Q: My 2000 Toyota Celica GT has a check engine light on it. I took it to an auto parts store and had it scanned. It gave me the following codes:P0300 - Random Misfire DetectedP0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire DetectedP0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)I put fuel injector cleaner in it today, as well as cleaned the MAF sensor. Sometimes when I‘m accelerating , the check engine light flashes then go back to staying on. I‘ve checked all over for vacuum leaks and cannot find a thing. I‘ve noticed a little oil on top of the engine, but I‘m not sure if this is the problem. It idles at around 1500RPM when I start it then it drops down to 500-700RPM. If I turn my lights on the fuel gauge and clock dim. The A/C and defrost make a god awful noise when I turn it on (I‘m guessing the clutch on the compressor is bad).
The lower the temperature, the lower the pressure. I think that's why your tires are low. Temp -19 is extreme cold. Blow up a ballon then put it in the freezer. Look at it a hour later and you will see.
Q: We took my car to autozone after we went thru a large puddle on Sunday nite and the car is not showing any codes. so basically the light is just stuck on and I want to turn it off Does anyone know how to turn it off for this model? It‘s a champagne 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
the check engine light does not stay on for no reason First are u sure its the check engine light? If it is then there is a code in the system. You may have to take it to a more qualified person i have not had good luck with auto zone. To clear the light you will need a scan tool. A auto shop has a scan tool. Some people say disconnecting the battery will clear the light, but it wont the computer still stores the code.
Q: I own a 1988 Mazda B2200 pickup. If it sits for two days or more the battery becomes dead with no juice to start it. I have installed a new battery and checked the alternator and it charges at 13.90 volts. I take the battery connections off and on and there is no spark showing a short. How do I find the short in the electrical system. would appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks in advance Doug
Some good tips above, but first before anything else, wait for a moonless night. Go outside and let your eyes adjust to the darkness (about 5 minutes or so) then look all over the car for a light shining. It could be a panel light, glovebox, under dash light or such as that. I have found stoplight switches shorted that would activate the brake lights normally, but would also dimly glow all the time. You could see it on a dark night!
Q: Does anyone have a problem with Sony HVR-Z7 when shooting in a room that have strip lights?
The cycle rate of the lamps is conflicting with the scan rate of the camera. A common problem. First thing to do is to take control of the white balance, if you are using auto WB this will accentuate the problem, so either set a manual WB under the strip lighting, or use a preset and fix in post, auto uses a tracer system which is confused by strip lighting. If your camera has the option you may want to try recording in clearscan mode (my Sony DSR-570 has it, as do the Canon XM2 and XL2, don't know about the Z7) and get the scan of the chip in synch with the scan of the lights. The only other options involve using a slower shutter which can affect other motion, or shooting in porgressive mode, which again will affect motion. A third way is to deinterlace in the edit, though this is at the expense of horizontal resolution.
Q: The engine on my ‘05 VW Passat recently flooded while driving in low area during heavy rain. Had everything fixed and car is running perfectly. Yesterday the check engine light came on but the car seems to be running perfectly. What should I check?
Go to an auto parts store and have it scanned for free. They will tell you what code(s) are present and what they mean. Likely a sensor has gotten wet, tripping the check engine light. It may be able to be dried out with some WD-40, or it may have to be replaced.
Q: just replaced yesterday but the battery light stays on evereything works fine
The light would be indicating that it is not charging, it is usually one of two things, loose alternator belt, or bad alternator. First find your alternator, and check how tight the belt is. Try to turn the pulley with your hand, try to make it slip against the belt. If you can make the pulley slip, it is too loose, and you need to tighten it. The at home test to see if your alternator is charging, is to remove the ground terminal of your battery while it is running. If the idle is good, and the engine dies, that means the alternator isn't charging. If the engine continues to run with the battery cable off, it proves that the alternator is charging. Try these things at home, then drive it to an auto parts store that does free charging system tests, but make sure the alternator belt is tight first.
Q: It‘s been doing this for a few months and the 2nd time I took it to AutoZone to get it checked out and they said nothing is wrong. After that it stopped an then a few weeks later it started again. Iv noticed it only happens when I am on the interstate and it only flashes a few times then cuts off.
Auto Zone is by far the worst store to take your car to have a fault memory read on your computer. Auto Zone's electronic equipment isn't detailed enough to read exactly what is causing the check engine light fault. Flashing, on and off check engine lights are the ones which should be checked by the dealer of the car. These are ones which will cause damage to the emissions system and engine. Would like to actually help you but you forgot to list the exact brand, model and year of the car. We also need the fault code off the memory in your computer on the car.
Q: I have an 2001 Dodge Dakota and just last month I replace the yellow headlight lamps with new ones and I want to get a set of HIDs in my truck. I don‘t want no cheap *** knockoffs like nokya 7000k! I mean how hard is it to install HIDs. Plus does anyone know where I can get a good set of HIDs Ps: I live in Pennsylvania
unquestionably, there is likewise some halogen bulbs on the industry that have slightly xenon further to the gas combination, so producers are waiting to destroy out with legally calling them xenon lights fixtures.
Q: my gf got into an accident last night. she said everything went well then when she went to turn she couldnt completly and ran into an embankment. also last week it was raining hard and she said the same thing happen except that she almost hit the sidewall. she said all this time for a while her low trac light has been on but never said anything. she said it felt like a glitchwhen steering the first time. what problems would set off that light that would cause a prob? she has a 95 camero auto v6
Not sure that a low trac light would do it - as most of the GM traction controls of that era have to do with limiting engine power during low traction conditions. However, some of the newer controls would pulse various brake pads using the ABS system, which in a turning condition, depending on how hard the pulses were, could make the car turn sharper, or make it much more difficult to turn. I wouldn't put it out of the question, but seems a bit far fetched.
Q: just had the viper 791xv alarm installed on my 2003 honda accord coupe ex when i auto start it the lights flash on and off until i start the system is there a way to just keep the lights steady?
