- Q: My pony is not clipped and I was wandering what weight rug I should put him in in winter if at all. Should I put him in a stable rug when he is in his stable, and should I put a rug on him when he is out?Should I ride him in an exercise sheet as well?
- new zealand rugs are great for colder weather in the outdoor pasture. if your barn is closed off from the wind then a regular fleece rug should do the trick at night. you can ride him with out a sheet on as his fur will keep him warm enough. if you bathe him after you ride him make sure you put a wet/dry sheet so he doesn't get chills and get sick. there are thicker winter coats for barn and stall use for nighttime as well but i think he/she should be good for the most part. BTW, any horses over 12 hands are not called ponies, they are put in the horse category. under 12 hands is a pony technically speaking.
- Q: I have a light beige and ivory rug with blue and green details. It doesn't match my decor, which is neon pink, bright green, and gold. How can I get rid or dye out the blue parts of the rug? What about bleach?
- You want to do this at a laundromat, biggest machine possible. in cold water, bleach the rug. It may take two tries---using the largest possible machine, try a cup of detergent and a cup of bleach, and see what happens. If you get the desired shade, or lighten it enough, then you can immediately dye it (To a darker shade, of course.) Otherwise, double or triple the bleach, no detergent, and run it again. You may put additional bleach in the compartment where the fabric softener goes, and it will bleach it again on the rinse cycle. After you dye it, as a courteousy to the next person, run it through a cycle with detergent, empty. Or you can do a load of dark, old clothes, like blue jeans. To dry it, lay it on a flat surface, turning it occasionally, and avoid direct sunlight, ideally it will be in the shade on a warm, breezy day. If indoors, dry it on an old sheet on a carpet, with a fan pointed at it, again, turning it every hour or two. Good-luck---Brian
- Q: How do I get blush (as in makeup) out of my carpet. My cat was crawling on my desk and now I have some in my carpet. My dad is going to kill me if he sees this. can anyone suggest anything?
- you might just try soap and water...even a little liquid detergent...not too much...it soaps up pretty quickly...i use an old wash cloth with a little water and then add the soap to it....keep rubbing..then add more water if its too soapy...hopefully it will come out....if it comes out to your liking then keep blotting the area with paper towels to absorb the moisture.......good luck what ever method you find...........

- Q: is the carpet easy to have bugs on it, and how to deal with it?
- Should spread some mothball powder evenly on the carpet, and put it under the carpet where is easy to have bugs. the storage of the carpet, while the corner and around , two or three years after the carpet paved. the parts of the carpet that is easy to have bugs. Because these parts are not often stepped on and clean out the dust: 1. 4. This is because the wooden floor is easy to absorb moisture, making the worm survive, but do not solarize it, all parts of the carpet may have worms. to save the pest problems, you need to maintain the cleanness of the carpet, and sprinkle a layer of mothball powder to avoid the worms. there is dust and air on the washed carpet, so you should move it to outside and hang out in the sun. 2. The carpet having used for one year is easy to have worms, especially the carpet on the terrazzo ground. you'd better wax the wooden floor. 3, carpet paved on wooden floor . Because there is a gap between the warp and weft threads. we list some parts of the carpet that is easy to have bugs. Preferably above the ground for half a meter to one meter height. the parts above 3 to 1 meters is easy to have insects. if it continues to be used , the middle part of the general carpet need to be cleaned up with chemical drugs because it is not easy to have worms. 4. The effective methods to avoid the carpet having bugs. 2, and then wrap and bundle it tightly in the ventilation place. when you reuse it, you should brush and dry it before you pave it on the ground. 3, there is still air flowing into the carpet after paved on the ground, and because of the characteristics of textile, there will be bugs under certain conditions, so the ground should be cleaned out.
- Q: My apt is approx. 900 sq ft. Minus the 2 bathrooms, and dining and kitchen rooms is about 860 sq ft maybe. I want my old carpet to be replaced with the soft carpet. The one that is not too furry. Not Berbar carpets and not commercial. My current one is 10 years old and is commercial. I hate it cuz it roughens my feet over the years and i have to wear slippers.
- 860 square feet is 95.5 yards. The style of carpet you want is a sculptured plush, which can retail anywhere from 17.99 a yard upwards to 35.00 a yard. If you were to figure 19.99 a yard, for instance times 95 yards you would have around 1910.00 for only the carpet! You must also take into consideration the following costs: Removal of old carpet and pad- both the labor and the hauling away. New pad. Installation labor costs. Any cost for furniture or appliance moving or disconnecting. Moldings or cove base or quarter round. If your landlord was looking at commercial carpet it is due to the fact that it will stand up to the normal abuse most tennants subject flooring to. I work in a flooring store and I also own a rental. I know the usual life of carpet in a rental and the cost of the materials and labor for my area. In your area, it is likely that your costs would be much higher than here, since I live in a small town. Hope that helps! p.s. without actually looking at the installation area in person, to quote you a realistic price would be impossible!
- Q: I bought a turquoise accent rug from target and it's bleeding onto my tile. The label says spot clean only but if I put it in the washing machine will all of the color come out? Is there any other way to clean it?
- Hmm. I have bought the same type of rug only in a dark blue with the note to spot clean. I had the same thing happen except on linoleum. I didn't really pay much for it so I thought I'd try washing it on a gentle cycle, the materials it was made from was pretty durable (don't know what yours is made of) so I washed alone and added vinegar to the wash (which is said will set the color). I washed mine on a medium load to make sure the water completely covered the rug, add the vinegar to the water as its filling. I poured mine in but if I had to guess I used about 2 cups and don't use detergent. I stopped the cycle and let the rug sit in the solution for about 1/2 hour then continued the wash cycle. I thought it did a good job. I used the vinegar/water wash a few times and noticed that it did help with the bleeding. Good luck whatever you end up doing.
- Q: I have a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the dead battery in the back of my car spilled and ate some nice size holes in the carpet. I was wondering if anyone knew the approximate cost of new carpet from the dealership, and how hard it would be for someone to install the carpet themselves?
- about $100 for replacement carpeting for the front of mine same year same problem but this was happened in 2003. I installed it myself and I didn't have any problems except cutting it to size since the carpeting they sold me didn't fi quite right. When I traded it in they didn't mention that it looked replaced or knock anything off for it.

- Q: I was painting my nails this morning with bright pink nail varnish and i dropped it and it splashed all over my cream carpet, bed and white draws i have sorted the bed and staws out but the carpet is left!i have tried nail varnish remover but it smudged it! would 1001 work? what else?
- To remove nail polish from carpets, nail polish remover will work but you need to use caution because it can also remove dye from your carpet or upholstery. You can try and bleach your carpet, but only if you have a white carpet. also; You can remove nail polish stain of a fabric, carpets, and counter tops using Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3. We tried it on our quilt an it made the nail polish stain just disappear, like magic! You can purchase it at any hardware store. We purchased it at The Home Depot for about $6.00. It also removes permanent ink and marker stains.
