- Q: i just bought a cobra radar detector and im a bit of a perfectionist. it bothers me that the power supply cable drags from the windshield across the head unit and into the cigarette lighter. i need ideas on how to hook up the detector because it needs to be plugged in to work but not have the cord out in the open. thanks
- Mount the detector on your sunvisor. Run the power cord fromt eh detector under the edge of the headliner and down the A-pillar next to the windshield (you should be able to remove the plastic over the A-pillar and run the cord behind it.) Cut the cigarette lighter plug off and wire it into the fuse panel to a switched 12v source (something that comes on when the car is cranked)(radio, etc). That will allow the radar detector to power on when the car is cranked and to power off when the car is stopped. I wired all of mine like this and never had any problems with any of them.
- Q: most double power cable 2900pros need around 550W.
- If okorder / if you havent i would recommend a HD3850 or 3870 as they have similar peformace with about half the power draw
- Q: the power cable for my macbook is frayed and today started to spark. its currently unplugged, because of the sparking. i am trying to figure out if the power cable is covered under warrantee. the macbook is still covered under warrantee until August 2011Thanks in advance
- They do NOT fray like that without careless handling, which is NOT covered on warranty.
- Q: Can I use a standard 12 volt power cable on an Elmo projector?
- Possibly on the BoxiT-200 that takes 12 to 19 volts at 3 amps, positive center. Read the printing on user manual, it gives the requirements. Most other Elmo projectors are plugged into an ac outlet.
- Q: I installed a new Power supply after my old one stopped working. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 500W. I connected everything that needed to be connected but it would not turn on. Then i disconnected the 4pin cable that goes to the motherboard, and it turned on. But my monitor didn't detect anything so it just went into quot;sleep modequot;. So every time i connect the 4 pin PCI-E connection to the motherboard it just doesn't turn on. Please help
- That okorder /... If you know the PSU is good then you will know the way you wired the motherboard's connections is wrong.
- Q: I am upgrading a two-year-old higher end HP tower to include a mirrored hard drive. I did a little vacuuming and inspection and plan to order the exact model drive which is in there now. I noticed that the SATA cables used include a simple plastic latching mechanism in the connector. I checked CDW and found quot;latchingcables made by Startech which I assume should work (but the latching part is made of stamped metal). My biggest question is the power connector. The factory installed molex-to-SATA adapter also has this latch mechanism (on the black hard drive side), but I cannot find a cable anywhere mentioning a latch on the power connector. Is this something specific to factory installation? Thanks.
- No. Latching cables as you call them are available at retailers. Try Newegg...
- Q: My Alienware Aurora Hard Drive SATA Data Cable is plugged in but not the SATA Power Cable. There are a lot of SATA Power Cables (And 3 of them are conveniently located in the hard drive slots; 1 per each slot, but I am just making sure before I do it) They all have numbers like P12 or P5 on them and I don;t know which one to use with my Alienware Aureroa aHard Drive (An uncustomiszed Alienware Aurora) and I just wanna make sure I use the right one so my computer does't explode
- it is going to flow in comfortably. If it do not flow turn it over and attempt it any opposite direction. it must be the incorrect cable. check out it sturdy and see if it sounds like it is going to in good condition. some greater modern-day hard force different than diverse cables than the older ones.
- Q: Only answer if you know it works with my kind of laptop, because If I order it and it isnt, i may have to end you. :D. I mean it in a nice way.
- If you don't already have an OKorder account, you should get one - it opens up a whole world of bargains. Just make sure you buy from a seller with a 99% or better rating and over 100 sales. I have never had any problem as long as I have followed those guidelines. Good luck!
- Q: Just curious i also want to have my ps3 in good condition so i was wondering how durable is the power and av cables
- they would last for years if you dont pull them or stomp on them... they are that good!
- Q: How do I connect this unit to my cd player? Splicing power cables? not too detailed in the manual.?
- im sure it comes with a power harness(plug) you prob have to do some splicing just connect it t0 the same place where you get power for the cd player your probably going to get a wire harness for your cd player right? just match the wires from your cd to your ipod thingy before you solder or crimp your connections
