Q: I have a dog and I still couldn't teach him where to pee and potty. So, I m planning to buy a carpet cleaner. Should I go with the Rug Doctor, which I used to rent and know it cleans perfect but very expensive ($700). or should I buy any other cheaper brand? Actually I don't want to spend that much for a carpet cleaner. Do you think Bissell Proheat 2X 8920 ($194) works fine for pet stains?: Yes the Bissell Proheat 2X 8920 works great on pet stains. I have an older brother and sister-in-law who have one. They used it on dog stains in there house. I worked terrific.

Q: I had the rug from work about a year ago so its pretty old but every time i go to hoover its got a large amount of white powder under it! i have no idea what it is at first i had the gross idea that it was bits of skin but there is no way that much could accumilate in such a short timewhat is it and can i get rid of it: This rug has been abused on many occasions with so called cleaning/deodorizing powders. There are several of these products on the market. They are all a rip off, as they do not vacuum back out as the directions say. This rug will continue to bleed off these powders as long as you own it. Sorry, but the manufacturers of these products are practicing a scam on the general public, who are trying to save a buck or two by not having the carpet professionally cleaned when it becomes dirty.

Q: I don't have a stitch of carpet in my house, but my floors always seem dirty, even 20 minutes after sweeping. Carpets or flooring, and why?: if i had it to do over again i would have put the snap together wood looking laminate throughout my home instead of carpet. carpet gathers more dust and pet dander, and stains. with the laminate i could have kept it clean between times with a simple swiffer mop cloth.vacuums make so much dust unless you spend an arm and a leg on them, i hate them. next time my floors are redone, it will be laminate. when we tore our carpet up i was shocked at the nastiness under it, not only the dirt that was trapped that the vacuum couldnt get, but the padding had made a lot of its own nasty dusty crap under there from being worn and walked on....i did put down berber carpet this time and no padding, not next time though. we dont wear shoes in the house, i dont know about rude,( it is rude when someone else wears their shoes on your carpet for sure) but its considered nasty, i dont wasnt someone possibly tracking dog knows what on my carpets...carpets gather dust, hair, and anything else that floats by.

Q: Hello, I need to buy a big, squared burgundy rug (or in any dark red for that matter).I want to cover a room thats 16.6 x16.6 ft It would be fine if doesnt to cover the whole room, Im just looking for possibilities. Q: Does anyone know the daily care of horse rugs? Like what to check for. Thanks..x: Daily care of rugs. My horse is in at night (weathers cold) and wears two rugs. In the morning I tie him up out side his box for breakfast the when I remove his rugs I shake them out, turn them inside out and hang in the yard to air through and if necessary dry off the pooey bits. Later that can be brushed off.. Check that the straps are in good working order also the buckles at the front. If he goes out during the day he wears his heavy waterproof rug with a neck piece and due to wetness after all the snow it gets plastered with mud from rolling. The mud dries out during the course of the day and when he comes in, it can be brushed off while he is still wearing it.. If it's wet still, hang it up to dry in a shed if possible but not near your tack as the dampness isn't good for leather. Check it all round for rips, tears and loose buckles/straps etc. When a horse starts to shed his winter coat, your work will really start! All those hairs to brush off the inside of the rug. I use a rubber curry comb or a pair of damp rubber gloves and then a good shake and hang to air out. Different rugs for different times of year - some of the lightweight ones can be put in the home washing machine once a week. When the summer arrives, get all the heavy weight ones professionally cleaned and re-proofed. Well worth the money.

Q: I noticed that my carpet has holes in it. there are tiny areas where the carpet strands are gone/eaten/disappeared/burned/etc and i don't know what it is. Also, around the area it is black or has black stuff left on the carpet (light brown carpet color). Any ideas as to what it is? How to stop it? Fix it? [also the only pets i have are fish]: there's a few things that live in carpets or breed there. but moths are the ones that are famous for holes. the larvae eat the rug then become moths. If you're lucky a little flea spray and the worms will come up so you can see them. start using boric acid or diatomaceous earth (buy the kind for this use not the pool filter material). sprinkle on carpet and brush deep with broom. Vacuum more regularly and put down more boric acid every few months at least.

Thanks and I apologize for the lame question. :): If you can't afford to get it professionally clean at this time, then take a scrub brush with full britzels, and a bucket of hot soapy water with a hint of bleach( Only if its a very light color rug) and scrub. If you have a Multi color rug, then buy some Resolve carpet cleaner(the foam bottle).
