Q:Recently I bought a EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS. When it came in, the card fits in my case but has 2 cables to plug in. I only have 1 cable to plug them in connected to my power supply. Should i only plug in 1, or is it nessesary? Is there an extra one I just dont know about? Please answer!: After looking at several 8800GTS's online, I don't see any that require two PCIe six pin plugs. This means I think your talking about the 4 pin molex adapter to be used by those that lack a 6 pin PCIe plug. Because this is a powerful card and it can't get enough electrical power to run from the socket, it needs more juice, and it gets it from the 6 pin PCIe power plug found on newer PSUs. For people that don't have that, many places include an adapter that you can use. If you don't have enough open/free molex plugs however, I question whether or not your PSU has enough power to feed the 8800GTS. What PSU do you have? How many Amps are on the 12V rail? Open your case up and see if you can read the sticker that should be on all power supplies. If you don't have enough open plugs, I would NOT use a splitter. Splitters can be used to hook up several low power devices (like fans) not high power devices like video cards.

Q:My computer has ran fine for almost 6 to 7 months and just recently shutdown, and when I boot it back up, I get a red message and a beeping noise saying quot;The power cable is not connected to the video card. Q:Hi all, I'm moving into a new apartment August 1, and I'm wondering how far in advance I need to call the power company, cable company, etc to set up service. I know this is probably a dumb question, but throughout college I moved into apartments where at least one of the other roommates was staying (I took over someone's lease who was moving out, but the other girls stayed so I was the only new resident). But I'm moving into a one bedroom, and I've never had to set these things up before so I just thought I'd ask what the standard time frame is. Is a month enough advance notice--should I start setting this stuff up in early July? Or sooner? Again, I know this is probably dumb but I have no experience so I wanted to ask some people who've been there and done that what the procedure is. Thanks in advance!: 10-14 days should be enough notice for the utility companies... I typically call at least 10 days prior to my move date to schedule the utilities to be turned on.

Q:its a rca home theater system and i need a power cable as my last one broke is there somewere were i can buy one: I'd recommend going back to the place where you got the TV and see if they can sell you an exact replacement. It might not be the cheapest option, but at least you know you're getting the right cable. Especially if the TV is under warranty still. If you use a third party cable, they could try and snake out of honoring the warranty then if something goes wrong. Otherwise contact the manufacturer and see if you can buy directly from them. Again for the purposes of honoring the warranty and well just that is safer going with an exact replacement. I would guess this might cost a bit more, but it could be your only option. Lastly, I guess you could try places online like OKorder, newegg, monoprice or such. They might be able to sell an equivalent replacement for you. Just make sure you're really certain what the cable is that you're replacing.

Q:Okay I need help.I lost the power cable for my modem, so now I am using a 18v 1A cable, the input of the modem needs 15v 1.5awill this be compatible or will it burn my modem?: Get the proper supply. It will be easier on it. With that supply, it could overheat and prematurely fail.
