- Q: Does the alarm go off on a saturn L100 when you open it with a key? i lost the remote to my car and i don‘t want to try it because im not sure how to turn the alarm off
- Every alarm is set up slightly different, but in most cases the alarm will not sound if you unlock the vehicle with the same method it was last locked (lock with the key ,unlock with the key). If it was last locked with the remote, you can try to unlock with the key, usually it wont go off. If it does, close the door, lock it with the key, count to three, and unlock it again. this should kill the alarm. If it is still going off, then get in, close the door, and turn the ignition on. After doing these things, if the alarm is still going off, then chances are you have a malfunction in your alarm system that needs service from a trained professional. Also, be sure to use your primary key to do this, not a secondary key or a copy. Most newer GM cars have an electronic chip in the primary key that communicates with the security system, and this is the one you need to use.
- Q: why did my car alarm didnt went off when someone slashed my tyres? thanks?
- Yes you can use other types of metal as long as the bolt pattern matches up, as well as wheel width and offset
- Q: Something that would prevent someone from taking my car and driving away. Like Ravelco or Lojack but less expensive. Also not too cheap like a steering wheel lock. Any input is cool.
- An alarm that pages the handset when the alarm is triggered. You can have an auto electrician run an ignition kill switch in a hidden area in your car. Or the simplest cheapest way is to remove the starter or fuel pump fuse, or both. Your car battery will still power the car alarm and most thieves will not want to spend the time make the car run. FYI, most cars have fuses under the dash and in the engine apartment.
- Q: I own a 1998 Ford Explorer. Recently the car alarm has been going off automatically. It does not do it all the time, but it does occur quite often. The only time it doesn‘t do it, is if I leave the car unlocked. I was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong, or if anyone had a similar problem. Also, is there any place I might be able to disengage this feature? Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Thank-You.
- Possibly door on drivers side(it's used the most), It is the black rubber thingy poking out the frame when with door open you look towards engine BUT at the door frame part normally covered by door(door pushes in plunger(opening or closing circuit depending)). May be other part of circuit(overhead dome light even). You can switch alarm off BUT bring it to dealer to fix(get written estimate first AND hold them to it) as they should have no problem. Might be sensitivity setting which is adjustable. Fix it or f#K IT- simply remove wire to alarm horn. But dealer $50 should get it. $100 max! $10 do it yourself(parts only). Or zero if adjustment or clean/repair contact.
- Q: I have a Rover 400 and my alarm keeps going off every time i unlock the car. Can someone please tell me how I can disable the car alarm?
- well if you drive hard you could have made the wires pop out and their shorting so cap them if it is After market you might want a maniac look at it
- Q: i have an aftermarket alarm on my car and just recently had my window smashed open. it didnt even go off! what are glass breaking sensors? should i add them to my current alarm? can i also make my alarm be more sensitive so it will go off if someone taps the car? ive seen this remote with a pic of a car and it blinks and sounds and shows u where the car was touched.
- i dont know about glass breaking sensors, but i have sensors in my car which sense a change of pressure, ie if someone smashes a window or manages to get a door open( my alarm goes off) but glass breaking sensors, it could be the same thing but im not sure!! your alarm should have went off though surely!!
- Q: The minor issues that I have with my car are: the driver‘s window doesn‘t operate well (especially in colder weather), cracked windshield (which I temporary covered with adhesive and packaging tape), and dent in hood. The car is a 99 Civic. In the future, I would also like to change to a short shifter, tint the rear window, get a paint job. (all of which I feel the alarm would not effect).Main concern is the window.
- It's best to dry your hair first, then use a serum to straighten it to avoid any serious damage. However, there are some straighteners that are for damp hair. I've never used them, though, so I don't know how effective they are.
- Q: My mom drives a 1998 Chevy Venture and for the past couple weeks, at various times throughout the day, the car alarm will go off. It will honk about 3 to 5 times and then stop. Any idea what could be causing this?
- sparkling the cable connections, cost the battery, and/or have it appeared at at a difficulty like automobile Zone. they are going to ascertain the battery and the charging procedure without spending a dime, and promote you what you would possibly want to come back on the line. they are going to set up the battery for you, inspite of the undeniable fact that now no longer an alternator. Make certain the belts are tight, and now no longer slipping, and that no longer some thing is pulling your battery down, similar to at least some thing left on at nighttime time, such because the glove field gentle, trunk gentle, or some thing plugged in like a telephone telephone charger. I desire this helps. solid success!!!
- Q: Any hints on how to stop this?
- Nissans suck.Well first I'd check to make sure you're not accidentally depressing the panic button while the remote is in your pocket. If not then you got to take it to an alarm shop and get it fixed or deactivated.
- Q: im ready to go fight
- I've never had that problem, but I used to have a roommate who'd set his alarm clock to go off a couple hours before he needed to get out of bed. It would blare the radio for several minutes before he hit snooze, and then I would get a few minutes of peace before it would start blaring again.
