Q: I bought a used DVD player that didn't come with a power cord or power cable.On the back of the DVD player, the power cable input looks like this:__________|_o__|__o__)So basically it looks like the power cable should have two wires with one side being flat and the other end being a half circle.What is the technical name for this power cord so I can easily find it if I go to Radio Shack?Thanks.: Ask for a 6 ft AC power cord. Q: I have an electrical source 220 Kv or 380 KV at site X and want to pull cables to site Y to privde electricity for this Y site for general lighting and power sockets.So what is the max distance for the cables i can pull from site X without voltage drop affect the voltage or power at site Y.: For zero voltage drop, the distance is zero. If this is a practical question, you would need to know: 1. How much voltage drop can be tolerated (eg. 1%? 5%? other?) 2. What is the maximum current the cables will need to handle? 3. What is the resistance-per-length of the cable?

Q: does anyone know a website that has like a chart with pictures of the different power supply connectors and where in the desktop computer they go all I know is the 24 pin goes to the motherboard and the 6 pin goes to my graphics card: Its on your motherboard factory web site. usually there is a 4 or 8 pin for the mobo PCI bridge, sata, pata, power connectors for drives. smaller for floppy, blue wire for PSU fan speed report. just find out what FORM you need, most are ATX.

Well ours is round and square. Can i shave the square one or will it not work?: No, you can use the power cable for a computer on the PS3. It is a standard shape and can be purchased from any good computer shop. The PS2 uses a transformer and the pin alignment is different. Just get a proper cable, they are really cheap anyway.

And if I want to read/learn more about it where should I go?: If you look at the jack that go inside the power input you will see that it is an outside connect and an inside one.The O is the inside connect and the C is the outside one.Because it is a DC power adapter it has a + and - polarity .O,the inside ,is the plus and C,the outside,is the minus. Also on the adapter you can see the same thing! This is because some brands use the outside connect as + and you can burn your device if you use it!!!!

Power strip? thanks: you will want HDMI cable for each component that has an HDMI connection. ie: cable box, home theater playstation3/xbox 360 whatever you may have the only way to make complete use of your 1080P is to use HDMI for everything you can. Power strip of course is a given. you should be good as long as you have the cables.

Good 750W power supplies are at least ?70 and have four 6-pin PCI cables. Heck, a good 430W costs more than that and it's guaranteed to perform better.
