- That is a classical Victorian Sofa (with a tufted back) tghey used to be made with horse hair; you will have to do some googling at some specialty sites as these aren't produced in abundance. YOu can find some antique ones as well.
- Q: some idiot mistook my last question as being inappropriate so I will REPHRASE: Please provide websites where I can purchase a -ready to assemble- sofa, couch, chair, etc. Upholstered or just the framing. - The one that you like that fit your room and look good in the room. In the US., Broyhill, Ashley, Lane are the most popular in an OK price and quality. However, some of my friends went to Bloomingdale's NY City and bring back $ 5,000-10,000 sofas home. It didn't impress me because I can careless for the brand name, or feel good on the price. I got my cheap all leather $ 350 a piece mark down sofa, I am still happy with it. I don't think it a brand name I need to look for. I would look for everything else that will fit me. - Q: It's a really nice sofa. It's an Ashley corduroy motivation sofa and it's has power recliners. The cat has attacked the cord and unplugged it once already, and he has tried to claw the sides and back of the sofa, but I shoo him away whenever I catch him. I have never had a husband, cat, or new sofa before in my life.
- I am going to suggest a blend of carpet/sisal for scratching, as some cats either love it, or ignore it. I am providing a link, but it is available many places. Bitter Apple (sold in pet stores) for coating wires usually works. And double sided sticky tape for scratching is a good for discouraging your kitten. And dusting areas with talcum will cover up their scent they left from their paws, and also offends their nose. As far as the mattress box springs, for him it is a game. He is on his back when he does it, and is having fun. At least it hardly ever shows. It won't hurt the mattress box spring, but sure is annoying if he does it at 5 AM. Hiss at him when he does that.
- Q: I've never heard of it before- but I would be more interested in dying the upholstery to the sofa if possible. I have a Hoover steam cleaner with and upholstery attachment that normally does a GREAT job, but this sofa is nearly white. With a mechanic for a husband and 4 cats, it just isn't working but the couch itself is in good shape and I can't afford to pay someone to reupholster it or buy a new one. - Add a capful of bleach to your steam cleaner and a little extra soap and very hot water. Scrub well with the attachment, and go slowly over each area. I'm sure this will work great. I would buy a matching throw blanket to lay over seat area, and lots of matching varieties of throw pillows, so next time it will be easier. :) Best of luck!
