Q: I just spilled nail polish remover (yes, REMOVER) on my carpet...will anything happen to the carpet? How long does it take for the smell to go? I have my fan on...does that do anything? Please help - my room stinks!!
I do hope you cleaned the Carpet real well as soon as you spilled it. I would be surprised if it did not remove some of the color of your carpet..I had a friend who did that also and it did remove the color and she had saved a piece of the Carpet that was left over after it was laid. So she cut a small piece out to fit the place she had destroyed with the Polish remover. I hope you have some spare carpet pieces around...
Q: Will skateboarding on carpet ( or maybe anyhting) with just the skateboard deck ,( no wheels, trucks), improve the actual tricks on the real thing? Thanks.
No, it will not help you at all. I can triple kickflip on a trampoline with just the deck but rarely get a double kickflip on pavement with trucks and wheels. They have a completely different feel. I wouldn't recommend getting used to skating on carpet, cause then you will have to relearn the tricks on pavement that you learned on carpet cause they have to be done a little bit differently on pavement.
Q: Whats the best cleaner/chemical to get blood stains out of a rug? I was working on something in the trunk of my BMW 325i and i cut my finger. But the pool of blood wont come out of the carpet no matter what i try. Someone told me to try using milk but that didnt work either. I have to bring my car to get inspected and i need to get the stain out beforehand...Any suggestions?
Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!
Q: Is there a not too expensive way to pretreat really bad carpet stains before I use a before I go over the entire carpet with a steamclean pro home machine thanks
Depends on the stain. Tell me more. Here are a few pointers: 1. Koolaid is taken out by using a steam iron, a PURE WHITE cloth, Ammonia (preferably lemon scented), and a steam Iron. Mix the Ammonia 1to1 with water and pour a small amount on the Kool-Aid stain. Place the white cloth on top of the stain and heat it with the Iron. Repeat as necessary. It is called Heat Transfer, the stain will soak up into the white cloth. If you use a colored cloth, the color from the cloth will soak into the carpet. 2. Urine when it dries turns to alkaline. The way to remove alkaline is with acid. Vinegar is an acid and works well. Also Protein stains like Blood and Urine set when you try to clean them with hot water, so use cold water when cleaning these types of stains. 3. For every 18 degrees of water temperature your soap will clean 100 percent better. Use VERY hot water to clean carpet, just so long as you are below 200 degrees. Thus the reason they call it steam cleaning. 4. Mechanical action (scrubbing) is the best way to clean most stains. Get vicious. 5. Always test any spot remover in a closet to make sure it is not taking out the color of your carpet. 6. Buy powdered water softener in your laundry soap section of the store and use it with your soap, it will make it work far better. 7. Keep it simple Stupid. Regular degreasers and cleaners work well in traffic lanes. Get a cheap pump up sprayer in your garden section of Walmart, add simple green and water, and spray the High traffic areas of your carpet and any spots. This is called a TLC or Traffic Lane Cleaner.
Q: im looking for like a plain white rug with a solid border around it that does not touch the edges but jsut borders it kinda outlines the shape its going to be put im my room so any ideas?
Try okorder . I am just a happy patron.
Q: I got a damp towel dotted it then turned my carpet light orange trryed oxiclean didnt workplz help me
Ask the Home Depot people, too, cause they know all the latest stuff, but that Resolve worked for me with other stains. If you ever drop something like that again (a dry powder), vacuum it up first. Then, use the carpet stain remover. good luck.
Q: How do you make old, trampled carpet quot;spongyquot;- feeling again?
roll a sweaty fat man over it and let it soak up his juices. i charege by the hour.
Q: I have to clean my carpet and an area rug. I had the rug for more than 2 years, and have been living in this carpeted apartment for 15 months. Both have never been shampooed or cleaned :#92;I live by myself, so I don't have high traffic, but I really need to clean them well.I'm o a really tight budget, and the rug doctor recommendation asks for many products at the time, id there a one good product that I can replace (Anti foam, detergent...)What would you recommend? Thanks
I use a machine I got from a garage sale. I learned a trick from some apt owners (250 apts at their site). First pretreat with Shout Use recomended soap or less. Never use more soap because if it is left in carpet it attracts dirt Rinse with a cup or so of shout in the rinse water because it cuts the foam of the soap so you can get it out. (Antifoam) Shout is my hero when it comes to carpet! Hope it helps
Q: Difference in rugs and carpets?
The difference between Colors and Colours Or Freeway Expressway Or Cellular phone vs Mobile phone ... basically the difference between American British English. Apart from this Rugs Carpets is the same thing.
Q: we bought several new throw-rugs to protect carpets at door-ways. They were folded in half on a pile in the store. It has been impossible to remove that crease, which as the traffic goes on it bunches up in the middle even worse. Any ideas on how to get out these creases where the fold was? Have washed, weighted down, turned over, hung up.....can't seem to prevail! Need advise on how to get rid of these creases. Will never buy a folded rug again.
This is really not an answer or solution ; my notion is that you will have to live with it. Applying steam on the back side to the backing and then weight it down would an other possible solution; I wouldn't put $ on it though. Could you use the rug somewhere that the crease would be under a table or chair?
