Q: I know that the auto transmission has a lot of problems, especially the V6 model, but I was wondering if the manual transmission also suffers from similar problems.: no.but then again neither does the auto.just ppl don't take care of them like they are supposed to the autos need to have the trans flushed every 45k miles since the hondas have internal filter that cannot be removed.and fluid should be checked and replaced at same time or replaced every 75k at minimum ppl don't do this which is why they have problems with the transmissions

Q: Why can they not directly connect the drive shaft to the engine? Electric motor powered cars do not have transmissions why?: The same reason bicycles need more than 1 gear. A bike with many gears is faster than a bike with only one gear. I don't about all electric cars, but many of them do have transmissions.

Q: I have a 2003 dodge stratus and today when driving it it randomly shifted into neutral, it‘s an automatic. It did it twice and I had to pull over to restart the car to get it to go back to drive. The lever itself does not move and it doesn‘t say that I‘m in neutral on the dash. Something else that happened is I was trying to back out of the parking spot I was in and it went back a little but then stopped, again I had to restart the car. I checked my transmission fluid and I have more than enough, is it possible that having too much transmission fluid could cause it?: Too much ATF will cause the fluid to foam which can cause problems. No idea how many miles on your vehicle? It's kind of hard to diagnose things with no idea what you've done for maintenance or the mileage. It didn't go into neutral.the clutch packs in the transmission are slipping. If this has been happening for a while you will be needing $1800 worth of repairs to rebuild the transmission soon.

Q: Okay so my transmission is bad on my 1990 300zx 2+2 automatic non turbo VG30dett. A guy is selling me a twin turbo 1993 transmission. He didn‘t tell me if it came off a 2+2 or a 2+0. Q: I drive a 03 camry le. About a month ago a mechanic pointed out after an oil change that my outer cv joint was in trouble because the boot had ripped. I was too broke to fix it so I had to let it go for a while. About a week ago I was on the highway and it refused to go above 70. It sounded like revving but it was more like I was pumping the breaks. I would step on the pedal but it wouldn‘t go faster and the rpm wouldn‘t respond. Got to the point where now I can‘t get it above about 10mph. It‘s also making some grinding/squeaking/thumping noises. Has this turned into a transmission issue?: It could be, but I am leaning towards transmission as the cause. CV joint wear is usually indicated by a clicking (click-click-click) or knocking sound when turning, or when you are backing and turning. When the CV joint actually breaks, there is usually a complete disconnection and the car will usually (but not always) not move. If you find that the problem is the transmission and not a CV joint, DON'T go to an automobile repair shop for the repair. They will rape your wallet to fix a transmission. Go to an automatic transmission shop. A specialist in automatic transmissions. It will still be expensive to fix ANY transmission, but a lot less than a general automotive repair shop would charge.
