- Q:I have a 94 Mazda b2300 it was working great last week then all the sudden it started making a knocking sound and started to overheat! Its still drivable but it overheats if i go far! A friend told me it can be the Water Pump so i put a new one, I was told it can be the Thermostat so i had a new one put in. It worked for awhile but began overheating again. My truck is my livelihood so its important i get it fixed! I cant afford a mechanic but just asking to see if anyone knows what it could possibly be? It catches good and the engine sounds strong but it keeps overheating!
- Your friends and Kirk don't seem to be working for you. The knocking sound has me concerned and I'm not sure how it plays into the overheating. First the antifreeze level? After the water pump and thermostat you should have bled the air out of the system. Don't think you can fill the reservoir tank and it will be okay. Take the cap off the radiator to confirm it is full. Next is the fan. If it is electric you need to make sure it is working if it is belt driven you need to grab the blade and give it a push, it should not spin free and should only go about one blade past where you pushed it. Engine off for that one please. Next the radiator it self. Make sure the fins and not blocked and air can move through them.
- Q:Ok, so I was driving the other day when I heard this quot;clunksound...my AC went out (stopped blowing cold), and power steering went out. I pulled over and one of the wheels where the serpentine belt goes on was off and obviously the belt was off too. I got it towed to a shop where they showed me I needed a new belt - it was ripped, and told me I need a new water pump...all together a 400 dollar job after labor and parts. I was hoping I would just need a new belt and they could bolt back on the wheel...From a chic standpoint, this seemed logical. I know nothing about cars and I'm always very skeptical when I take my car anywhere to get it worked on bc I could be told anything and wouldn't know the difference...Has anyone had a similar experience or does this sound like the problem? I have a 07 honda civic...around 80,000 miles.
- 400 okorder and the water pump replacement was 273 to 322 dollars. I could not find a price for the water pump belt and the tension-er pulley that is usually replaced then too but piece wise I think the shop is not trying to hose you. Its always good to pay attention however. anytime you lose a belt like that, shut off the car it can overheat quickly and blow a head gasket or worse the motor. Some people just do not understand that when a catastrophic failure occurs and you lose several important functions all at once park the car until it gets fixed. Repairpal takes a bit of getting used to when first trying out, but it can give you some price guides that are right on the money when you are not sure what the mechanics are telling you. good luck pay attention.
- Q:think the water pump is behind the crank pulley but im not certain I've pulled apart the front end but I'm having a hard time getting the pulley off so I want to make sure the part im trying to pull off is not the wrong one.
- your water pump is located in the front center of the engine behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. The timing belt must be removed to service the pump and recommend changing the belt at the same time. the only special tool you will need is a puller to remove the crank pulley this can be rented at an auto parts store the rest comes apart with basic hand tools. I recommend buying a service manual for your car at the parts store you get the other items needed to change the pump it will give you a step by step procedure for changing your belt and pump.
- Q:implementation of regulator in water level control system
- This might be explained with an example. There is a water tank being used by a community (or a dwelling) and it is supplied by a pump from a well. There is a switch in the tank that is wired to the pump motor. The switch is activated by a lever attached to a float in the tank. When the float is in the down position the pump runs, When the float is pushed up by the water the punp is turned off. The pump first operates and fills the tank and then shuts off when the tank is full. When the usage of water drops the water in the tank to a certain level, the pump turns on until it is full again. The float, the switch and the motor are the pump regulating devices. This type of regulation is called two-position, like a light switch. Other more involved types of regulation may adjust a valve in the pipeline from the pump . This changes the rate of flow while the pump continues to run. The first type of regulation can be called digital because the flow is yes or no. The second can be called analog because while it is on, the flow varies in amount. If I have not adequately answered your question, maybe someone else will.
- Q:it's not doing anything. about a month ago, i changed the pressure switch because it the water just suddenly stopped (like now), and after changing it, it worked again. I did noticed that after changing the pressure switch, it was tripping a lot (the pressure switch). when the water pump stopped again (this time), i went a bought another pressure switch thinking that it was the same problem, but this time it didn't solve the problem. Came to find out later, that the pressure switch that i had changed about a month ago, it was wired incorrectly - maybe that's why it was tripping a lot? so i did wired this one correctly, but still didn't work. Did i burned the pump? another note here is that it has been less than a year that i changed the water pump. My question is, what could the problem be this time? did i burned the pump because i wired the pressure switch incorrectly? any suggestion, please email me thanks!
- what the hell are you working on?? Need just a little more input
- Q:55KW motor driven lift 70M, the displacement of 180 cubic meters per hour of water pump, the configuration should be no problem, but after the start of the current to 170A (rated 100A), off a small valve to the current export half to reach the rated current. Why current will close a small valve instead of small? Will close a small valve will not affect traffic flow can be? To the 180 party?
- Flow multiplied by the head is powerFlow can reach less than 180 parties, efficiency is reduced, the size of the impeller can be adjustedAnswer the question, add, depends on the structure of the pump, if the vacuum pump, as you imagine
- Q:How much is the flow rate of fire hydrant and spray shared water pump?
- Fire fire water is superimposed, at the minimum, the lowest 5L/S automatic spraying fire hydrant, light danger level 13.9L/S, the least is 18.9L/S, but the data is useless, the data are not spraying fire hydrant, concrete analysis of high-rise buildings like the dangerous level according to the calculation, the general design, the concrete building needs the high-rise building minimum 20L/S, automatic spraying dangerous level according to the general 30L/S, 50L/S need to flow
- Q:I'm going on a week long hiking trip and need safe water. What brand and model of water filter/pump should i get? Whats good quality for a low price?
- Most distance and light weight hikers carry a Steripen and a paper coffee filter. The Steripen uses U.V. light to sterilize the water, takes about 1 minute for a liter. The paper coffee filter removes any particulate matter in the water if necessary. Depending on the model they cost from $39 to $109. The one I carry is about the size of a large felt tip pen and weighs around 4 oz. It's rechargeable from a usb port, can be charged from my solar charger. The battery is good for 40 or 50 liters between charges.
- Q:Does it take more power to pump water with a 1 /12 hp bg motor/pump than one that is a spare pump/motor running dry,not connected to the system? I am trying to figure out how long it will run with an power inverter during a power failure.
- put in a zone valve that way when the power goes out you can open the zone manually and heat with gravity,as the furnace cools it draws the heat from the top of the unit through the pipes and back to the bottom
- Q:If the water pump does not get water to pump, will it be burnt out? If so, then can it be fixed? And if it doesnt get water to pump, what exactly happens to it?
- Running a pump without water to cool it will cause it to overheat. Bearings fail and the insulation on the wiring in the motor burns. The motor can be rebuilt, but it's usually less expensive to replace the whole thing.
