- Q: Is this really difficult to maintain? I have a 7-year old and we live in the tropics. What are the products that we need to use as protector?
- I live in North Carolina, and in the Summer we have Tropical Weather.I wouldn't recommend any Leather, Vinyl, or Plastic because you stick to everything, even with A/C on all the time.Also mold and mildew grow really fast on leather. Buy a Cloth Sofa. 9/29

- Yes that is enough. Congrats for not falling for the cheap sofa ads. Go to a better furniture store and tell them what you have to spend. The sales person will show you what is in your price range. Be sure the frame is hardwood like oak or maple. Make sure it has real coil springs tied 5 ways. If you find a solid color it will keep the cost down. Patterns need to be matched and cost more in labor. Thin cotton is a bad choice. Microseude will last well. A chenille or corduroy type with texture should wear well. A heavy cotton blend is fine. Once you get the sofa, buy a can of Scotchguard and spray the parts that you will contact with food. You do not need an expensive store spray plan. Sales people make a lot of extra money selling you that treatment. Sofas get very expensive but usually there are reasons they are worth it. Often it is how the frame is shaped and padded. Also better companies have better and more interesting fabric. Good luck shopping.

- just put baby powder over it, let it sit a while and vacuum it off. or some chalk just color it in and rub it off, or vacuum it off but personally I always use baby powder, especially when I put some type of oil in my hair and let it down and I end up with spots all over the back of my shirt baby powder works wonders, You can even use it as dry shampoo as it absorbs all the oil and just comb your hair out lol

- Are you writing about a sofa that you sit on? I have not heard about this. But if it is made of a polyester material, it could cause pollution and make the air you breathe toxic. I know a person who is allergic to polyester material. I think you need to add some more details and material to your question............
- Q: I cannot beleive my asking a question about sofa cushions but here I go. We have a perfectly fine sofa. However, we just tried to wash one of the sofa seat covers and the zipper broke. Now, we cannot fit the seat cover back on the foam cushion. It is an older sofa but it is decent shape. I do not want to reupholster the whole couch or replace the foam cushion. I just need to purchase one seat cover. I have no idea even where to begin. Does anyone know where I can purchase couch seat covers?
- If it's an older sofa, as you said, you'll never find a replacement. Other than a new sofa, re-upholstering or slipcovers are your only option. By the way, the zipper could be replaced.Just because cushions have zippers, they shouldn't be washed, as you found out.
