Q: ABS light is on, what does that mean, how do i get it off, and how much $$ will it cost me to get it off (ballpark figure)?Thanks, John: any time the abs light pops on, this means for some reason your abs is no longer working. (this light is a safety feature, usually it is a bad sensor in one wheel, since you cannot have three wheels abs, and one not, the whole system goes off.) what this means, is you have regular brakes, just like all other cars ok? your brakes should be fine, obviously if your brake pedal goes soft or something go to the shop asap Some auto shops have the right equipment to test your system, basically you need a shop that can plug its computer, into your cars computer, and test the abs computer, which actually anylizes itself, tells the diagnostic computer where and what the problem is, then you fix it, and go on down the road. Its best to try to find out what the problem is, and make sure it is not due to a maintenance issue such as brake pads or something.I never had to fix anything on my abs so I have no clue what it costs to do a diagnostic, best of luck, maybe some one else has?.

Q: The car left the house fine, with no indicator lights. After I got back in after leaving the bank, both the Brake and Battery light came on. I parked it back at the house and the fluid level is fine, the oil level is fine, and the belts are intact (as far as I can tell). I went back later to start the car and it sounded like it turned over, although it apparently did not as the RPMs were 0, it was super quiet, and when put into gear, it would not budge or rev. The brake jammed up too but I was able to get it back in park. then the check engine and oil pressure lights came on! The air was blowing hot and the radio was still playing. I turned it back off and it revved and the air was cool again, although the original two lights were still one (the others turned off). I didn‘t put it into gear so I can‘t speak on it this time around. The car has had a recent alternator and battery change (last year) and a wreck sometime long ago, before my dad got it.WHAT IS UP?: Multiable warning lights sounds like another alternator issue. Better have the charging system and battery tested. If you can hook up a battery charger and a auto parts store is near by drive it over or call dad to check to test and replace the alternator. Q: on my 2003 dodge caravan. It just came on yesterday. Does anyone know what this means? My brakes are working fine and I had them fixed on last year sometime at Sears. Should I go back to Sears or should I go to where I purchased my van from? I‘ve had the van for almost 3yrs. and it has about 120,000 something miles on it. Anyone know what this could be?Update: I took my car in to Sears today and they did a brake evaluation. They said nothing was wrong with my brakes and they think it may be a electrical problem because my ABS light is on and I don‘t even have anti-lock brakes. They told me to take it to the dealership and have them take a look at it. What do you guys think? A thermometer? compare it to what you set the climate control on it should be the same temp or near. To see if there is a charge put the climate control on the lowest setting and see if the air coming out of the vents is cold if not then there is no charge if you hit the gas a little and the air becomes colder then there is a low charge.

Q: Can i just do the big 3 upgrade to my factory alternator and battery. Would it hurt my alternator or battery? I don‘t want to get another battery or a capacitor. Q: hi, i drive a 1999 ford ranger and for some reason my brakes have been really crappy lately. Starting at about the same time the snow came in late december my brakes started to feel gritty and made a noise with it. I thought because no lights were on in my truck it was just the snow but today when i was backing up my breaks felt like they went away all together. when it stopped i turned the truck of then on again and the breaks were back but the abs and break lights came on. i don‘t want to put myself in a bad situation so what could it be? thank you in advance.: Wheels are not universal. Some way I could run something from the battery through the firewall or something?Thanks in advance!: no good way to mount it on a sedan that wouldn't cause water to accumulate around the wiper arm and thus leading to rust and or leaking. also the aerodynamics of a sedan force air down the rear windshield and this would rip off a wiper at higher speeds not to mention a rear wiper on a sedan would sling water onto passing cars due to aerodynamics. also due to air flow rear wipers aren't needed on rear windshields as much
