Q: Its a yellow light located above the temperature gage that has some unusual shape that i cannot recognize. What does it mean?: It means the airbag is malfunctioning. Whether it be unplugged cable or the actual malfunctioning of the airbag, you should get it checked out ASAP. There's no way to turn the light off unless the problem is fixed. Why don't you take a look it yourself, if not, seems like the dealership is the best option, or local independent store to check it out. Remember, its a safety measure that will save your life in accident. Extra dollars wouldn't hurt.

Q: The engine light came on in my car and we took it to Pep Boys to get code pulled and they told us that it was coming back with two codes, P0101 and P0172. They told us the mass air flow sensor is bad and that it is running too rich, is this something that can be repaired at home my husband? Q: I have a 250 Rebel, and there was no ignition when we got it, so we put a car ignition on it. The key turns off the electrical system, but it won‘t kill the engine. That‘s not the problem, though. Ever since this ignition was put on, the battery drains while it‘s running. Dad seems to think it‘s a short. What‘s wrong with it?: Standard auto ignition switches have accessory, off, run and start positions. Since I doubt you have a radio or power windows on your Rebel, you don't need to use the accessory position. The ignition system, charging system and lights all need to be connected to the run position. Since you have a separate starter button, you don't need to use the start position either. I'm not familiar with the electrical system on the 250, but something's fishy here. Since the charging system doesn't charge, at first glance it would seem the alternator isn't being energized. If it's wired correctly, since the key energizes the ignition system, the charging system should also be energized. In addition, switching to the off position should shut everything down including the ignition and charging system Maybe someone else here knows, but if the 250 uses a magneto instead of battery and coil ignition, that would explain why the the engine doesn't shut down with the key in the off position. Switches for magneto ignitions differ from those commonly used for battery and coil systems. With the former, when the key is turned off, it grounds the ignition to the frame, causing the engine to die. On the latter, when the key is off, it's isolated from everything including the ground. If your bike does have a magneto system, you'll need a switch like those used on many less expensive riding lawnmowers.

Q: I have a 2003 Mazda 6. Two weeks ago my check engine light came on. I was told that the code was 126 - And that there was a problem with the coolant system and obtaining optimal performance. The thermastat was replaced and all was OK for a week. However today while driving, I noticed the light come back on. Q: I left my lights on one day when it was raining really bad outside, and the next day my battery was dead. Up until then, I haven‘t had a single electrical problem, battery died before but i replaced it and the car was fine. This time however I replaced the battery and a day later my car stalled on the side of the road. I got it checked out and i was told that my alternator wasn‘t keeping my battery charged. I replaced the alternator and now my battery still isn‘t staying charged.I‘m not sure what could be the problem. I‘m thinking there may be some bad wires or something just preventing the battery from being charged or the battery is just bad. Multiple times i got that battery tested and it came back unstable but then they would test it again, it would say its fine and try to recharge it rather then letting me exchange it for a new battery.I need opinions, what do you think could be wrong with my car and how much on average would a repair cost?: A metal plate with wonder board (concrete on top)

Q: The light illuminates when there is a malfunction of an exhaust gas related component, and the system is not functioning properly so that the exhaust gas regulation values are not satisfied What does this mean? Q: I purchased the car in March and it runs fine. In the past month I have noticed that occasionally the battery light comes on. It does not matter whether the lights or a/c are on or off. I tried reving the engine to see if that would turn it off and that does not seem to make a difference. After a minute or two it goes off and may not do it again for a week. The meter on the dash shows that the system is charging. I do not know the age of the battery as it is not marked, but the terminals are tight and do not have corrosion.: Hi Craig. let me start by telling you you have done well to describe the issue. as I suspect you know the charge light indicates that the alternator isnt charging the system. the battery light is telling you that you are bellow 12 volts in the system. at roughly 11 volts the system wont opporate as it is designed to cut out to save the electronics system. the point that the lamp goes on and off may be trying to tell you the alternator is not putting out the roughly 14 volts it must do. some may ask why does an alternator put out more than the 12 volts a battery system is stated at? the reason is compairable to drinking from a glass. if a glass is to remain at the top of the glass more must be added if the glass is being shared by your son or daughter (as is common) even more must be added to keep it full. so the more things using the system the more must be supplied. modern cars are loaded witth electrical parts just to drive using no creature comforts. so the odds are strong that A- there is an issue in the charging system B- that its intermitent C- that I need to help LOL, you need a volt meter and a test light. take a non running volt reading at the battery expect 12.5 aprx. now do the same test but apply the ground to several locations (frame, block etc) if the change is more than a volt even if closer to 1/2 volt it may and likely does tell you the battery isnt grounding to the block or frame that well. special note, examine the battery cables very closely for the cable bulging behind the clamps, common top post battery issue and is a system killer! the sound getting louder when A/C is on is common but may indicate the belt is not tight enough and that the automatic tensioner is possible weak. change the belt 1st and see that the sound is gone if not exect a pully issue likely the tensioner.
