While looking around I've come across a 200amp machine but it says it's a 200amp AC welder. it was my understanding that all welders are DC standard, and the AC current was only on welders to weld aluminum.
NO, you are wrong. Most simple common use welder runs on low voltage high current AC to weld steel, except plasma welder that requires very high voltage DC. Of course, portable welder runs on battery power high current DC where AC power source is not available.

Q: Any help regarding my question would be greatly appreciated.I have a 1991 Prevost Marathon Mirage LE Luxury Motorcoach and I am wanting to remove the Engine (Detroit 8v92) is this a job to hard for a reasonably experienced Diesel mechanic to conquer? I have all the space in the world in my game room to do this. Just wanting to know if the engine is on a slide track and it slides out (I have seen other coaches do this) or do i have to totally unmount the engine to get it out to where I can work on it? I know this is a stupid question and I don't know exactly how to word it. But any help regarding my question again would be greatly appreciated.any diesel mechanics out there? Is there a video posted somewhere on the web that may show a backyard mechanic doing this so it may enlighten me. lol

Firstly Remove The Battery Store It Safe Location.Disconnect The ,Diesel lines,Wirings,Cables,- Sesors, Modules, Then Disconnect,Gear BellHousing,Torque Coverter If There,Engine Mountigs, All Water Lines,A/c Connections,Front Grill,If You Need The Bonnet Also, Put The Rope Put Cross Bar- Tie Properly Care The Mudguards,Pull The Engine With Sufficiant Manpower Or Crane Nor Lifter. Check Once More before Takeout The Engine Assy-Wheel Blocks,Support To The Gear Box,Door Lock, Safe The Key,Nobody Not Allowed Inside The Car, Before Pullout Check Again And Make Sure Nomore- COnnections Arrange The Table Keep Everythings Ready Pullout Keep On The Table Check Externals. Make More Dismantling The Engie Take To Machine Shop They Knows What Nee for Your Engine. If Over machine Work Bring To Spot Selct New Parts What You Need Do Accordingly.

if hte control rods had not be inserted it would of catastrophic. the reactors would be working at 100% and no one can shut it down becasue there is no power. left for too long and unable to stop the reaction, it could lead to an actual meltdown like at the Chernobyl. there's a good reason why during any emergency the control rods are inserted. its standard protocol since the very first nuclear reactor experiments back in the late 1930s under some gym in the eastern USA. you want to shut down the most dangerous thing first, the one that has the most potential for catastrophe before doing anything else.

Depends on the use of the generator. Power and current are related. Divide the rated power of the generator( I assume is diesel driven) by the voltage of the area where you operate (Europe is 240) so 1000000 VA: 2404,166 ampere in the most favourable conditions (Power factor 1) usually the current value is multiplied by .7(Minimum Power Factor acceptable) which will give you a maximum continuous current of circa 3500 ampere. If you are using the generator for emergency you require an automatic starting system and a priority circuit together the standard protection panel which include: 1 Over and Under voltage protection 2 Over and Under frequency protection 3 Phase sequence 4 Overload. Most of these panels have other functions as well. If you require more information than what I have written, I suggest you look at some of the leaflets provided by manufactures
Q: I just purchased a miller big blue 400D diesel dc welder generator . I will be using 7018 rods. There are two controls on this unit, amps and volts, for best welding results, what is the best setting? I understand that metal thickness will change this this, but I' ll be starting on 1/4 plate. When using a welder,use amperage setting .You need to set the machine to the size of rod that you will be using.
Q: I have 6,500 gas generator to run two 12,500btu roof a/c units on my bus.Nothing but problem after problem with generator.I was advised to change unit out to diesel unit! Any advise on what size i should be looking for?
You don't say what the generator problems are. It may be undersized for the AC units you are trying to run plus other things you are trying to run. The AC unit may require all of the generator's capacity for about 2 seconds to start. So if one AC is running, there may not be enough capacity to start the second AC unit. What other things are you running off the generator at the same time? The 6,500 watt generator can only supply a maximum of 27 amps out of the 240 volt outlet or 15 amps out of each of the 120 volt outlets or any combination that does not exceed the 6,500 watt capacity of the generator. A diesel engine has nothing to do with the capacity of the generator. Diesel engines are used on larger capacity generators or continuous duty generator sets. The generator itself doesn't care what type of engine is spinning the rotor. Will the generator run just one of the units? If it does, then my thoughts are the generator doesn't have the capacity to run the loads you have.

Voltage output of any generator (AC or DC) relies upon on the rpm and capability of the magnetic container. So various rpm and/or sterngth of magnetic container will variety the output voltage. be conscious that various rpm of the AC generator additionally changing the frequency of the generator output.
