Q: All the water to my house comes from the river close by - via a 1500kw surface pump, into a large pressurised tank. If there is ever any kind of blockage in the pipe - or if it freezes ...this causes the pump to run - 'dry' - which eventually burns out the motor. I have lost 2 pumps so far because of running dry - and they are very expensive.I would like to fit some kind of automatic cut-out - that will ALWAYS stop the pump running after 15 minutes or perhaps less - as that is ALL the time it needs - if the water is flowing freely - to fill the pressurised tank. I feel sure such a thing must exist - but I do not know what it is called or where to buy one. Does anyone know of a 'switch' of this kind? And where to look for one? What could I put into google to do a search - for suppliers and prices, please?
Put an inline presure switch between the tank and pump so the pump will turn off when the presure in the line drops below a preset presure.
Q: I recently bought a 1992 Honda Accord. It has high mileage but the records kept on it were impecable up to about the last 3 years. I have read that you need to replace the timing belt/water pump every 80k miles. However; I do not know when it was changed last. The Only record in the book on the subject was back at 90k miles. That was the first time they had the timing belt changed. So How do I know its time to change it again? The car now has 199k miles. I do not want to do unnecessary work before time, however; I also know that the affects it will have on the engine is great if its not done within the right TIME! Is there anyway to know it needs to be done? What kind of signs will the car give? And how much is it going to cost me when it has to be done? Thanks!
can't tell you the price, don't know where you live and where you get yoiur work done, call around.. belts need to be replaced when they're worn. look for cracks, frays and listen for squealing. (sometimes the water pump will squeal when it's bad...) otherwise, take the car in to someone you trust and have them look at it..ESTIMATE only..
Q: Pump adapter joint net outside tube, what is the principle?
First, the working principle:Fire pump adapter is connected with the public security fire department fire engine or motor fire pump fire water transport through the fire pump adapter interface fire water supply pipeline to the buildings, the fire hydrant indoor get sufficient pressure to solve the problem of water shortage and other difficulties or because of fire water supply pipeline inside the building due to low water pressure caused by the fire fighting for high-rise building, indoor use and normal operation of fire pumps and intermittent water supply situation in. The installation types include floor type, underground type and wall type.A brief introduction to the two, pump adapter:When a fire occurs, the fire engine pump can quickly and conveniently through the interface and building the adapter in the fire fighting equipment is connected, and the water pressure, so the indoor fire equipment pressure with sufficient water to extinguish, different floors of fire, effectively solves the problem of building fires, fire fighting because of difficulties or indoor fire fighting equipment due to lack of adequate water pressure to the fire.
Q: Hello everyone, is the general household deep well pump capacitor how to pick up ah, 220V voltage, a capacitor, capacitor, there are 2 lines, but the motor is 3 lines, how can I put these 7 lines together?.Please don't copy professional theories from others.
220V has two lines (lines 1, lines 2)There are two lines of capacitance (line 3, line 4)There are three lines on the motor (line 5, line 6, line 7)3 11 52 64 7That's plain enough. To change the turn, change any two of the 5, 6, 7, three lines
Q: does anyone know the proper way to take the lower gearcase off and install a new water pump kit. it is a 1986.
This is a simple repair but I'd recommend that you get a service manual, ether a factory manual or one of the generic Seloc manuals. The key things to do are mark the trim tab so you can put it back in the same position after repairs. Drain the oil. Removing the bolt that is in the hole at the back end of the upper housing, as well as all the obvious Nuts. both above and under the cavitation plate. Put the drive in forward gear, which takes the tension off the shift shaft. Once all the nuts and bolt are loose. Jiggle the drive and it will separate from the upper housing. You now have access to the water pump housing. Remove the housing and pull it up and off the d. Shaft. Inspect fully and account for missing impeller blades. When you re assemble Lube the impeller and put the drive key in place and put the impeller in place. Slide the housing down to the impeller. You can use ether th drive shaft or the propeller to turn the drive shaft in a clockwise direction as you apply pressure on the housing, It should slide down over the impeller. Reassemble in reverse order. Slide the drive shaft up into the upper housing turning the D. shaft using the prop to turn the shaft. Watch the water tube slip into the guide tube. Once it's in place put a couple nuts on then check the gear shift to make sure it goes F-N-R. Bolt up and fill with oil. Good Luck!
Q: how to replace water pump in a 96 F150?
1. drain coolant 2. remove engine fan and clutch assembly 3. remove radiator hose connection at water pump 4. remove water pump 5. clean water pump to engine mating surfaces 6. install water pump with water pump gasket 7. rest of installationin reverse order of removal
Q: I have 1 92 cadillac sedan deville and I am takin a 12 hour road trip tomorrow and I want to know if my water pump is goin bad or is it the fuel pump? Please help driving by myself and don't wanna get stranded anywhere. thank you in advance
Prior to the cars coolant getting hot, remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Let it run for 5 minutes or so. Look into the radiator and see if the coolant is moving like a jacuzzi. If the coolant is swishing around strongly, the pump is good, if not, wait another 5 minutes for the thermostat to open. If after waiting, the coolant still has no movement, I would say the thermostat may be stuck closed. Unless there is a leak or noise coming from the water pump, don;t worry about it. They tell you when a problem is present. Noises or leaks will be the sign of a bad pump. If you see none of these signs, don't worry and enjoy your trip. Good Luck...
Q: What is the average life of a water pump in a car?
Its a very hard question to answer, like how long is a piece of string. There's no time put on them or guarantee. In all my cars I have never had to change Lucky i guess.
Q: Mechanic really could not locate the origin of the leak but says the water pump needs to be replaced and says it's a lot of work and would cost $350. How can the origin of the leak be determined. He used a pump and raised the pressure on the radiator but that didn't reveal anything either. Please help.
Water pumps should be replaced every 60K miles and the timing belt should be done at the same time. If your water pump hasn't been replaced in that long or longer I'd blame it having shaft play for your leak. The water pump is in the same area as the belts so it's definitely the most likely culprit.
Q: I have a bad water pump on my golf gti.Engine is 2.0L. I just would like to know how hard is it to do it myself. And also is there some special tools that I need. How much time usually takes to get this done? Thank you
The 85 was CISE, and did not have a lift pump in the tank from what I remember. All I remember is the singe pressure pump outside the tank, down low, off to the front right of the tank. That is also where the filter and accumulator are. Change the filter and check the pressure. I believe around 40 psi. If ok, then leave the pump alone. And make sure the tank is venting right, and the pressure return regulator is good. You can not even be sure the pump is the problem. By the way, the GTI with the DOHC is a sought after engine of value. But do the timing belt regularly.
