- Q: Over the weekend our 1997 Honda Civic sedan developed an interesting problem. After starting the car and pushing on the brake I cannot shift the auto transmission out of Park. So I first have to manually unlock it, shift to Neutral and then start the car. Also the horn is now not working. I checked the horn fuse which was blown and replaced it but upon trying to test the horn the fuse blew again. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

- Check the fuse. Also, check the codes(from the computer using jumper wire in the buss line connection in the ignition wiring harness) from the repair manual(if even possible on your car). Or of course take it to a shop, let them figure it out.but you should be fine to simply drive it. Just no air bags for now. Don't hit or get hit. :)

- the check engine light will come on for many reasons before you,ll know anything you,ll have to get the computer scanned and find out what code it gives you then you can tell what made it come on even a bad set of plugs in one can set a check engine light to come on,and i wont tell you to go out and start buying parts until you can at least get it scanned ,auto zone will scan it for free then you,ll know without having to pay a diagnoses fee on it,good luck .
- Q: I just got this check engine light. I‘m pretty sure my car is well kept.I need to change the spark plugs sometime, according to the maintenance schedule.The only thing I have done different is put in 0% ethanol fuel (no added ethanol) in the vehicle (which I thought was great at the time!). Now, the gas has done pretty well (xD!), but this engine light is on.I read the code and it is p0456, which is associated with emissions. So something between the gas tank and the engine is leaking.Could it be the fuel? Should I just wait and see next time I load up on ethanol % (boooo!) fuel? Should I just change the gas cap and see? - Generally you want to change your oil every 3,000 miles or 3 months, which ever comes first. I'm not 100% sure of the dash lights on a cavalier but, I drive a chevy too, and I don't have an oil light so this could be your sign that its time to change the oil.

- most likely,most auto part stores can check the charging system for you,or just the alternator,lights are probably staying on due to low voltage,if alternator checks out good,check for a short between alternator and battery
- Q: I have a McColloch HID Kit for about 3 yrs now with no issues. In the last couple months, the passenger side flickers sometimes when going over bumps(pot holes). I checked all connections and they seemed to be ok. Now, the headlights are not always coming on with the "Auto" headlights feature like it used to. The fog lights and marker lights come on but not the low beams. I have to turn the lights off and on again and then it will work. Thoughts PLEASE ?!
- You most likely need a new system. If they are not turning on all the time, it means the igniter is beginning to fail. The flickering is probably from bad bulbs, not the wiring. I've had the same issues before, and had to buy a new kit. See if McColloch will give you a deal, they are a pretty reputable company.
