Q: i have a huge braided wool rug and was wondering if i could use a bissel home carpet shampooer on it. if not, how can i give it an all over cleaning? i cant afford to take it anywhere professional: Try mixing some liquid laundry soap with water in a spray bottle. Take it out side and hang it over something like a fence or a couple of chairs spray it down real good with the soap and then use the water hose with a nozzle on it to spray it down. Leave out it the sun to dry . You might have to turn it over in a few hours to help both sides dry. I would also clean both sides. Hope this helps.

Q: Three rugs have a combined area of 200 sq meters. By overlapping the rugs to cover a floor area of 140 sq meters, the area covered by exactly two rugs is 24 sq meters. Show me how.....Thanks: Is this exactly how the problem is worded. or are you missing some details or making a typo (like the area of 2 rugs being 240 and not 24) ? what do you mean by combined. I assume, if you have 3 rugs with areas(R1, R2, R3) then I wonder if the combined area is R1+R2+R3 = 200 or R1R2R3=200 (since R1+R2 =24). when you say the area covered by exactly two rugs is 24 does this mean that the RUGs are separated. Do you want to know the area of the RUGs overlapped or separated.

Q: i was playing wiff my friends and the carpet got pulled up from the ground. is there any cheap way i can help stick it back to the ground like a professional?: Depends on how big of an area you are talking about and the carpet. I have done it with a high pile carpet by cutting a small slit and injecting glue beneath the carpet and then put weight on it for a while. If it is a low pile carpet you might have a hard time hiding your incision. Maybe if you can get a syringe type injector (meat injector) you can make a small enough hole that's not visible.

Q: Which is better for office of installing the floor or laying carpet?: Do not use the carpet, because the grade is only one aspect, you have to deal with the issue of fire and so on

Q: I am making my own rug with a random pattern. One of the strands broke on the canvas and i have a large area i can't work. How do I repair this? Any help or suggestions (other than start over) would be appreciated!: I used to make my own hooked rugs...just cut a patch of canvas the approx. size of that damaged area and incorporate the patch into the rest of your wool pattern...you could thread some thread first so it will stay in place as you are hooking the rug...Since it's a random pattern it will not be noticed (only from underneath) Right?

Q: I have a smallish (3ft by 5ft) area rug that needs to be cleaned. It's not worth enough to pay a cleaner and I have hardwood floors so I'm not trying to rent a steam cleaner. I was thinking about using a clothes line between two trees and hosing it down real well with a pressurized garden hose... I have tried vacuuming and quot;beatingquot; the rug with a stick, but there is a dingy coloration that I think needs water/washing to get it looking nice. I wasn't going to use any detergents, just water and a scrub brush then let it air dry for a day or so. Does this seem like at least a semi-good idea? Q: I dropped a hot coal on my carpet today.I cut the exact same kind of carpet from my closet (to somehow put ontop of the burned area).What would be the best way of putting it in the ruined area of the carpet? Super glue? Should I hire someone? How much would it cost me?: cut a stright square around the burn get yourself some carpet tape its a glue on tape you can do this job for 20-30 bucks you cut the area out place the new piece in place makeing sure it will fit in the space perfectly then you cut some carpet glue tape ane get a carpet iron and heat the glue and place the new carpet into place thats about it you can get an iron from a home deopt or lowes for 15 bucks rental and the mateial your looking about 20-30 bucks
