- Well the older models don't, but the newer models do. Theres either 6-pin, 8-pin, one 8-pin one 6-pin etc.
- Q: Explain why a bird sitting on a 400 kV power transmission cable is not electrocuted?
- Electrocution is created by the passage of electric current through living organs. A bird sitting on a 400 KV power line is charged at 400 KV but it takes a *potential difference* to cause current to flow. As the bird is only touching one side of the 400 KV line there is no potential difference across the bird therefore no current flows thru it. Hence bird isn't electrocuted.
- Q: I like to play my PSP at home quite a bit. When I do I plug in the AC adapter so that the battery power doesn't get used up unnecessarily. I see that when I have it plugged into the wall that under the system information it says that the power is being used from an external source instead of the PSP's battery. I take it then that the battery won't overcharge and it's OK to use it this way, or do I have to remove the PSP's battery when using the power cable?
- It is fine. The PSP is just telling you that it is taking power from the outlet instead of the battery.
- Q: i have the computer powersupply 400w and i dont know what cable to connect to the car stereo???
- If is an aftermarket head unit , connect the thick yellow (continuous power) and red (accessory power) wires together to the positive red wire of the power supply 12V. Next connect the black wire (ground) with the black wire of the power supply. You should be ready now.
- Q: Hey,I left my PS3 in the living room, and I think the dog peed up it. Stupid place to leave it, I know. Anyway, I brought it back upstairs, hooked it up but when I went to plug the power cable in, there was a real loud buzzing sound coming from the PS3, right where the cable goes in. When I unplug it from the PS3, it stops. I tried leaving it to dry, and making sure there was no moisture present inside the machine, but I tried hooking it up again and got an electric shock up my arm from it.Should I buy a new cable, leave it to dry, or is there something inherently wrong with the PS3 now?Thanks :)
- Ive never come across this before. Maybe its because i don't no anyone who has a dog which has peed up there PS3. I would suggest you dont get a other cable because that one might break aswell due to water getting in your ps3. If i was you i would contact Playstation or the store you got it from for more advice. Like i say im not sure and i dont think many people will come across this problem.
- Q: i have an amp with an 80a fuse i figure i shoud use a power cable with a 100a inline fuse what guagee should i use? also can i get two 8 guage wires with 50a inline fuses both to the ampthanks guys
- I also use an 2 channel amplifier with an 80amp fuse on board (I'm running two of them actually). If you are only running the one amplifier, 4 gauge cable is a safe option. If you're going to be running more amps, go 0 gauge. The only time you'd look at running multiple power cables from the battery is if your audio application demands it (like SPL cars, that run anything in excess of 4 amplifiers with MEGA continuous running power and also running multiple batteries at that, too). I don't think you're going that far, so the single run would be sufficient. From your 4 gauge cable, run a distribution block with however many points of 4 gauge cable running to your other amps. - Q: HiIs it advisable to run 110VAC cable from the sub stationa and 110VAC cable from generator (clean) in the same conduit ; one of them for lighting and the other for CCTV; the concern is if the one for lighting is not clean (not consisting of a pure sine wave or carrying interference) would that effect the power line of the CCTV and has an effect on the picture? even though both are 110VAC.the installation is over seas where the power from the station is not consistence.
- if the two are not shielded from each other they will cause interference... run two seperate metal conduits,, or use shielded AC cable in the same conduit ,, ground the shields and the conduit!!!

- That's a SATA drive - you're looking for a black connector, something like the one connected to the drive. If you don't have one (the white one that looks like it's touching the back of the drive in the picture is a PATA power plug), you can buy an adapter, so you can power the drive with the PATA plug.

- Q: So I'm currently living in a dorm room, and my tv is hooked up to the campus cable system. A couple of minutes ago, the power went off and turned back on right away, and I was watching tv during this. Now the power is working but the cable is not, all the channels are nothing but static.I've tried resetting my tv, but I'm wondering what else I could do. Other tvs hooked up to cable in my dorm aren't working either, so is there something wrong with the entire cable system?
- Yes, there is. Probably either a fuse blew cutting power to the distribution amplifier or the DA itself failed due to surges surrounding the power failure.
