- Q: hi can some 1 help me? my problem is my harddrive just stops working its happend twice now.so i unpluged the sata power lead from the hard drive and from the power supply plugged it all back in and worked fine for months and today it happend again so i did the same thing and all is good again.so could my lead be dodgey or could it be my harddrive.if it is my lead where can i buy a proper multi sata power from thanx.
- first of all do you have another sata power connector you can plug into the hard drive? if you do then try that. or do you have a spare sata drive you can plug into the current power adaptor? if the drive functions correctly from the change in power adapters or the spare drive has issues your power supply may be bad. otherwise you may want to contact the manufacture of the hard drive and do a warranty replacement. or just buy a new hard drive. chances are your hard drive is going to fail on you. either that or make sure the connection is secure and don't hit your pc Note if your optical drive is sata as well swap the connections from drive to drive and see if your disk drive acts up instead of your hard drive.
- Q: i'm using an older mac at uni to do illustration, i pulled the computer round to put a tablet in it and the computer shut down, there are about 20 computers in the lab....the power cable at the back that is connected to the monitor is loose, i tried to put it back in but it's crackling....can i get electrocuted from putting it back in? i can't shut down all the computers so there's still electricity running through...thanks
- This is not a prob man i also use my monitor with a wire which is worn out from one terminal all you have to put some electric tape on it
- Q: I just moved to the UK, and I have a US xbox 360 slim, I still have the power brick and everything. My friend here has a power cable that will fit the US power brick (it is from his UK xbox). Can I plug in the UK cable to the US power brick then plug it like I normally would into my 360? Or will that fry the power adapter or xbox? Thanks!!
- Ya you can plug it in. It should be fine b/c its all emitting the same amount of power. I think. lol

- A very high power surgeon could cause it. Very high current transfer of a short circuit could cause burning of the cable. Power cables have materials which have very high resistance (rubber materials mostly) but could burn in a not very high temperature.
- Q: the adapter is fine but the safety pin (the big one) on my power cable broke, do you know where I can buy the power cable for an HP pavilion dv9500 laptop? on the cable it says quot;LS-15 7A 125V LINETEK E70782quot;.also, is it safe to use it although the 3rd pin is gone? it still works but i wouldn't want to fry my notebook...thank you
- Contact HP, this laptop was designed for Vista so more than likely there are no drivers available for xp.
- Q: HelloWhen i turn on my computer without 4 pin ATX +12 volt power cable my computer starts and everything goes fine but when i connect it to my motherboard my computer does not start.i want to know that is this cables necessary for normal computer operation or i can go without it??I am using ATX 20+4 pin main power cable for my motherboard power.
- The 4-pin 12V ATX connector (yellow and black wires) supplies voltage to the Voltage Regulator MOSFETS that power the processor. If not connected, processor does not power up at all. If it is connected and PC does not start, power supply is sensing an overload/short on the VRM circuit, thus enabling PSU overload protection to protect PSU and motherboard as well. I am suspecting that either motherboard (at VRM portion) is grounded to PC case or the cooler is touching a circuit of the VRM. Try remounting motherboard and/or cooler.
