Q:Had my oil changed at a place and they told me my check engine light my come on after doing so. He told me how to reset it however I can not remember how he said to do it.Anyone know about this??
Total BS, the CEL function is to warn operators of malfunctions detected by any of the cars onboard diagnostic systems, powertrain, body, transaxle, etc. Many faults may illuminate the light, if serious enough it will flash at you, indicating a serious problem which may be unsafe for youor damaging to the vehicle. If the CEL light is , or has illuminated there will be a diagnostic code stored in the PCM, or TCM, etc. This will indicate the area or circuit which has been involved in a failure event. Some failures take more than one event to set a hard code, but the problem will still be stored as an indicator for up to 55 start cycles.
Q:Light continues to flash and I can not start my car until it stops.
it sounds like an ign cyl issue, not a ign switch, do you have a aftermarket vehicle starter, if so get rid of it cause its wired into the factory system and they screw up. i have replace alot of ignition cylinders and have also removed alot of aftermarket car starters, start with removing the car starter if you have one, if not replace the ignition cylinder, 20 yrs at a gm dealer, glen
Q:Does the truck have a self diagnosis tool that can tell me the code for the check engine light? Like some Chrysler /Dodge products if you turn the key 3 times a code will appear on the dash. What about the GMC?
The 2002 yukon does not have self diagnosis built into this system. You can call around some of your local auto parts stores and see if any of them have a scanner and will run a free test. Most autozone stores have this service.Best of luck.
Q:what causes the emissions control system waring light to come on in a f 150 2005?
Many things. First thing to do is check with Ford dealer to see if there is any emission warranty left on the truck. Some things are covered for up to 8 years. I have seen many people try to save themselves money by fixing themselves or going to fly by night mechanics and putting on hundreds or thousands of dollars to try and fix the problem when it is a $5 cracked hose or gasket. After you fix it yourself or go to other tech, you can not go back to Ford and ask for a refund, so at least check there first.
Q:The car left the house fine, with no indicator lights. After I got back in after leaving the bank, both the Brake and Battery light came on. I parked it back at the house and the fluid level is fine, the oil level is fine, and the belts are intact (as far as I can tell). I went back later to start the car and it sounded like it turned over, although it apparently did not as the RPMs were 0, it was super quiet, and when put into gear, it would not budge or rev. The brake jammed up too but I was able to get it back in park. then the check engine and oil pressure lights came on! The air was blowing hot and the radio was still playing. I turned it back off and it revved and the air was cool again, although the original two lights were still one (the others turned off). I didn‘t put it into gear so I can‘t speak on it this time around. The car has had a recent alternator and battery change (last year) and a wreck sometime long ago, before my dad got it.WHAT IS UP?
Multiable warning lights sounds like another alternator issue. Better have the charging system and battery tested. If you can hook up a battery charger and a auto parts store is near by drive it over or call dad to check to test and replace the alternator. Good Luck
Q:by the way im asking in this section because a lot of people who install systems, sometimes do bodykits, taillight smoggin etc.*
Never heard of smogging taillights, but have heard of them being smoked, or tinted and such.
Q:My battery light turned on few days ago. I changed the battery since it was old, but the light is still on.is it the alternator? or what?
Its a possibility for sure. Most auto parts stores will check the charging system the battery and the starter for free. Just as them to check with the machine inside the store. It sounds like you were aware of the older batterybutt if the light is still on it may have some other problem too. Possibly a bad voltage regulator which is in the alternator or it could be a slipping or worn belt too.
Q:Im looking into building an AR-15. I have done research on the barrel already as i have settled on a 1:8 twist as it can shoot just about anything except the really light stuff. I have an idea of what stock i want, and the stripped lower also. What i am looking into now is bolt carrier groups, trigger assemblies, and gas/piston systems. What i would like to know about each is what are some good assemblies, the pros and cons, and some good resources. I know nothing about these. Also keep in mind I am not planning on purchasing my first part of this gun this year, so I am in no rush to get this project completed. I want this rifle to last a lifetime so i want to get the best.
I would recommend that you get a M-16 Full auto bolt carrier group (No it won't make your gun full auto without the parts for the lower). They are a little thicker and more heavy duty than the standard AR-15 bolt. Direct impingement gas systems work for me, and they also work for the U.S. Military. A piston system is supposedly heavier and can cause bolt tilt, plus they are ridiculously expensive. With a piston system you can adjust the gas port and it might save a little wear and tear on your gun and it runs cleaner. DI you are just kind of stuck with one setting and you get more carbon fouling in your action. Pick out whatever stock you like. I don't know what triggers to recommend I just use a basic nothing fancy trigger. I really don't think it matters what brand lower you get just make sure it's forged aluminum.
Q:i have a 2004 saturn vue, i just had the oil changed a few weeks ago and the change engine oil light just came on, it comes on when i start the car and stays on for about a minute i checked the manual and it says each time the oil is changed the engine oil light system needs to be reset is this the reason the light comes on? what do u think? reccommend? mechanics please! thx
More than likely the change oil light wasnt reset. Look in the manual and see about resetting it. Or go to a oil/lube place and im sure they would be more than willing to help you for free.
Q:I‘ve not had a gaming system since I had to pawn off my Super Nintendo to pay the light bill back in college. Now that I want one again, I‘m clueless as to which to go with. I want to play games like Grand Theft Auto and TCoR: Escape from Butcher Bay (think that one is only available for XBox), mostly action, shootemup, fast cars kinda games. I have no real clue about what‘s the difference between XBox, PS2, Wii. I don‘t even know if there‘s anything else out there. So, all you gaming junkies, help me out here. If you were starting from nothing, and liked off the hook action games, what system would you go with, and why?
The games you are looking for sound like Xbox genre. The Xbox 360 is the next gen console from Microsoft. It will play all of your xbox games as well as the new games coming out. The graphics on the new games are excellent. PS3 graphics are slightly better as it is a new console. The Wii is a great console with many fun games on it. The thing that seems to put it ahead of the other two brands is the price ($250), and the remote, which makes the gamer more active. I have all three and so far have been impressed with the Wii most, Xbox 360, and then the PS3 least. Judging from what you said, I would go with the 360. The extra $200 dollars over a regular Xbox will be worth it over the next five years.
