Q:The goal here is just having cars see us, not headlights etc. battery operated Christmas lights might work, but i am afraid because of the cold weather, the AA batteries would run out quickly, and may not be bright enough so cars can really see us. I just would like to prevent an accident while on the town streets. Thanks in advance for your help. Any kind of lighting or battery system could work here.: It's definitely a Kawasaki (that's what's printed on the round black engine cover!), but hard to tell what size. They all had the same styling. Most likely a KZ900, KZ1000 or KZ1100. But possibly a KZ750. Kickstarters had been eliminated by around 1980. The seat and exhaust system are not stock, and the handlebars may well be lower than the original ones.

Q:I have a 1997 Plymouth Breeze with the 2.0 four cylinder engine. The light came on over the weekend and I took the car straight to Auto Zone for a scan of the OBD2 system. The only code that registered was P1494, I called the chysler dealership and they said it was a leak in the evap system. Most likely cause was a loose or missing gas cap. I checked for this, and even went to the expense of buying a new one. After the new cap was installed, I had the code erased. I reset my trip meter and drove about 90 miles and the light came back on. I‘ve had a mechanic check the lines and hoses running from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister and then to the engine. All were tight and in good shape. I was also told by the dealership that the leak detection pump might be bad. This is a small vacume pump that keeps a constant vacume to the evap system. My Haynes manual shows this pump, but my mechanic says there isn‘t one on my car. I‘m now being told the problem is my O2 sensors??????: It's very possible that the O2 sensors are the problem. It seems that most of the time when a check engine light comes on, it's to indicate an environmental/anti-pollution system such as this.

Q:This is a great little SUV. I‘ve been the only owner since I bought it Jan 2000. The only major problem I‘ve had in 7 years is the dealer changed out the cam shafts in 2005. Now the battery light is coming on. Does anyone know what a battery light on the dash indicator could mean? Q:I usually have this little orange light that I can see under park reverse etc however since the battery light has came on, at night time I can not see this at all now. My lights work and everything else works however I‘m worried because the battery light is staying on. Any help?: Take it to a parts store like Autozone. They can usually test the computer in the car to see what error is causing the light to stay of if the battery is okay. They can also test the battery to make sure it's not a legitimate problem. They should do all that for free as well. So I'd try that before taking it to a mechanic.

Q:So the past couple of days I have been driving my car with the check engine light on. I know, I should have gotten it checked out and it was stupid to keep driving like that. But it was working fine until this morning! I went out to start my car before school and it wouldn‘t start! I put the key in the ignition and the lights and radio and everything work just fine. I‘ll choose best answer.: The gun shots you here is the starter bendix engaging and disengaging because of a low or near dead battery. The yellow check engine light may be a coincidence without knowing the trouble code. Check the battery connections. If they are clean and tight, have the battery itself checked. You can remove the battery and bring it into any of the larger auto box stores to have it checked. If all is good, put the battery back in, get a boost and get the charging system checked.

Q:I drive a Auto 02 corolla with 120,000 miles. when the check engine light came on back in may, friend drove it to the shop for 2 days to fix. After i got it back i was told the exhaust pipe needs to be replaced(or something with the exhaust system i wasn‘t there) so the CEL dissapeared for a week then came back on, i been driving it with the CEL on since may, it makes very loud noise when i step on the gas pedal. should i keep driving it? it doesnt affect the engine right? Q:When I try to start my car the auto theft light comes on and it won‘t start. Why won‘t my car start?: It may help if we know what kind of car that you have. If it is a GM car and the theft light comes on, you have a problem with the anti-theft system. When there is a problem with the theft system it will not allow the car to start. Generally on GM cars, it is usually the ignition lock cylinder or key problem. Most cars now have a computer chip or for GM a resistor chip installed in the key for prevention of theft. A reputable mechanic should be able to help you if they have the proper tools. However, with a theft system problem you may be better off taking it to the dealer. Hope this helps.
