Q: ok so im looking for a flowmaster for my durango so while i was looking i found that you could by a flow master 40 muffler for 87 bucks but then theres the flowmaster 40 exhaust system which costs 330 its alot more expensive what does it include that the muffler doesnt? thanks.
The muffler is only one part of the exhaust. The rest of the system are the exhaust pipes and tailpipes to also increase exhaust flow.The two combined together will do more than just the muffler will. They make complete kits to replace the entire exhaust system because factory systems are more restricted than the replacement ones.
Q: Just brought my truck to get dual in dual out 3 flowmaster turndowns right after the cab put on it. What‘s your opinion on this system? Is it going to be loud or what? Also, which is better, dual in dual out, or single in dual out?
Let the Dual-War begin, I say this because over the years it's been a battle with friends on this subject. I think it's become a battle of Opinions, because many don't understand, or completely know what they want in a Dual System. Many say that if your truck came equipped with Dual Cats from the factory, you have a True Dual System. I say, they should get their heads examined, Dual Cats coming from a single Muffler and a single Exhaust Pipe or a Y-Pipe, is in no way, a True Dual System. I say a True Dual System, is one that has Dual Mufflers Dual Cats, coming from a high quality X-Pipe. Without a doubt, this system will enhance the power, giving it a more muscled affect, which will make the exhaust flow much better, and making it sound louder, all in one neat package. Now, we all surrender, and bring up the white flag when it comes to FlowMaster, their technology and products are Top Of The Line. When it comes to Dodge, Chevy/GMC or Ford, than the solution is FlowMaster, period. Q: I want to gain a little more acceleration so i can take off quicker like when going on the highway but i dont like the ones with large mufflers so i am thinking about getting a flowmaster exhaust installed on my ex. Even though it is automatic will i still notice any performance gains, even slightly? I figure since the pipe outlet is like the same size as the oem one that i will still have the back pressure needed and get the benefits of the high flow exhaust pipe too.also if i get that installed should i also get a new aftermarket intake put on too? is it better to have both or would it be a waste and should just get the exhaust. becuase i hear the stock air intake system is more efficient thatn a short eram or cold air aftermarket one.thanks
usually that kind of stuff is bad for the vehichle my dad is a mechanic and he says that sure it makes it sound cool but in the long run it ***** things up in your engine. i wouldnt do it but thats just me

Most people keep a stock catted midpipe on hand for their inspections and just change it out for the test. Then they put the offroad exhaust back on when they get home. Other people who do that, live in a city, municipality, etc. that doesn't do testing. Still others (like myself) live in an area that has drive through emissions test monitors that if you pass twice in a 6 month period before your test is due, you don't need a visual inspection.
Q: I would like to purchase an aftermarket exhaust system for my car. I have done some research and have found a Pacesetter Monza. A Borla exhaust part 11734. A Mandrel custom made exhaust. And a Trubendz custom made exhaust. I would like the exhaust to be relatively quiet because I still want to be able to hear someone while hitting the gas but i don‘t want it to be stock. I want some grunt. Plus i would like to have good airflow and a solid all round exhaust. Please help me find the right exhaust for my needs. I have about 300-350$. I will be installing myself.

Cat back means an entire kit that replaces piping from the cat all the way back to where the tip exits. Most vehicles have a smaller stock tube diameter than the replacement cat back exhaust systems, all this means is that the stock system is more restrictive than a bolt on system. On newer vehicles there really isn't that much difference in the diameter and bends of the stock system compared to the performance system. Mainly the stock muffler is all you need to replace for a less restrictive one. On my 2001 6 liter dually, I replaced the headers and just the muffler, all the stock piping is mandrel bent already with no sharp bends, works just as good. Friend of mine has identical motor and truck with cat back system, doesn't sound as good and not as powerful as mine. Good Luck.
Q: I am considering installing after market intake and exhaust systems on my 2000 Toyota Celica GT. However I would assume that a modern sports touring car such as mine would already be fitted with a good setup out of the factory. The 1.8L 4-cylinder engine needs all the help in can get. In other cars I could imagine there would be considerable benefits to after market parts in this are, but I am concerned that I would not see considerable performance increases. If this is the case, where could I see the best value for my money without installing a turbo, supercharger or NOS?
A cold air intake will be the cheapest accessory, with gains of about 10-15HP. After that, swapping out your header and cat back exhaust will add together maybe 20-25HP. But, that set up would cost a little bit more. I have an '05 Mazda 3. With those upgrades, I went from stock (150HP) to just under 200.

I think your car is 17 years old and most custom exhaust are for much newer cars.
