Q:looking to get carpet for 1 room: Just a standard carpet will average around $3,50 a s/f installed. Of course you can do higher or lower, it all depends on the over all quality of the carpet. Most carpet comes in 12 and 15' wide rolls so you ll need extra to seam it together.So you can t go just by the 13x13 ( 169 s/f) of the room size. In 12 foot widths you ll need a pc 12x15 or 180 s/f or a pc 15x13 ( 195 s/f) to fit the room. The are some patterned carpet that come 13'6. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

Q:hi im 14 and love stuff for my room, i just got it re-painted and i got new things for it, today i purchased a rug from Home sense, its 5 by 7 and really nice, it was $159 canadian dollars but was originally(get this) $300!it was made in china and says its hand made the brand/company is:Momeni its soft and pretty but all the rugs there were made in India and stuff...what do ui do..its non-refundable.: If it's non-refundable, you can't do much except tell the manager of the store that you don't appreciate that this rug was made by children in a sweatshop. Well, first you would actually need proof that it was made by kids, but that takes a lot of research sometimes. Look up the company and see what you find out. And if it is made in a sweatshop, then make a complaint to the manager of the store where you bought it from.

Q:So I have this cheap $20 rug from walmart thats teal. I did away with it for a while but now that I want my room redone, I want a black rug to go in front of a futon. How would I go about dyeing this rug instead of buying a new one and leaving this one to collect dust? It has a plastic wired bottom to hold the rug together and to act slip resistant. Would dyeing it affect it?: Whether dyeing would work depends on what fibre it's made of. If it's wool or cotton, it would dye quite well with ordinary dyes, though it might present a few difficulties since dyes usually call for being heated, and a lot of rinsing after. If it's a synthetic fibre, which it very likely is, it might not dye at all because synthetics don't absorb dye very well, if at all. If they do, they usually require processes that would be very difficult to achieve with a rug, such as heating the dye bath with the item in it. All in all, it's probably not worth even trying. Find a cheap black rug to buy.

Q:I need a good turnout rug for my delightful stallion as he manages to break every rug I put on him, wether it being ripping off a belly strap (which I don't know how he does because he is in a field with post and electric fence, so there is no barbed wire or anything for him to tear it on) or he breaks the clips on the leg straps, then the rug slides. I need a proper turnout rug, with a bit of quilting for winter, not just a thin sheet. Thanks in advance: It doesn't matter so much what brand you get, just look for the denier count (don't get blankets with denier under 1000 as they're easily ripped). Some of Pessoas turnouts have a denier of 1800 while the average blanket is only around 800. Pessoa blankets cost a little more, but it's cheaper than buying a new rug every year! Hope this helps!

Q:I haven't vacuumed my carpet in over 2 months and its really dirty. I know its disgusting but I hate this flat so much and I rarely come here, just to sleep. My room mate has a vacuum but its a standing up one and I hate those which is why I hate doing it plus my room is small and has a lot of stuff in it (huge walldrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers, bedside table, 2 person sofa, storage boxes, 2 chairs). Anyway we have mice and I put down sticky pad things and I found what I think is silverfish on it so I REALLY want to clean it properly now. Should I buy a carpet cleaner? I heard using vinegar but I'm not sure how. How would you go about cleaning it? should I just vacuum it continuously for like 10 minutes lol? And yes I know its gross but I'm really lazy.... don't judge me =/: Trap or poison the mice, two people died last week from hantivirus somewhere in california, I believe. go to a supermarket and rent a carpet cleaning machine, use very little soap as soap residue is hard to remove, when left in the carpet it becomes a sticky dirt attracting magnet.

I shampoo the carpets about every 6 months, and we don't even wear shoes in the house.: Teekie just the dust that accumulates over a six month period is a lot. If the water is that dirty I would suggest vacuuming more often, be sure the bag in your vacuum is empty or clean when using it. I would also suggest maybe using a different brand of carpet cleaner you may not be getting the carpet as clean as you think are if you are steam cleaning every six months.
