transmission codes? usually if transmission goes to fail safe meaning its in second gear and might be due to the trans computer being bad or the wiring from computer to the solenoid assembly or solenoid itself no good or even the speed sensors a trans shop can help with what the problem might be
Q:I have been working on my 60k service, almost all done, just one more thing left.changing out the transmission fluid. It‘s a manual transmission.2004 V6 Ford Mustang. When I looked under.it APPEARS, there is no cover on the drain plug. Is this even possible? How long can a car go without transmission fluid?I have driven the car for 60,000 miles without any mechanical problems. I‘m thinking I might have just found the wrong plugs.
If the drain plug is not installed there will be no fluid and the transmission will grind to a halt in a very few miles. The drain plug on most manual transmissions is either a square head or Allen screw type plug located on the bottom of the transmission. There will also be a fill and level check plug about halfway up on the side of the transmission which may be square head or Allen head or it may be a rubber plug.
Q:can an overdrive issue cause my transmission to shut down?
dude copper is gonna last a lot longer than pvc. pvc is the cheap stuff people use when they don't want to spend a lot of money. unless you have a leak and don't know how to fix it, then don't do it. and it's not hard to fix a leak in copper pipe either. if you use pex pipe, you're gonna spend as much on fittings as you would on all your pvc pipe.
Q:Why not use Continuos Variable Transmissions or electric drive transmissions how is the Automatic Transmission better?

Q:Im having some transmission failure on my 94 jeep, my 2nd and 3rd gears won‘t gear unless I release the gas pedal on each individual time of gear, gears do work but only by letting go of the gas pedal, I recently changed the transmission coolant radiator and might of forgotten to fill it up on transmission fluid, is my transmission gears ruined or does this have a fix? Maybe a flush of fluid or do I need to rebuild the transmission with a new gear kit? If anyone can help please, I would really appreciate it Thanks
Low fluid levels can cause it to shift late Check your transmission fluid levels first. If it’s low, check for puddles around where the Jeep is parked for extended periods of time to see if you have a leak. A faulty throttle cable setting can cause the transmission to shift late or not shift at all until you take your foot off the gas. Newer designs do not have throttle cables. They get an electrical signal for throttle position from a device called a vacuum modulator and an adjustment ot that vacuum modulator could do the trick. It can also be the shift solenoid that controls the servo fluid signal to give shift commands to the transmission. And it could be in the fluid circuit through the servo. You need a transmission line pressure test to confirm that before you decide to do work to the transmission.

Well if the shift lever is not going into Drive then its just the shifter mechanism, but if it shifts to Drive and when you give it gas your rpms go high and no movement, the common problems is the Valve Body Assembly, which is inside the transmission, and you don't need to replace the entire transmission only the Valve Body
