Q:I have a C5 corvette standard 6 speed transmission. having problem shifting into first and going into second. A friend suggested changing the fluid first ( cheapest start to the problem) corvette was using DEXTER #3 in the C5 The new vettes 2005 and up now use the improved DEXTER 6 . can i use the DEXTER 6 in my model C5 its a 1998 and has never been changed but has only 45000 miles thanks in advance,
1 you can always use the BETTER upgraded fluid 6 is better than 5 better than 4 and so on 2 shifting problems begin with clutch and linkage if more than 30/40K unless you drive like my mom replace clutch 3 unless you trashed tranny
Q:Why have a lot of manufacturers stopped putting manual transmissions in their vehicles?
A lot of manufactures have stopped putting manual in the vehicles because its cheaper and they would be easier to maintain/repair as if it were a manual it would need the new clutch, clutch cylinder and much more
Q:Where is transmission fill for 1994 toyota corrala 5 speed
transmission and gear L are different automatic change 5 speed
Q:what is a good automatic transmission fluid for chrylser transmissions?
im 36 weeks pregnant and my doctor has me take my prenatal pills and an iron supplement on top of that because im anemic and my son isnt showing any signs of distress or anything doctor says hes very healthy.
Q:i want to know the type of electrical cable commonly used in transmission of electricity.
High tension wires are usually steel alloy or a copper alloy mix. Transmission cables can be hollow because high power travels along the skin of the conductor. It is called the 'skin effect'. Distribution cable can be aluminum, alloy, copper, or combinations of the above. Most all industrial, commercial, and residental wiring will be copper (with some aluminum, but I wouldn't use it).
Q:I have 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid automatic transmission, the transmission shift is little too hard when I am trying to reverse , drive or any direction. Also engine check light is on. Any idea what is wrong ? Whether this can be cover by Honda? Mileage on car 97500 - more than 7 yrs.
Sounds like you need a new transmission
Q:I am looking at buying a used car. It‘s kind of old (‘96) but good mileage considering (116k). It is an automatic transmission and she said the overdrive does not engage. What kind of fix would this take, will that be costly, and is this a sign of greater transmission issues to come? It‘s a ‘96 Mercury Sable. Thanks!
Auction house is your best bet. If your not going to mine. However mining is worth taking, and copper nodes are everywhere. Your going to need the stones and some gems you get from mining to do engineering yoiu might as well take that as a secondary skill or its going to be a money sink for you.
Q:Hi I have a 1991 Dodge Dakota and the transmission fuel is a little dirty, But most people say doing a transmission change ( taking off some plug) will most likely cause big problems. Why is that? Thanks
it will cause more trouble if you don,t change the fluid and filter ! the only transmissions that has a plug is a manual transmission ! automatic transmissions don,t have a drain plug ! on a manual transmission just take the bottom plug out and let it drain, put the plug back in, take the top plug out and fill it back up !
Q:I bought a used 2001 ford focus for my wife a week ago and I have noticed something odd about the automatic transmission. when the car reaches normal operating temperature, the transmission almost sounds like it neutrals for a second from 2nd to 3rd gear. all other gears sound and feel like they shift fine and this only happens when the car is heated up. When you first start it and drive it the 2nd to 3rd gear shift feels fine. could this be a fluid level issue? because the previous owner said the transmission was just rebuilt and all the fluids were replaced or does this sound like a blown tranny waiting to happen?
would suggest having the fluid flushed and filter changedand go from there
Q:Ok, I have a 1995 F150 4x4 with an E4OD automatic transmission and in am losing about a quart of transmission fluid a week. There is snow in our driveway right now and there are NO drops of transmission fluid in the snow where i park my truck. I checked the coolant in the radiator and there is no fluid in there.WHERE IN THE #!! IS IT ALL GOING???I am going to crawl under it tomorrow and see if i can see it leaking anywhere and if i can‘t find a leak i will be dumbfounded.Any ideas/suggestions on where the transmission fluid is all going would be appreciated.(P.S- The E4OD DOES NOT have a Vacuum Modulator)
Well if you're having to add transmission fluid once a week, then there has to be a leak somewhere. Your truck might have an external transmission oil cooler. It should be located in the front of the condenser and radiator, if not then the cooler is inside the radiator. What you have to do is get under the truck with a rag and wipe down the transmission, pan, lines. Everything where it can leaked out of. By cleaning everything, and removing any old fluid and dirt, if there were any leaks you would find them easier.drive it for a day or so and see if you can find any new leaks. If you still have trouble once you are done driving you, can put newspaper under the truck to see if any fluids leak out. Last thing you can do is wrap white paper towels or white paper around transmission lines, hoses, or tape it to the pan or transmission so if it does leak while driving you can see where it stains paper. Make sure don't put paper near the exhaust pipe.
