- Call or visit carpet stores and ask for Rug Hold. Sometimes called Rug Grabber. It's an underlayment to prevent rugs from slipping on top of wall to wall carpet. The backing on rugs will not grab on the pile of carpet. Lowes or HomeDepot may carry it.

- Carpet tile is sold in squares, either 12 or 18, and carpet well it is rolled, usually 12' long, smaller rooms can be done cheapest by getting remnants. Carpet is large variety's is easier to locate, while carpet tiles are usually plain,and of fewer variety's. The backing on carpet is of better quality and definatly stronger. The backing on carpet tile is thin and of course sticky due to the adhesive. Should your carpet get wet, the carpeet tiles do not do wet well. They after a while will pull up and have to be repaced, and it can be a larger job than thought as the surrounding tiles will look dirty. Laminate, well that is a different totally different look and feel.

- They give you an estimate if you go in and tell them the size of the room. Removing is usually included in carpet stores but Home Depot might charge for that but you can ask.
