Q: I got a velour sofa from my neighbor and it is a cool shape but I hate the color. Aside form covering it with a blanket or reupholstering, is there a way to change the color? It is light biege. Is it possible to dye an entire sofa? I doubt it but thought I'd check.: You Cannot dye a sofa. That'd be pretty awesome if you could though. The best option is getting a covering for it that you can buy to fit your sofa. Custom made- which can be costly, but looks fab!

Q: what color should I get for the cushions? Off white and Browny/gold stripes or off white and blackish blue stripes for a country cottage look? I have another sittng area and the sofa is burnt red and light brown checks...the 2 sofas would need to blend together...: Off white and the brown/gold stripes. That will coordinate well with the other room (golds and red are natural complements) and that will really liven up the white sofa, creating a warmer cozy feeling. You also have a wider range of accent colors on this scheme. The blackish blue would clash with the other room and make the creamy sofa more formal and cool.

Q: Moving on sat, my room is going to be considerably smaller so i was thinking of just getting a futon instead of a smaller bed so i can have more room when im not sleeping. Looking for one that is comfy and looks good. (Comfort is the main concern but if it looks good too, thats a bonus.) Not looking to spend an arm and a leg, but i gotta do what i gotta do. Thanks: Futons are great space savers but not really practical for every day use and the cushions never stay in place properly when you use it as a sofa. Plus they can be a bit low. If you can cut back on other stuff you want to buy then invest what you save in buying as good a sofa bed as you can. Much nicer to sit on and some can be folded away with the bedding in place so you don't need to find room to store the pillows and duvet.

Huge thanks.: We have a sofa bed, and it seems no matter how you lay you can feel that metal rod in your back, straight thru the mattress! I got a memory foam topper on sale at Elder Beerman's a while back, it was kinda pricey (about $90) but it was soooo worth it. Your back will thank you, especially if you or someone else is sleeping on the sofa bed more than one night. I got a relatively thick one with little triangle-looking things jutting up. Its quite thick so it doesn't fold in with the sofa, so storage is kind of a b*tch, but still worth it. Good luck!

Q: How do you clean your CLOTH sofa & loveseat?: I bought the Bissell Little Green Clean machine. It works on upholstery GREAT. You would not believe the color of the water that comes from the cleaning, even if it doesn't appear to be very dirty.
