Q:ai have Rain-X WeatherBeater windshield wipers on my 2000 silverado. and when im going about 50mph or less, they work like a dream. They just erase the water. It doesnt matter how much water is on this glass, they just erase it. But when i get on the high way, its a whole different story. The passenger side is fine on the highway, that wiper wipes fine at high speeds. But the drivers side doesnt. When im on the highway, the wiper barely works. It skips the glass completely and just barely grazes the water just enough so i can make sure im still on the road. But its only the drivers side that does it and it only does it at high speeds.anyone know how i can fix it?
the spring in the wiper arm gets weak. replace your arms or get aftermarket springs that mount on the arm
Q:Im trying to piece back together my 66 caddy hearseI need some advice how to remove the wiper assembly from the posts-any advice would be appreciated!
Lift the wiper arm and look at the base of the stem and wiper. There will be a little square tam hooked over the stem. Pry this with a screw driver and lift up on the arm. There is a special tool for this as the spring tension is hard to over compensate to pull off the arm. But if you wiggle the arm while pulling up on the other side of the base of the arm, it will eventually come off.
Q:So I have a 1996 Cadillac DeVille. A little while ago I turned the wipers on but didn‘t realize they were frozen to the windshield. Now only the passenger side wiper moves when I turn on the wipers. I‘m assuming that they both run on one motor. If so, then I‘m guessing I must have stripped out some kind of gear. Is this correct? What is the name of the part I should be searching for to fix it?
A lowrider is not a model of car, but rather a name for a style of customizing done to various cars. However, some popular cars to turn into lowriders are Chevy Impalas, Cadillac Eldorados, Lincoln Mk VIs, Chevy El Caminos, and Chevy Monte Carlos
Q:I have a 1995 Ford Thunderbird. i havent had it very long and now its time to change the windershield wipers. the problem is, i think they are stuck. there is a little bar sticking out im pretty sure you just push it and it supposed to come off. well, its not. there isnt any hook on it either so it cant be that. trust me i looked. can anyone give me some tips on how to get them off. please help me out cause its been raining alot and i cant drive anywhere now.
Try looking for a tab to press then tap it out. If it is hinged at the centre of the wiper, try bending it all the way back and the press the pin out.
Q:how do I replace the windshield wiper motor in my 1998 Lincoln town Car?
just take it to pep boys or auto zone and when you buy windshield wipers the installation is free.
Q:Hey everyone,So when I use my wipers, they stop in the middle of my windshield when on. However, it‘s NOT the park position that‘s stuck. When it‘s off, it‘s in the correct position, it‘s just when it‘s on and being used, it will do its stop in the middle of the windshield, unless I have them continuously going. Thanks
thanks for the files about RainX. I were given my autos' oil change about a month in the past. They examine for each thing, inclusive of windsheild wipers. My vehicle is a 2009,and that i need to envision the wipers extra oftentimes because the nice and cozy temperature of the summer down the position I stay , makes the wiper blades wreck swifter.
Q:My wipers finally thawed out a couple days ago after being frozen in ice, but now both are working incorrectly. my drivers side sometimes works, but when it does it doesnt fully extend, or it overextends and flops over the side of my windshield. the passenger side only moves 2-3 inches. i have no idea what happened, i tried to use them once when they were frozen and my theory is that may have misaligned them or burned out the engine or something. they are thawed out and i cant see any obstructions and i have no problem manually moving them with my hands. this is a 2000 Grand Prix, the blades are fine. any ideas as to what might be wrong or how to fix them?
It may because you was keep trying turning the wipers on and off when it is frozen, so you break the motor which use to move the wipers. Let's talk to your mechanic. It cost you some money to fix it. In next time, trying to defrost the wipers before you use it.
Q:Last week, our passenger side windshield wiper randomly stopped working. Our driver‘s side one has done something like this before, but my dad was able to fix it pretty easily. My husband took our car to AutoZone this morning, and they told him that it was going to be hard to fix, so they couldn‘t do it. They said that there‘s something going on underneath (not the motor, though). Does anyone know what this could be and about how much this type of thing should cost?
Everybody says buy new blades, right ? Well lets see if we can fix the problem first. Go to the spot where the wiper arm is mounted to the car, lift the plastic cover off and you should see a nut holding down the wiper arm. Usually 12 mm could be 13mm , take it off, and lift the wiper arm all the way back. ( 90 o to the windshield) There should be grooves running lenghtwise on the shaft part that is tapered. Wipe those clean with a rag or wire brush. NOT your fingers. Spray oil helps loosen the pieces. Try and clean the hole on the wiper arm. Chances are the grooves on the arm are now being scraped off the shaft. Its a kind of safety so you dont burn out the motor in case of what just happened. A new arm would be the best bet $15-40 most jobbers. But in a pinch just wrap a small piece of aluminum foil 3/8 x 3/4 around the splined section of the shaft and reinstall the old arm , make sure that the wipers are ' Parked ' before putting it together, leave the arm up when you first test it. Remember to remove the tin foil when you put the new arm on. This is only a quick fix and may well last years, but I make no such claim. Fix it right and get a new arm
Q:I have a ‘97 Pontiac Sunfire that otherwise works fine, but the windshield wipers are acting up. When they are on they work just fine, but when I go to turn them off, they park in the middle of the windshield instead of stowing at the bottom. Any ideas?I already tried taking them off and resetting them when the wipers were off, but that just made them stay at the bottom even when i turned them on.
The wipers sit on what is called the transmission or linkage. That is probably what is wrong. Most likely, you need a new one of these. It is probably missing a few teeth on the linkage.
Q:i feel like mine make things worse when its raining. Really, they just leave streaks of pushed around water. Is it time for some new ones? I‘m not really sure how long they‘ve been on because i‘ve only been driving it for 2 months. Thanks for any advice[
You need to change your wipers when they don't clean the windshield.Remember to clean the windshield, so the new wipers have a chance to work properly, and every time you wash your car, wipe the edge of the wiper blade. It's not when you use the wipers that wears them out, it's when they sit for months with dirt building up on them, then they stick to the windshield. Changing them is fairly simple.
