Q: Why not samoto diesel generator power
the contact between the exciter brush and commutator is bad or the brush holder pressure is not enough.
Q: Every time i go to the pawn shop i always end up craping my pants. I crap em so hard that i got to leave to change and come right backnext time i best bring a diaper because the pawn shop always does it to me. Everything is pretty much stolen and new so i get 50% off pawn price because they know me for years.The last time i craped my pants was when i got this really nice 2000$ diesel generator for 400$ and BAM!Didn't even feel it coming, reached in my pocket to count my cash and the next thing i knew was i got a landslide running down my leg filling up my work boot. I bought it there and then anyways with crap on my leg because it was too good a deal to let some other guy steal it, that's my job!I do it at home on the computer sometimes when i'm looking at tools on harborfreight. It never happens with anything else, why only tools?

Q: Hello im going to be a mechanic and i will have a 1998 turbo diesel H1 Hummer. Now I wanted to know since the hummer is not like a bus or a really heavy Diesel equipment that i can work on it myself like a regular car or do i have to have to be a diesel mechanic to even work on it?
Diesel engines are very similar to gasoline engines. If you have the technical knowledge to work on gasoline engines then the same principles applies to diesel engines as well. I know this is true because I took the course for auto/diesel automotive technician certification. I rebuilt them both along with carburetors, transmissions, starters, alternators, and generators. The only difference I can recall are that the diesel engines required more or less air than the gasoline engines. Of course diesel fuels burns much slower than gasoline. Therefore diesel engines might have additional mechanisms to produce or reduce the quantity of air. That is all.
Q: I just got sworn in a few weeks ago to the navy, as an engineman. I was wanting to be on a carrier but didn't know if there was any jobs for the EN rate?
Most likely work related to the diesel generator or as an auxiliaryman. All propulsion work on a carrier is done by the NUCS. edit Enginemen are often assigned as small craft engineers, operating the engines on various boats carried by the ship.

It would be cheaper in the long run to by a portable generator. The fuel wear on the engine far outweigh the cost. ???
Q: I would like to know how deep US Navy submarines usually go, how deep they can go without damage, and how long they can stay underwater. How do they obtain fresh air? The American nuclear seawolf class submarines can dive to about 2400 feet (730 m). Although the truth is likely to be deeper as the full knowledge of submarine depth is kept secret in a lot of case's. It is said that most nuclear submarines can stay under water for a year but i am not sure if this has been tested. In reality a normal tour for a nuclear submarine is about 3 months of staying under water. The only thing that stops a nuclear submarine from surfacing really is it running out of supplies. It has to resurface to take on food and other supplies for the human inhabitants that live and work on it. Diesel-electric submarines can last 2-3 weeks under water before resurfacing. Diesel/battery submarines do not dive very deep. These are quick attack sub's and often carry cruise missiles that they launch from just below the surface. There is special machinery on board that recycles and purifies the air. When a sub surfaces it take on natural air through hatches or snorkel (Diesel subs). Submarines do not have windows because they are useless. It is dark under water so you will not see anything and navigation is done by sonar so there is no use for windows. The goal of a sub is to stay undetected so sailing around with windows and lights beaming everywhere isn't wise.

I would like to help--but I need to know what size of generator you want 2.8 k-12 k ; and what type of fuel Gasoline, propane, diesel. I would ask why don't you mount a Onan Micro quite or light into the side or front of your fifth wheel---but with out seeing your trailer I have no idea what to recommend
Q: I live in southern Indiana, and am currently living through an awesome ice storm. Anyway, my parents bought a diesel powered portable generator. It is hooked into the main panel of the house. When you crank it up and turn the lights in the house on, they flicker, as does the TV screen. It has proper voltage on each leg of the 240. I brought my generator over and everything works fine. Any ideas?
some where your not getting a secure connection,but look at it this way,it beats not havin power,a little flicker here and there is better than no flicker at all, i bet the people that has nothing is wishing for a flicker
Q: I have a generator in the building I am working on. It appears quite dated, but its stats are as follows: it’s a 415 Volt 3 Phase Diesel Generator.On the plate of the generator:415V3 Phase640KVA520KWPower Factor 0.8902 AmpsSo my question is:We are testing the generator to its full load, now my load is at power factor 1. Would I be correct in assuming that because my load is power factor 1 that the full load of my generator is 640kW not 520kW.Or is it that my actual power loading is rated at 520kW, but that load is allowed to be inductive or capacitive to 0.8.Because it says 900 amps on the plate I am therefore under the assumption that regardless of my load characteristics, as long as I do not exceed 900 amps there should be no problem. Or is it a case that my load can only be 520kW and the highest I can allow the phase to go out is up to 640kVA.Hope that makes sense, ill edit if not. Thanks for reading.
Treat all of the figures as maximum rated outputs. The maximum power it can delivery is 520kW, that is why it says 520kW. 640kVA and power factor 0.8 should not be be exceeded either but if your load is pf1 then the 520kW will take precedence. No offence but anyone who can't interpret these numbers shouldn't really be testing equipment of this power.
