- It's this massive horseshoe shaped brown thing taking up a big chunk of the room. There is always some laying or sitting on it. Usually a teenager or two playing on the laptop while texting. - The fact that you have used all those products on it especially the oils is the reason it is looking like it is. You should only use water based products to clean and protect your leather. If you use oils you clog up the surface and then the leather cannot absorb moisture and so it dries out and cracks. Also as you have used oils on it any new pigment you try to colour it with will not adhere to the surface and it will therefore fail. Shoe colour will not work but just come off on peoples clothes. If you do want it recoloured consult a leather technician who will be able to do it properly.
- Q: My dogs are 8 months old and one of the licks the sofa cushions constantly. I'm not sure why but it's really gross to try to sit down with these huge wet spots (about 10-12 in diameter.) - I find that with each time I move and re-decorate, I get more daring. For your first house, play it safe. Stick with the earthy colors and keep the decor simple. Embellish with pictures and accessories that you like. Decide if you like cool tones or warm tones and stick with one or the other throughout. I like decorating with paint - you can change it if you don't like it without costing a fortune. In fact, it is good to have one color for the main living area and work off of that color throughout. Once that is done, you can get comfortable with the theme and you'll know more where you want to go from there - every house has a different feel to it. From there, you can go bolder with a foyer or add an accent wall color, or you can add a faux finish or mural somewhere. Sometimes after painting a room neutral, you can get a painting or print and decorate around it. In fact, that is how I do bathrooms. I pick out a shower curtain that I really love and decorate the entire room around it. It already provides my color pallete, so there isn't much creativity that has to go into the colors. I watch HGTV on cable and when I see something I like, I go to their website and print it out if it's there.

- If you don't need it as a sleep sofa you can retro fit it w/ lumber plywood if you or any friends have carpentry skills can fix it that way, I'll be doing that shortly w/ mine!
- Q: I'm trying to find new covers for this sofa but I don't know the make of it so it's proving very tough....It's creamy yellow, has buttoned up removable covers, the buttons run up the center of it's back and it has some on it's front at the base, it measures 92cm deep, 205cm wide and 75cm high. - I would venture to guess that it's a custom slipcover. If you don't see tags on the inside of it and it fits like a glove then my thinking is probably accurate. As for the sofa. Under the sofa should be information...Stamped to the wood or on a label as to the origin of the sofa...Have a look.

- Each time your cat urinates on the couch, it soaks into the cushion, further further. My advice to you, would be to call Stanley Steemer ask if they can clean the sofa for you. They may have chemicals that will eliminate the odor. If I was you, I'd go to the Pet Store buy a bottle of spray that smells tastes like bitter apples. A pet store employee will know the name of it. Spray it daily on the sofa once it's been cleaned. It will not harm your cat but he will think twice about peeing there. You need to figure out why he's not using his litter box. There's a good reason. As long as you clean out the litter box 2-3 times a day, he'll use it. Make sure the litter box remains in one place at all times.
