- Q:Lights come on but ot wont start?
- Here's the deal: The dash lights and radio uses very little battery amperage to work. The starter motor in the other-hand, requires more amperage from the battery than every other electrical system on the car COMBINED. Have your battery load tested at any store that sells them except for Auto Zone to see what the reserve amperage capacity is. A battery voltage test is s joke! It may appear to be fully charged 12.6 volts yet have no reserve amperage capacity. Amperage spins starter motors not volts. If the battery is over three years old it more than likely has a shorted cell and can't be charged.

- In My opinion sounds like a Heater Core is out ( Basically a small Radiator like piece that gets Plugged up) Usually found on the Passenger side with Two medium sized rubber hoses going into it. Quite easy to change. If that's not the problem could be as simple as the thermostat, i always check the small simple things first because this is the best way to trouble shoot. Nine times out of ten its always the the small simple cheap things.

- A capacitor is a bandaid for an inadequate charging system. First taek your car to autone, pep boys, advance auto. Something of the sort and have them test your alternator and battery. They will perform this service for free, hoping that if something is wrong, you will buy the product from them. If one of those is bad, replace it and see if the dimming continues. If it does, try a 2nd battery. in the trunk. Deep cycle sealed batteries are best and often cost less than a capacitor
