Q: I was swapping out the factory radio for an after market one, after it was wired up I realized that the harness they gave me was incorrect. When I went to put the old one back in it wouldn't turn on, I checked the power at the harness I had 12volts all the car fuses were good and I there are no fuses on the actual radio.Any suggestions?
id make sure u didn bend any of the pins in the harness' connector. then i'd check ur fuses
Q: I have a old sony 20wx4 stereo in my car.i just purchased a Dual touchscreen motorized dvd player.(Dual xdvd710) and my friend is going to install it for me today, and he said to get a wiring harness from best buy.Do i absolutely need one? Or can he use the one thats there already, if theres one there.? I'm tryng to save as much as possible because the radio was $250. Its going in my 95 camaro.
Many stereo setting up centers have patch kits for in simple terms such situations the place the previous stereo replace into stolen and the harness is broken. See in case you will detect a style of first. Or attempt a wrecking backyard for a production unit hookup. in case you could not locate one, then in simple terms cord it promptly to the harness. remember, regardless of in case you replace the production unit wiring, you will nevertheless could get the adapter to hook the hot stereo into the production unit harness. while you're actually not stressful approximately removing the stereo later once you intend to enhance or sell the motor vehicle, in simple terms cord it to the harness and don't subject on the subject of the production unit connectors. in simple terms determine you cord it properly.
Q: Any idea where in the world I can get one. Buying a new car right now is out of the question.
Yes, for genuine Toyota parts at about 30% off MSRP plus UPS SH, I found and have dealt with 2 Toyota dealers in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX for like 10 years. You can find the Toyota parts catalog, the part number, the suggested price and their discount right on the internet, call the Internet Parts Department and fax in your order along with credit card. Locally if I need a genuine Toyota part, I have to watch for a coupon in the mail from local Toyota dealers and most of the time, the discount is only 15% and occasionally 20%. A wiring harness can be expensive but if you want to keep your Toyota for Life, then I recommend only using genuine Toyota parts bec we owned 5 Toyotas from brand new and the longest was 1993 Toyota Camry LE with 211,000 miles before my wife and her sisters decided SUVs for safety and we bought 2005 Highlander 6 cylinder AWD Hope the Above Info Helps!
Q: I had a hid burn out and i wasnt sure if that was because i dont have a wiring harness or if it was just a crap hid.
need beter deatial sorry
Q: Ihave a 2001 dodge ram and I am installing a new front bumper but when I took the bumper off I noticed that underneath the passenger headlight there is a random wiring harness that isn't connected to anything.I was wondering if anyone knew what it is or what it is supposed to be wired to
Could be a multi-use harness that allows it to be used on different models with different options.
Q: I need a new wiring harness for my rx7 and idk if this one will work?
no, the computers in those 2 cars are different. the are 2 diff. generations of rx7s. in order to use a wireing harness for a diff generation car/motor the car must have the motor/ecu to match the wireing harness. hope this helps.
Q: I have a 98 jeep grand Cherokee and I just bought a pioneer stereo for it. We got a wiring harness and connected everything how it goes except 3 wires ( mute, dimmer and illumination) but the radio won't come on. Should I be connecting those 3 wires? If so, where?
No, you don't need to connect those 3 wires just go back and double check your work, make sure all the other wires are connected properly. Also try wrapping up together all the yellow wires to the red wires this usually makes a stereo work.
Q: I have been given a pyle stereo from a friend and for the life of me cannot find the wiring harness for it online. Any tips?
i have been desperate enough to jam bits of speaker wire over the pins then hot glue them in lol. it worked.
Q: I have a 2000 honda civic I want to swap with an LS motor and turbo it. Will motor mounts / wire harness, etc match up or will there be any fabrication/ customization / extra's I have to get. Also is it recomended to use the LS tranny or will the D16 bolt on the the LS motor. Thanks!
Hell no, it wont, even if the harness match, what tells you that the inside terminals leads to the same sensor?, no way, get the whole wiring and ECU for the new engine, dont be cheap as you will anyway spend a lot in the turbo as $4500 USD will be needed for PARTS only! in that process you better do it the right way from start! Look, you can use a car performance simulator[1] to guide you in the process, there you can virtually do all this mods including turbo, and try different transmission gear ratios to see how the car would perform and choose the best setup
Q: I have to plug up a Nisan antenna adapter to my aftermarket radio. The adapter has a blue wire. Its is suppose to be connected to the radios power-antenna/turn on lead. Do anyone know which wire is the turn on lead?
In most after-market radios, the power antenna wire is solid blue. Some don't have a true power antenna wire, though; they just have a remote wire. In this case, the wire will usually be blue with a white stripe. The difference is that a true power antenna wire will only produce voltage when you have tuner selected on the head unit, while a remote wire will produce voltage whenever the head unit is switched on, regardless of the source selected. Either will work to activate a power antenna (or antenna amplifier). P.S. You should connect the wire even if you do not have a power antenna. Many newer vehicles are equipped with antenna amplifiers which need to be activated through the power antenna wire.
