Q: I would like to recover them but they want $1000 just for the sofa. I could buy a new (junk but new) one for that. I prefer to keep these because I will probably retire next year and we can throw them out at that time. They are now both covered in green vinyl that is cracked in many places. Q: I just bought three sofa yesterday, but I felt that it was too rushed and does not feel confident that it will look good. Q: its like a black vinyle thing they sell at ebay like a couch support that prevents you sinking when you sit on the sofa?does it really work? for how long? is it worth buying: yes my mum had them and they lasted years, she had to get them becuase when i was younger and my bro and sister we used to jump on sofas and broke the springs! but she got these boards and worked fine, in fack im going to get some for my sofas as i cant afford a new sofa!

Q: i dont want to re-upholstery my sofa. its too expensive. it costed me a lot. the stain came from sweat and dust.: Try woolite with resolve for upholstery on the sofa, spot shot on the carpet. if you don't have a steam cleaner, rent a rug doctor from your local grocery store, or walmart be sure to get the upholstery attachments. Buy a small bottle of carpet cleaner for the machine, a can of spot shot a small can of oxi-clean. Pretreat with the spot shot, add 1 scoop of oxi-clean to the water with the carpet cleaner clean the sofa carpet. Add 1 scoop oxi-clean with every water refill (and the capful of shampoo) it should all look like new. I use this method everytime I clean my light beige carpets it works great.

Q: I was looking at the Holland America cruise ms Veendam and I wanted to know what a sofa looks like when it is converted into a bed. Does anyone have a picture? It's an ocean view cabin.: It looks like any regular sofa bed, but is actually comfortable. It will be opened and made up as a bed in the evening, and closed up for use as a sofa the following morning, all by the cabin stewards. I have no photos, though. Addendum: Veendam is a sister ship to Maasdam, which is my personal choice among HAL ships. The sofa beds I have enjoyed on Maasdam, both doubles and queen size, work exactly the same as those found at home, and the back cushion stays in place while the seat cushions are stowed. Perhaps Veendam has another style, of course.

The sofa was the most expensive because of the amount of materials needed. I think I paid about $175 for that and about $100 each for the chairs. But I didn't have to pay labor because my mom did them for me. Some tech colleges offer upholstery classes and you can do your own for less than paying a professional or sometimes the people in the class are looking for projects to do.
