Q: The engine need service soon light was on in my vehicle last week. I suspected it was the bad fuel I put in since it turned on immediately after I pumped at Costco. I was busy and did not have a chance to go to my auto shop. Yesterday, I found the warning light was gone. It contradicts my general understanding that once the light is on, you need a device to turn it off. Will it be something like if you wait long enough, the bad thing will go away by itself?: I would disconnect your battery for 5 minutes. This will reset your car's computer unless you have a Ford. The next time your light comes on take it and get it checked. Advance Auto parts, Checker Auto parts, and Auto Zone usually check them for free, or you can take it to a shop and they can diagnos it for about $50. If you don't get it checked you'll never know what caused the light to go on so you won't know what to fix. It could be O2 Sensor or MAF sensor or a number of other things. I could even be a combination of those things, but only getting it checked will tell you and it'll also reset the computer again.

Q: I just got this check engine light. I‘m pretty sure my car is well kept.I need to change the spark plugs sometime, according to the maintenance schedule.The only thing I have done different is put in 0% ethanol fuel (no added ethanol) in the vehicle (which I thought was great at the time!). Now, the gas has done pretty well (xD!), but this engine light is on.I read the code and it is p0456, which is associated with emissions. So something between the gas tank and the engine is leaking.Could it be the fuel? Should I just wait and see next time I load up on ethanol % (boooo!) fuel? Should I just change the gas cap and see? Q: P0700 P0871 P1776 what are they and do they relate to the same problem? The car runs good except once in a while when i slow down and then speed up it down shifts and stays that way until I stop and turn off the motor and restart then it is fine again . Can you inform me more about this ? Thanks: I agree with the other peoples description of the codes and also that this is not a good thing but you may also try to have the transmission completely flushed out and use only mopar fluid. I have seen this done in the past and it sometimes works because the fluid is dirty due to lack of servicing the unit.

Q: auto zone says my code and check engine light is a small vacume leak some where help?: Auto Zone hires non-mechanics in their stores. If you want to find out IF you have a VACUUM leak, have the dealer of your car read the fault code and they'll tell you the *exact reason for the check engine light.

Q: I have a 2000 Ford Taurus SE Station Wagon. This is the families only car, and we have a infant in the house. We don‘t have money to go to a dealer or a shop to fix it. If you do go to the dealer they tell you like $600.00. The problem is that when my dad tries to start the car, the THEFT light keeps on flashing and won‘t let the car start. My dad has to turn the key back and forth and then after a couple of minutes(20-30 min) the theft light turns off and then the car starts. If you can tell us what the reason is and how maybe we can just disconnect the alarm because we don‘t need it. Please help us someone as we don‘t have any money. Thank you in advanced.: On a chevy you can pull the fuss, it is the number 40 fuss on a 2000 Malabu that is under the hood. Only trying to help. Or maybe unhook the battery it may reset it.

Q: Preowned vehicle, Starter works very well,(hold both buttons down for -under two sec.)I have accidentally ( eep!) turned on the security system 4 times. (when it is on, car will not start, even with key) , can deactivate security feature by pressing # 1 button.BUT have no idea how to turn it on on purpose!Have tried just about every combination of buttons I can think of!I think this was installed at the GM factory because we have an idiot light on dash that reads ‘security‘ when the system is on. But I think it has been reprogrammed to become a remote starter as well. And naturally no manual or such came with the car.We always lock doors manually, using the power locks, could that be related in anyway???Happy New Year by the way. :): I had this problem with the 300esp, after pushing 100's of combinations I went to a local guy who hooked up to the brain and he was able to reprogram the brain and add a new key fob for 49bux. ALOT easier than playin the guessing game. and not too expensive either. I know on the 300esp you can accidentally change the settings by turning on the key and operating the valet switch a certain number sequence. After I guessed and played around with a few sequences I thought it might be.I only made the problem worse then went to the local guy. good luck

Q: someone sent me a wii message and the blue light came on. so i go back to the wii menu and they blue light starts flickering really wierd and the screen turns black. it wouldnt turn of so i unplugged it. and when i turn it back on i have to do the wii settings like when i first got the system and all my wii contacts were gone and it gave me a new wii number. and it said you have a new heat-in system. WTF!?: this happened to me before. it is either from your tv screen, electricity, or that you have played the wii too much so it over heat and most of the time it is because of overheating
