Q: I had my egr valves replaced cause they were stuck open, my fuel system flushed, and engine decarb. then my check engine light went off. today it came back on could my fuel pump be bad? also when i am stopping my car seems to jerk. what could be causing these problems.: We really need to know the year, make and model. Mileage helps too.

Q: PLEASE HELP! ok i have a 97 isuzu rodeo, auto,4x4, 3.2. Yesterday i went outside to start it and when i turned the key to ON, it said on the dash that i was in 3RD, but when i turn the headlights on it says its in reverse. If i push on the trans and move the whole Engine, trans and transfer-case assembly up, the car says its in park and acts normal, until i go to start and then it wont start. and goes back into 3rd, I have had the rrabs and brake light on, and now they shut off, the check engine light has also turned off (the code was for o2 sensors). And now when i do start the car and drive it, the trans shifts fairly hard. I AM LOST ON THIS! can someone please point me in a direction!: Check your wiring is my first thought.... maybe someone tried to hack in a stereo system and the electrical tape finally came loose. You have a short somewhere, try looking behind the stereo head unit, most of the dash and trans hump circuits go through that area.

Q: this was a week ago, the check engine was on for 3 dayslight now it has not appeared again: It's probably nothing. Check engines lights come on for ridiculous reasons. I'm guessing what it would mean was your fuel to air ratio was lean and that's what made the light come on. It could do that because you need your injectors cleaned and or maybe there was a piece of carbon in there for awhile which made it lean out a little bit in turn turning your check engine light on. If your injectors were super dirty your car wouldn't run. I don't worry about check engine lights myself just because they'll come on for a stinking exhaust leak or whatever. They're quote annoying. I was kind of taught the old school way and just listen to your engine. If there's something wrong with it you'll hear it. I'd suggest though go to wal mart, autozone, whatever you have and get some injector cleaner. They have a bunch of different kinds you just add it to your tank of gas when you are about to fill up. That'd clean them out. If you have problems finding it just ask the guys at autozone or advance, napa I don't know what kind of auto parts store you have. But normally they're willing to help you out. And theyll steer you the right way. Hope that helps a little.

Q: the lights come on that says it in 4wheel but only the back 2 spinim thinkin its my transfercase but hopin its not.: Is that the lever-activated, or switch controlled transfer case? there are a couple of steps, here. this first step goes for either system, here. 1) Have someone YOU TRUST engage the 4x, get on the ground and watch for the front drive shaft to spin. If it is, then your hubs are not engaging. Common even with manual locking hubs. They go bad or get broken. Drive shaft not spinning, and you have the switch activated system; Your shift motor may be bad. the switch may be bad. Had a problem in a Bronco 2 with the shift motor not disengaging the 4x.

Q: i got a flat yesterday. my boyfriend came and fixed it with the spare that came with the car. its been running fine and no damage could have really resulted from the flat. does the check engine light come on when a spare is on the car??: A spare shouldn't make the check engine light come on, even if it's one of those doughnut spares. It must be a coincidence. Quite a few things can make that light come on. Even a loose gas cap.

Q: I have no idea what that means...my check engine light has been on for forever and I never had it checked because my car wasnt acting wierd (yea i know i know big mistake) but anyways, I went to Auto Zone because my air conditioning quit getting cold. The air conditioning…? That is so vague that it could mean anything and guessing won’t really help you any. Hope they didn’t charge for the check. Maybe there isn’t enough Freon in the system and that’s why it’s “thin”…that’s an easy fix, just a quick recharge…but it wouldn’t really explain why your engine is beginning to act up.

However, some of the newer controls would pulse various brake pads using the ABS system, which in a turning condition, depending on how hard the pulses were, could make the car turn sharper, or make it much more difficult to turn. I wouldn't put it out of the question, but seems a bit far fetched.
