sensor is bad. This part is best installed by a Lexus technician, and is a dealer only item, ie it can only be purchased through lexus.
- Q: I need to switch out the windshield wipers on a 2002 Toyota Camry and am trying to figure out what would be recommended. What is the very best? What is the most cost effective? Where can I find the best price on either of these kinds of wipers? The reason I need to change them is because it leaves big areas that do not get wiped when it rains. It‘s definitely dangerous with the weather the way it‘s been.
- Here is what I did on my truck as the wipers on it seemed too short. measure the one you have and then go get new one(s) that are 2 longer, see if they sit flat on the windshield if they do then you have increased your wipe area by 1 high and 1 low, you will see a difference. get the whole assembly a whole 6 bucks for the Rain-X I use the rain-X and they seem to not get hard like the cheapies, but I also have winterguard wipers on my Grand Prix. they have a boot over them that keeps them from icing up when it snows. they are expensive about 15 bucks/wiper.
- Q: My wipers got stuck on each other and now only the driver‘s side wiper works. Any ideas?
- sounds like you need to realign and tighten your wipers, there is just a little cap covering the bolt the holds the wipers on
- Q: I have a 2002 Chevy Impala. About a week ago my driver side windshield wiper was caught in the wind and instead of it going down into place it went off the windshield. I had to pull over and push the wiper down into place and it has been doing this ever since. When it rains, it will either get stuck halfway and then it will go off the windshield, or it just stays there. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it?
- Sounds like the wiper arm has become loose on the spindle. Try moving the wiper by hand to determine security to the mechanism With the wipers in the Parked situation, check the nut that secures the wiper arm to the drive. If it's loose tighten it up. You may have to remove a cover at the end of the wiper arm to gain access, It happens. K
- Q: I have a Jaguar. The last time it snowed my husband turned on the car to warm it up, so he could remove the snow. There was a lot of snow on the car so he did not realize the wipers where on. I assume they were trying to go up but could not because of all the snow. Now they won‘t move at all. We checked the fuses but they seem to be OK. Could we have burned the motor out? How can we fix? Is there a temporary fix in case we can‘t afford a new motor right now? Thanks for any advice.
- You take everything off up to where the air filter is then you install the ram air pipe in the same place and place the air flow sensors in their respected areas and there you go.
- Q: Just yesterday I started my car, and my windshield wipers started going, then they stopped, and then started moving again. It kept doing that and I didn‘t even turn them on. Could it be a bad motor or wiring or something else?
- Sounds like theirs something grounding like a wire the wiper motor it not bad if its bad it won't move your wiper you need to take it to repair center and have it check and get behind it or you can Google it but your best options is have it check out i hope this help you
