These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. Q: After I changed the deck (using toyota wiring harness), and adding a sub and amp the lights for my dashboard instruments doesn‘t work. The signals work and when I flash the high beams the light comes on but I cant get the speedometer or gas to light up so I cant see anything in the dark. Why is this? Q: I purchased a car 4/4 that was inspected in 3/11. The same mechanic (affiliated w/the dealer) who passed the car through inspection is now saying that the transmisison needs to be replaced! The fact that it had just passed inspection a month earlier made me think I didn’t need a mechanic to look at it prior to purchase. Is this in any way illegal?: usually an inspection involves brakes, lights, tires, etc. a mechanic can't see inside a transmission and cannot predict when it might go out. get a copy of the inspection report and see if the transmission was checked. the only thing you can check on a transmission is the fluid level and color ( it should be pink) and if it shifts ok on a test drive. personally i would sue the dealership, what kind of a warranty did you get?

Q: I am currently designing a recovery system for a rocket that uses blades instead of a parachute. The idea is that the blades will auto-rotate, all that in order to slow down the rocket enough for a safe landing.I have been researching a bit on my own, and did a few experiments. However, I have quite a hard time to find the best blades for auto-rotational purposes. If you could give a specific example of blades with details like appropriate pitch angle,etc. which fulfills these properties, that would be awesome. The rotor will spin for sure, but so will the whole rocket unless you have very large directional fins to provide some drag for the rotor to oppose. Helicopters can do it as they have the tail rotor to provide resistance and stop the helo from spinning along with the main rotor. Another design would be contra rotating rotors but the design for the deploying mechanism would be something NASA would be proud of, not to mention the weight would mean more power needed from the rocket, (bigger engine, more weight,bigger rotors needed). It becomes a vicious circle that you will never win. Just stick with the parachute if you want your rocket to get off the ground

Q: I just got this check engine light. I‘m pretty sure my car is well kept.I need to change the spark plugs sometime, according to the maintenance schedule.The only thing I have done different is put in 0% ethanol fuel (no added ethanol) in the vehicle (which I thought was great at the time!). Now, the gas has done pretty well (xD!), but this engine light is on.I read the code and it is p0456, which is associated with emissions. So something between the gas tank and the engine is leaking.Could it be the fuel? Should I just wait and see next time I load up on ethanol % (boooo!) fuel? Should I just change the gas cap and see? Q: Hi, I have heard of the transmission problems that happen in the accords. In mine when I very start to move the car jerks and it seems like the tires are spinning but I‘m not sure if that is what‘s happening. The check engine light is on and the guy at advance auto parts says the EGR valve needs to be cleaned. Also the TCS (traction control system) light comes on occasionally. Keep in mind that my car does need new tires. Does this sound like a bad transmission problem or something minor?: the V-6 transmissions in 1999-2000 had almost a 100% failure rate. By 2001 they started to get better but there were still some issues through 2003. Only affected the V-6 as the 4 cylinder used a different transmission. as for your problem, the V-6 of that year also had EGR problems that clogged the tubes that the exhaust gas recirculation traveled through. there is a modified 'kit' to replace the EGR and the tube. that sounds like the cause of your hesitation from starts and on the TCS light. what happens with the TCS light is kind of funny from a logical point of view. The way TCS works is that when the car starts to lose traction the TCS system reduces engine power by disabling engine cylinders until the car regains traction. Well, when the engine is running on reduced power, such as when an EGR hangs or when the car has a misfire, the TCS control unit 'thinks' the TCS is engaged and puts the TCS light ON. you don't have a problem with TCS. You probably don't have a transmission problem. you do have an EGR problem if the information you provide is correct. make sure your technician replaces the EGR with the kit. the kit is only available at Honda dealers so your parts store won't have all the new pieces necessary to fix your car permanently. hope that helps
