- Q:i have a ASUS M4A87TD-USB3 mobo and a Corsair 550 Watts Power Supply. Ive looked in the manual andit says you need to connect the one that ive connected and a 4 pin. It says that if you dont connect the 4 pin the computer wont boot! is there a way around this or it f**ked?
- Before purchasing a power supply you should always first check to see if it is compatible with your motherboard in the following two aspects: 1) Does it provide enough power for the motherboard 2) Does it have the appropriate connectors for my motherboard. There are also issues with certain high performance processors requiring very clean or high regulated power supplies (i.e. very little ripple, etc). As long as the power supply offers the voltages you need on one of the connecters, there is probably some sort of adaptor you can purchase... or you could hack something together. But, again, the power supply may have intentionally left off the connector you need because it does not fulfill the strict electrical specifications required by your motherboard. In other words, if you don't know what you are doing, it is probably best to just purchase the correct power supply for your hardware. Forcefully adapting an inappropriate power supply into your machine may later result in unstable system performance.

- Q:i want to use a 120 vac extention cord wire for the power cable to my amp, is this safe? extention cords have a heavier gage than the wire in radio shack and such and is much cheaper. i dont see why this would be a problem considering car batteries are only 12 volts vs. 120 volt extention cord raiting
- HAAAAAA HAAAA HAAAA! No really, come on! Yes this will work. As long as the current required doesn't overload the wire. Meaning that you will have to have a heavy enough guage wire to handle the load. Otherwise,,,,,meltdown. Now I would highly discourage the use of home electrical wire for the purpose of car audio. You need a good clean, true source of power to feed your amps. It's your system, but the weakest link will always rear it's ugly head when you least expect it. My advice.....Drop some cash and get the right stuff the first time. Otherwise you WILL be doing it over again.
- Q:My friend I were going to play his second Xbox 360 n his living room. Went to turn it on and the RROD turned up with three lights. So we took this one and hooked it up to the cables in his room. And guess what? No RROD... So, I am lead to belive that the Xbox 360's power cable is the one that causes the RROD. - Check the light on the power supply. If it's red, then that means your problem is with your power supply. That's what Microsoft says RIGHT THERE on their website.

- yes, it's completely submersible and safe for the filter and part of the cord to be in the aquarium.... note: as another poster has pointed out, that's a crappy filter. If you ever get a real aquarium, buy better equipment.

- This probably isn't the greatest answer, but I usually err on the side of caution and buy super heavy duty cords. I replaced a guitar amplifier cord last year with a ridiculous, braided cable that could probably power a jackhammer. I've had no problems with it.
- Q:My setup is an alpine MRX-M100 powering 2 alpine type R 12's on 4 ohm, and also an old eclipse PA 5422 speaker amp. The main thing is I have 4 gauge running from my battery to my amps, but I have this sort of distribution block that turns the 4 gauge wire into 2 8 gauge wires. I know that this probably isn't the best for the MRX-M100, but it's all I had or what I could afford at the time. The main thing I wanted to ask was is this bad for the amp, and what would it be like if I had 0 gauge coming off the battery so then it would be 4 gauge going to the amps? Would it be louder? Could I turn it up higher? because right now if I turn up the volume past a certain point the subs will just stop playing. If I just shut off my head unit and turn it back on they start up again. Your thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated!
- then (big three upgrade)watch a video on this.its some wiring upgrades under the hood.if your sub woofer is cutting out like you said its not getting enough power.any charging system upgrades you can do will help.remember this the alternator is the heart of your charging system if you have a chance to swap this out at least buy one that puts out at least double the amps that your factory alternator is putting out.this will not harm your car and will do wonders for your sound system.

- You say is the power supply power? Is not the power supply voltage! Power supply is W, that is, tile. Power power is insufficient, it is said that the components will accelerate the aging, aging components are easy to burn, components on the motherboard, of course, is burning the motherboard Oh, and power supply is also easy to cause computer instability. Crash, restart .... and so on. If your power is not enough power, it should be for a larger power and is guaranteed quality power such as Hunt, the Great Wall and so on. - You will need to look up the motherboard manufacturer to find the pinout for the cabling. That would be the fastest way. or you could use a small flat screw driver to short the pins until you find the right combo...the latter could result in damaging your mainboard but not likely. You will need to look at the original case plug if possible. HP/Compaq do not list the pinout nor is it written on the board. all it it listed as is HPanel1.
