- Q: I sanded down the wood on the sofa and started painting and now parts of the wood along the sides have turned PINK!!! That won't do at all! I've painted over it over and over putting layers on and it just keeps turning pink! I have no idea what to do! I need it to be white, not pink!! Please help!
- Also note that you might see yellowing of the color after about a year or so. Occasionally i've had this happen to me when the piece is in direct sunlight or rarely used. This may not happen to you, but its just good to keep in mind.

- You can pay outright for a sofa but I don't think you can give them cash. They never gave me the option to anyway. A cheque or debit transaction is fine. So you can pay in a lump sum or over a period of X amount of years. I just brought a Dfs sofa and they are a bunch of con artists. I waited four months for delivery and then my sofa wouldn't fit through the front door (it's a regular-sized door - I don't know what castles they've been delivering to) so I refused the delivery (didn't fancy building an extension around the sofa). Went back at the weekend and they refused to give me my money back! They said they manufactured the sofa in good faith and I have to choose another one. So I ended up paying another ?300 for a more expensive sofa - a sofa which is delivered with its back unattached and they fix the two parts together in the house (so this more expensive sofa *will* fit through the door; funny that). Now I'm having words with a lawyer to see if I can get the difference knocked off my new sofa. So anyway, my point is... if there is any - any - option you can take which allows you to NOT pay until the sofa is safely in your home then take it. I'm not taking about credit either - the contracts are also legally binding. See if you can work out a debit arrangement, where the money is taken out of your bank ONLY after the sofa has been delivered. If they don't do that, find a place that does.

- First okorder / then I think you mean suede sofa if so after the product is dry take a very soft brush (you could use a very soft tooth brush) but a suede brush like the ones used for shoes and boots is best, and brush the fabric softly till the nap stands up to match the rest of the couch. good luck! =)

- The best way to clean leather depends on the type of leather you have...unfinished leather (leather that looks kind of like suede or has no finish on the leather) can not be cleaned with anything other than a dry cloth and vacuum. Leathers that are treated leathers can be cleaned with Guardsman Leather Cleaner..the best I've seen that is available to consumers. If the leather is a lesser quality leather (anything other than top-full grain leather) you should check with the MGF website for cleaning instructions. The way the leather has been dyed also plays a role in how to clean it. There are so many different leathers out there.. you need to be careful not to ruin your investment. Leather is a hide or the skin of an animal, and as such, will absorb body oils (like greasy hands)..and ground-in dirt can cause the leather to peel... My advice is always to check with the manufacturer of the piece before using ANYTHING on it...and DO NOT take a friend's suggestion...there is really a LOT to know about leather and it's care than most people realize...

- If the sofa is saturated, looks like you'll have to buy a new sofa. My neighbor had to deal with the same thing. Her dog peed all over her sofa and all over the floor. Maybe try a fabric freshener and disinfectant things. Try seeing if a pet shop sells anything for that.

- The only thing that would remove old tea stains from fabric would be bleach. A thorough scrubbing with a detergent and bleach would be the solution, if the fabric is able to be bleached without ruining it. I fail to see the reason your boyfriend can't be around the sofa, unless he is allergic to stains??

- yes, recovered our own sofa several years back. those that pay otheres to do it are usually lazy and have no odea what to do w/ tools. the materail is readily available at placeslike JoAnns and such. they sell it by the yard. make sure when you remove the fabric to keep it as close to its original size as possible so you can replicate it. you'll need: a staple remover (a cats paw, or screwdriver) a knife /razor (to remove ol peices of fabric) and a stapler...ot tacks and a tack hammer FIRST! assure the structure of the sofa. broken boards and springs will make for more of a project than is worth (unles this is an heirloom) Second: choose your material carefully. remember it is going to be sat on. and check the foam inserts while youre in there. learn to do hospital corners, and youre good....shold cost about $200 or so if youve already got the tools. and a weekend. WAY cheaper than a new sofa! at least a good one....$200 retail sofas are usually junk andlast about two years....weve had our sofa for 17, w/ a plopper for a teenage son....weve spent about $1200 over 17 years thats less than a bill a year. and were not puttin a bunch o junk in a land fill...

- I have had both in the past, and once again. The sofa bed mattress is an air mattress, which should sleep more comfortably. My son uses the futon, and sees to have no issues with it. My mother has used the sofa bed, and the first one, she honestly didn't care for. I have learned to sleep on both, and actually prefer the futon. Our futon is double mattress . One mattress is the typical futon mattress, and the other has springs - also a futon mattress. We use that one on the bottom.. It may depend on your family members ages. Have you given thought to a day bed. That uses a regular mattress, and it can be a trundle, which means double space. One mattress hides beneath the other. There are many different styles of frames for these. Check them out!
