- Q: why is there a puddle of transmission fluid under my car the day after i get my rack inpinion fixed??? i had no problem with it the year befor??? can any one help???
- Transmission Fluid and Power Steering Fluid are one in the same. they most likey left a fitting loose or cross threaded it.
- Q: Does anyone know any major transmission place that does payment plans for a new or rebuilt transmission?Such as Precision Tune
- Inquire with different transmission shops to see if they offer financing plans to help you pay for the service. Also use that opportunity to find shops that have the best rates and the best experience. In addition, consider your car and determine whether or not it's really worth getting it fixed. If the cost of repair exceeds the value of the vehicle, you might want to see if you can buy a replacement car with financing plans that will help you to afford it.
- Q: HiMy transmission worked perfectly before I decide to flash its transmission fluid and change the filter myself. Now at the morning when car is cold it does not change the gears fast like usual, between 1 to 2 it goes to nutrual for couple of second then it goes to 2. Anybody knows what could be the problem. The car has 130,000 miles on it and I used Castrol transmission fluid. Thank you

- Q: My 2001 F250 Transmission started overflowing when I tow my 30‘ Travel Trailer. I have been towing it for years and no problem until now. I have always towed it in overdrive. Had the transmission serviced and it has no issues. Please Advise.
- Check the fluid level. Have you or someone else ever carelessly changed the fluid? is it overfilled, and when the tranny gets warm enough, or hot enough when you tow the fluid expands and overflows? thats where i would start. If not, then get the fluid power flushed and filled from a place like AAMCO. I have a 2001 F250 with the V10 and automatic, so i am familiar with the vehicle.
- Q: My block is cracked in the 97 and I can buy a 92 for $300 that only needs a transmission so I was wondering if I could combine the 2?
- the trans will fit no problem, just not sure about the electronics. or the shifter linkage. i'm sure you could get it to work.
- Q: Someone claims they have a manual transmission. Their car just broke down. They said they needed a new timing belt and a new converter. Is this.possible being a manual? Sorry, I dont know jack about cars. Thanks
- at least 500.00 at a good shop a ticket for driving with known defective equipment may cost you more
- Q: I want to know what base band and broadband transmissions are and how they relate. I also need an example in everyday life.
- Quoted from the 2nd link: What is difference between baseband and broadband transmission? In a baseband transmission, the entire bandwidth of the cable is consumed by a single signal. In broadband transmission, signals are sent on multiple frequencies, allowing multiple signals to be sent simultaneously There are more details but this one seems to be the simplest if it is what your actually looking for. Another thing to know is that a LAN is baseband. It has one signal at a time. A long distance connection between two central offices of the telephone company is broadband in the sense there are upwards to 12 or more conversations running on a single channel using multiplexing. Cable networks have multiple channels (multiplexing) so you can get your TV channels as well as the Internet on the same physical media. That is why the term Broadband is used with cable networks.
- Q: i have an 05 tc manual. ive been having issues with grinding ever since i bought it, one person recommended putting some royal purple in it. so ive decided i want to change the gear oil even if that doesnt solve the prob, it will give me something to do, but ive never done this on a manual before.
- If you do find how to change the fluid, check for little pieces of metal or rubber in the old oil/fluid. That means a gear is about to give out. It could also be a simple clutch adjustment to push the throw out bearing out a little more. The adjustment is on the rod that pushes a fork forward.
- Q: Is fixing or replacing a transmission possible by hand/or at home? Would fixing it by hand cost more than getting a auto shop or having a mechanic to do it?
- It is possible at home if you know what you're doing But I would definitely recommend you take to a shop
- Q: I have a 2001 jetta gls 2.0 and it just started shifting kind of hard about a month ago. It even shutters going up hills sometimes. I called various Volkswagen dealerships and they tell me that it is a maintainence free item and if it is shifting hard then perhaps your transmission is about to be toast and would cost about $5000 to replace. I would like to know if this is true. Is the transmission on a jetta a maintainnence free item or do I need to take it in and get it serviced from time to time.Is it possible that my transmission is about to fail completely and there is nothing I can do about it.Has anyone else experienced bad luck with Volkswagen Transmissions
- The people that have answered above me are on CRACK. I work at a Volkswagen Dealer, specializing in transmissions. VW transmissions are the weak link in the car. I remove 4 to 5 transmissions a week, sometimes a day. The JACK-A-MO above has a MANUAL TRANSMISSION. With a Clutch. You have an automatic. A new transmission IS about 5000 dollars installed. Its the reason most people sell their Volkswagens. Volkswagen DOES NOT suggest EVER replacing the fluid, or servicing the Transmission. If you have a leak, then your fluid gets low, and it starts shifting wierd. But NOT ruff consistently. The transmisson WILL fail completley. Shifting RUFF is the beginning of the transmission failing. Their are people with success rebuilding the transmission about 40% of the time, but it doesn't seem to last for very long. But it might last long enough for you to get RID of the car. A junkyard Transmisson is at the junkyard probably because it failed. I would not suggest wasting your time with a transmission that's USED. You have to Idle the car and warm the transmisson fluid to 35 degree's Celcius with a Factory Scanner to set the correct transmisson fluid level.
