Q: I'm having this trouble with my 10 month old. She discovered a week ago that she can climb into the sofa. And I can not do anything else but to watch her. The second I turn around....she is up again. Should I remove the sofa from the family room? Where are we gon'na seat then? If that was the solution no house in the country would have a sofa by now..........what to do????
Teach her how to climb down. That way once she is up she can safely get down on her own. If you are really paranoid by a padded mat to put along the base of the couch. But falling off the couch isn't going to kill her.
Q: This question is probably going to get reported, but I thought it was funny.SO are you?
Why, NO, Sugar, I am the Sofa Queen Smart A** Gal.... but I might ask around if I can find the king....
Q: I am thinking about getting one of those surefit slipcovers for my couch. But I am wondering if it will fit, my couch has huge pillows for the back and sides. Will it stretch enough to go over the pillows or should I try to cover the couch without the pillows and try to find pillows to go over the cover? If anyone has ever used one I would love their opinion.
I have an attached, overstuffed pillowback sofa and I used a Surefit cover. It was fine. The only problem I had was the space between the pillowback and the sofa back. It seemed like too big a hollow for me, so I bought some batting and filled it out. But the slipcover is great...highly recommend it.
Q: My power keeps flickering out every once in a while so I lit a candle just in case, and I accidentally spilt wax onto the cushion. I can't get it out. I tried scraping it off, vaccuming it, and I tried the ice thing I read that got it out of other people's carpets and junk. The sofa is made of this soft velvety junk and the wax is like soaked into it or something. I can't even just turn the cushion over. Other people of Answers said use an iron, but there's no iron in our house. Does anyone have any other ideas? Please help! My mother will come home tomorrow afternoon and kill me! Thanks!
Reheating the wax is the only way to get it out...get a brown paper bag and a curling iron or something that gets hot. Lay the paper bag (only one layer) on the sofa and rub the hot surface over the bag. Be careful not to move the bag side to side it will just spread pull it up when your done. Try asking a neighbor to borrow their iron. Good Luck!
Q: Is it a high maintenanceWill it become blue or yellow i is it going to look dirty
Leather will oxidize over time just like a penny. It will also ingest dyes from fabrics like blue jeans. Once this happens nothing will fix it. They are great looking in your roped off living room with the plastic covers on the shades but not very practical for everyday use. The better leather sofas will have a maintenance and warranty but just for the frame. We're talking the several thousand dollar ones. Leather needs to be conditioned to hold it's moisture and cleaned. It is highly susceptible to damage from UV rays.
Q: Can you please help me pick out a sofa set?hi, i am about to purchase a sofa set but i haven't really found one that i can say wow i love it!i am looking for a 3 piece set dark brown and 100% leather not bonded with a ottoman i can purchase as well. so far i found a great set on jennifer covertables website that is just the rite price in the store its on sale for 1299$, but the set is very contemporary and i wanted to change it up and start buying more traditional classic looking pieces.sorry to ask y'all to shop for me i would really appreciate any sets you find, tips, or suggestions for shopping.thank you all so much!
go with jennifer she has helped me out so many times with my living room problems and i am richer and more fabulous. thank you jennifer and good luck to you.
Q: I've had my 13 week old labrador puppy for 5 weeks now, and he was almost fully toilet trained, but lately he'll jump up on the sofa and pee there. Why has he started doing this??
When is time to fix the dog do so. This will reduce accidents in the house. For now you can clean sofa with enzyme cleaner. The best one is natures miracle available at pet store. Do not use ammonia, leach or any household cleaners Don't allow dog on this sofa at all. He marks it as his territory and needs to learn it is not for him to pee on or sit on.
Q: INterior design based on matching a black leather sofa. thanks!?
this site has 533 pics based on black leather sofa search results. It's HGTV's rate my space lots of ideas on the site
Q: Hi everyone. I've been in Korea on E2 Visa since 4/2009 and just recently tried to obtain a job, but obviously denied due to the SOFA ordinary resident rule.Stupid rule if you ask me because I am still an American citizen and pay my State Federal taxes each and every year since I have been here. Here are my questions: I have read some answers about leaving Korea every 90 days and go to USA. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is a weekend trip sufficient to Guam?2. Does it matter is I am in Korea on an E2 visa and not a tourist visa? Any additional information or advice is greatly appreciated.Thank you!!!!
I don't know that leaving the country and coming back would make a difference. Even fully qualified military dependents have a hard time getting civilian jobs on post here. A large number of the jobs go to Koreans. Even without that, the definition I've found for an 'ordinary resident' is as follows: Ordinary Resident of U.S. A person who normally lives in the U.S. To meet this definition, an individual must normally maintain a residence in the U.S., receive their mail there, and have their household goods at their U.S. residence, etc. (Note: “Ordinarily resident” is not identical to “legal residence” even though a person may be “ordinarily resident” at his place of “legal residence”. The term “ordinarily resident” refers to the place where a person is actually living in other than a transient or temporary capacity at the time of hire. Where one is “ordinarily resident” is a question of fact and law. Normally it is straightforward and can be determined by looking at where one is physically domiciled at the time of hiring.) Since you obviously live in Korea, it is unlikely that they would give you a job, if you left the country and came back. You would likely have to move back to the States entirely, then reapply and only return once you were given the job.
Q: right so lads, I'm from ireland, he's from england. he says sofa i say couch. WHICH IS IT?
It really doesn't matter what you use. In america, we use both. I'm sure different parts of the UK would say couch or sofa. Even in other languages, they have two words for a couch/sofa, like in italian il sofa' /il divano.
