- Q: i think when i was pulling fuses i set it off?
- The air bag light will only come on when it does a bulb check at key on or when their is a fault detected. Check to be sure the fuses are in fully, if they are off to the dealer you go to have it fixed.
- Q: I have a 97 Toyota 4-Runner that I‘ve had for 3 years it is in perfect condition. Just recently the check engine light came on I have never had that in 3 years. My dad said maybe it‘s the gas cap but I got gas last week i make sure the gas cap clicks so that cant be it. (Trying to ask my dad for help he‘s no help) My car was looked at not to long ago with no problems I don‘t want my car to stop on me in the middle of where I need to go. Does the oil have something to do with the engine? Should I wait a week to see if the check engine light is still on to get it inspected? I‘m trying to learn about cars and I need help.
- The gas cap is one of 500 things that can turn the light on. You have an OBDII vehicle. The best thing to do is invest in a decent Code Reader/Scanner. The decent ones start at $50 and most auto parts stores sell them or search online. The great thing is they'll work on any car sold in the U.S. from 1996 to present day so you'll always need it and use it kinda like a screwdriver. I don't know why everyone doesn't have one yet. The Check Engine light is for the engines computer system which includes emission controls and all it's sensors and solenoid's. When the light comes on, that means the computer has flagged a problem and has set a trouble code. So step one is to plug into the diagnostic connector, that is 24 from the steering column on all vehicles 1996 and newer, with a code reader and see what the trouble codes are. For example, code P0442 is the universal loose gas cap code. But it also be a small air leak anywhere on the fuel tank. P stands for Powertrain, then the following numbers are specific to the area the problem is. In Missouri, you can get codes checked for free at Autozone but MO is currently trying to follow Cali by making it illegal for Autozone to clear the codes. If you do go there, get the code numbers and run!! Like Davey said, THEY ARE NOT AUTO TECHNICIAN'S. Long story short, your next step is to get the code numbers from the vehicles computer. Write them down, then go from there. Come back and post the codes in a new question.
- Q: Hi.My sister has a Hyundai Accent 2001, and the check engine light turned on. we really dont know why.now, one of the head lights got burned out. and we were wondering if the check engine sign could be warning us about the head light. is this possible ??Thanks D
- No. Go to an Auto Zone and get the codes read for free so you know what the problem is. Make sure your gas cap is on tight.
- Q: How much would it be to just get a mechanic to look at it or is it just that my engine oil was cold that this happened the temp Gauge was way over in the cold side
- likely an O2 sensor, or could just be the need to running till it gets warm drive it on th highway for awhile and it might clear. that warning light IS NOT critical. you can get it scanned and find out exactly what tripped it later, but it's not something you need to worry about immediately.
- Q: when it is turned on, it doesnt make the clicking ignite sounds. None of the four burners work
- Mine has to be plugged in for the igniters to work, if yours is, check for a tripped breaker or maybe a blown fuse in the stove I can light the burners on mine with a match if there's no power.
- Q: Code PO 0455 showed up. I take to dealer and they made me wait 2 days before bring it in. Took it in and engine light was still on. They called me and told me engine light was not on when they got ready to check it and the computer did not even store record of this code. This is under warranty and I justquestion what is going on here. Is this possible that I drive for 3 days with engine light on, get code reading at auto store and now dealer says it never happened. ????

- Q: I‘ve had my 2001 Chevy Impala 3.4 for almost 6 years now. I understand its not the most reliable car considering I‘ve had to make multiple mechanical repairs on it. But I‘ve recently stumbled over the newest of issues. While driving down the road, my battery light will come on for a few seconds, and then go away. Sometimes the SECURITY light comes on and won‘t go away until i restart the car. And also, sometimes, my buckle up warning light barks at me, even though i always wear my belt. This all started fairly recently, and I‘m clueless. Any similar experiences out there or some good ideas maybe?
- Drive your car to the nearest auto parts store and ask them to perform a charging system test for you. Also, ask them to do a load test on your battery. This will usually identify the source of the problems you're experiencing.
- Q: by the way im asking in this section because a lot of people who install systems, sometimes do bodykits, taillight smoggin etc.*
- Never heard of smogging taillights, but have heard of them being smoked, or tinted and such.
- Q: I have no idea what that means...my check engine light has been on for forever and I never had it checked because my car wasnt acting wierd (yea i know i know big mistake) but anyways, I went to Auto Zone because my air conditioning quit getting cold. It blows air but its not cold- and sometimes its warm. When they did the check engine check, the computer said my system was too thin, and unfortunately noone there knew what that meant...you would think they would know?? hehe anyways. Now my car is stuttering, and it doesnt matter if my air is on or if i'm accelerating or braking or even in neutral. Please Please if anyone can help or give me an idea of whats going on please help!!!!o- and i know i need to take it to a shop, i'm going to soon. I just dont have a lot of money so its not something I can do right now. So dont tell me thats what i need to do please!!! :)
- Did they say what system in particular was “thin”? The air conditioning…? That is so vague that it could mean anything and guessing won’t really help you any. Hope they didn’t charge for the check. Maybe there isn’t enough Freon in the system and that’s why it’s “thin”…that’s an easy fix, just a quick recharge…but it wouldn’t really explain why your engine is beginning to act up.
- Q: Im looking into building an AR-15. I have done research on the barrel already as i have settled on a 1:8 twist as it can shoot just about anything except the really light stuff. I have an idea of what stock i want, and the stripped lower also. What i am looking into now is bolt carrier groups, trigger assemblies, and gas/piston systems. What i would like to know about each is what are some good assemblies, the pros and cons, and some good resources. I know nothing about these. Also keep in mind I am not planning on purchasing my first part of this gun this year, so I am in no rush to get this project completed. I want this rifle to last a lifetime so i want to get the best.
- I would recommend that you get a M-16 Full auto bolt carrier group (No it won't make your gun full auto without the parts for the lower). They are a little thicker and more heavy duty than the standard AR-15 bolt. Direct impingement gas systems work for me, and they also work for the U.S. Military. A piston system is supposedly heavier and can cause bolt tilt, plus they are ridiculously expensive. With a piston system you can adjust the gas port and it might save a little wear and tear on your gun and it runs cleaner. DI you are just kind of stuck with one setting and you get more carbon fouling in your action. Pick out whatever stock you like. I don't know what triggers to recommend I just use a basic nothing fancy trigger. I really don't think it matters what brand lower you get just make sure it's forged aluminum.
