Q: I use a Nikon D90 in a no/low light situation for concerts where flash i strictly forbidden. The issue is that the AF assist illuminator light is way to white and bright to be used in this circumstance. It just to closely resembles a flash and will get be booted and blacklisted from certain venues. So the question is this. Is there an accessory or workaround for improving the ability of the cameras auto focus without using the bright white light that is the assist lamp? It looks like the speed light accessory have a red autofocus lamp but that you would have to shoot with a flash to use it? What about a gel pack, or similar over the existing lamp?: It sounds like you need to turn off the AF-assist illuminator.Check you manual (page 174) and you'll find Custom Setting A3 should allow you to turn it off. Be aware this will actually rob the AF sensor of contrast which is something the system depends on for autofocus. With any DSLR, faster lenses (bigger aperture, smaller f-number) usually provide the best AF performance. You haven't mentioned which lenses you are using but I would hazard a guess that something with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or better would help. A variable focus lens with a max aperture of f4 may tend to be slow when trying to autofocus in low light.

Any one alone might not be enough, but taken together, it makes the price difference inconsequential. If I were Canon, I'd cut the Canon 350D, keep the 400D and cut the price, and add the 450D.

Q: brake the light stays on but stops blinking and sometimes I put my turn signal on and they both blink somebody told me that its not getting any power back there does any one have any suggestions on what it could be? Thanks for the help!: Let's assume that the AAA technician knew how to properly test the car battery - if he says it's in poor condition, you should replace it first, then. if your problem persists, you may need to replace the alternator, but that's more expensive, and a battery is simple to replace and easy enough for you to shop around for pricing on, even as a woman :) It's the type of job that should have a very set cost, they won't need to see your car to quote you on it, so call around a few local auto garages, I think you should get it done for about $100.

Q: Okay so my friends car (1995 Q45 infinity) is really messing up. First the radio lights would shut off then turn back on, both speakers would only work from time to time, driver side window wont roll down, now the passenger side window is going, the car alarm system now randomly goes off when you try to open the door, and now when you go to turn the car off, the inside door lights stay on. A car that was involved in flooding, and the water has corrupted the electrical relay panel. Typically auto panels are jam-packed with circuitry. It will take a lot of work to get it back into shape yourself, and that means a lot of $$$ to have a shop fix it.

I drive an '03 cavalier and since I've had it (over a year now) I've had no problems.: That Check Engine light is totally unrelated to when you last changed the oil in your Cavalier. Take the car to Autozone/Advance Auto Parts/Napa or another parts store and have them read your Check Engine Light codes for free to tell you what's really wrong. Your particular car doesn't have an oil-life monitoring system, so there's no way the Check Engine Light would ever know to illuminate either after the oil has degraded or after a set number of miles after the oil was changed.
