- Q: Stains on carpet
- Stains need to be treated before steam cleaning. The best cleaner in the world won't remove the stains by itself.

- The carpet will probably be fine, however the tortoise itself would probably prefer sand or gavel as well. Tortoises are not water reptiles as you probably already know, and the carpet is a great idea, but just to be sure it might be a good idea to allow it the choice of sand/carpet and it will probably let you know which it prefers.
- Q: I want to know which carpet cleaner is better the Hoover Platinum or the Rug Doctor. I am just using this for my home. Anything better I don't need the huge professional monsters.
- If the Hoover Platinum is a steam cleaner, that would be good to use. The best way to clean your carpets is with a steam cleaner, and please open your windows in your home a crack, and possibly turn the heat up a little in the evening, to help the carpets dry quickly, and help the air to circulate and it's the best way. Should be dry within 3-4 hrs. Take care.
- Q: I purchased this house last year Sept. 17 2010. From day 1 I had severe problems. The ceilings in the back fell from a Norway rat eating the pipes. I did a mold test and Black Mold was a positive. The walls have been removed and replaced. The rat problem stopped after a Professional Trapper was hired. The house has been completed changed. - Q: I had the rug from work about a year ago so its pretty old but every time i go to hoover its got a large amount of white powder under it! i have no idea what it is at first i had the gross idea that it was bits of skin but there is no way that much could accumilate in such a short timewhat is it and can i get rid of it
- There are pretty much three things it could be.... 1 - Powder - There are several cleaning products that are on the market today that people sprinkle on the rug so that it smells good - every time you vacuum more will come out till it is all gone. 2 - Dust - If it is an old rug then there is a good chance that it is simply dust. 3 - Fibers - If the rug is not in good condition then sometimes the fibers break apart and fall out when you vacuum but this is most common with old silk rugs. If you think it is one of the top two then simply turn over the rug and slowly vacuum the from the back (make sure to use a vacuum with bristles). The vibrations will cause whatever is in the rug to fall out. After you are done - turn the rug over and vaccume the front side, collect the dust from the floor and repeat the process till almost all the white powder is gone. Hope I was helpful :)

- oops! okorder IF the rug is cotton or similar plant fiber. If your rug is poly fibers, toss it... no amount of dying will stay.
- Q: I'd like to know how REAL fur coats, bear skin rugs, etc. are made (by hand not industrial process) as I don't believe its tanning like in leather as it requires the fur to be stripped. I know the animal is killed and harvested, but someone please start after that and tell me as I'm trying to do research for a story I'm working on and I have no experience at this aspect. - I'm a floor manager in a Specialty Pet Food Store (Not Petco or Petsmart, a very high end store), and allow me to give you a few tips... Trust me Simple Solution will work, even if its soaked to the carpet pad.... there is no need of replacing carpet. Simple Solution is amazing, its not only bacteria fighting enzymes but they add a bacteria fighting bacteria. This bacteria only works when its at least moist. the best way to clean is to use simple solution, let it soak in all the way to the carpet pad. Then clean up with a wet rag. Then spray a little bit more, making the area just slightly damp, this will kill the bacteria that cause odor. Do not be afraid to repeat a time or two. DO NOT DRY IT OUT!!!!
