- Q: where is water pump tempertuer sensor in ford focus 2002
- Look in the maintenance manual in the glove box
- Q: What's the function of the engine pump?
- The function of the water pump is to pressurize the coolant, and ensure that it circulates in the cooling system. Generally speaking, the water circulates continuously through the radiator, engine block and parts. Take away heat.. Ensure that the engine is not high temperature
- Q: 7.63Determine the isentropic efficency of a water pump when water enters as a saturated liquid at 96.5 kPa and exits at 5 MPa and 106 degrees C.Thanks
- Well!!!!!!!! Isentroipc Efficiency of a pump = Isentropic Work / Actual Work At state 1, Enthalpy of Saturated Liquid h1 = 413.357 kJ/kg Entopy s1 = 1.29154 kJ/kg-K At state 2, Enthalpy of Liquid at state 2 = 448.042 kJ/kg Now, to find the ideal Enthaply , Enthalpy at 5 M Pa at entropy of 1.29154 kJ/kg-K h2s = 418.462 kJ/kg Thus, Isentropic Work Done I = h2s - h1 = 418.462 - 413.357 = 5.105 kJ/kg Actual Work Done A = h2- h1 = 448.042 - 413.357 = 34.685 kJ/kg Hence, Isentropic Efficiency = I/A = 5.105/34.685 = 14.72%
- Q: I replaced the water pump on my 1997 acura cl 3.0 v6 vtec. I set the timing how alldata said to. (Lined up marks on timing drive pulley and both cam pulleys) and put it all back together. Now when I start it the motor runs rough for about 45 seconds then it smooths out but won't rev past 3000 rpm. What are some possibilites it could be?
- reset the ecu, by disconnecting the battery cables off the battery for 30 mins and then reconnect them and see what happens
- Q: Is the pump head related to the water level of the entrance and outlet? If the water level of the inlet and outlet is on the same level, but higher than the height of the pump, does the pump lift need to be coupled with this height difference?
- What's the relationship?! When the inlet level is low, the head is slightly higher than the liquid level!
- Q: I have a new water pump with its new gasket to be installed tomorrow. Do I still need to apply a gasket sealer (blue RTV silicone) on the gasket itself? If I do, do I need to apply it on both sides of the gasket? Thank you.
- We need to know year make model and the type of gasket. Its getting pretty rare to need any sort of sealer on gaskets anymore. If they still require a gasket the sealer is often part of the gasket. These look like regular gaskets but have a blue or orange line manufactured right into them that acts like the RTV did in the old days. For some reasons parts store still have and try to sell you the regular gasket but often if you ask they will have a better one with the built in sealer. For something like a thermostat it takes you from a $2 to a $3 gasket. Many makes now use something that looks more like an o-ring in a groove rather than a gasket now.
- Q: I keep having to add water to. Doesn't do anything when it's sitting up. But after you drive it straight for about 25 minutes. Time to add some more water. I figure it's the water pump. It's not leaking anywhere so it has to be a failing water pump. Oil still looks good, no smoking. AC and heater blows fine. Just runs hot after a while. I need another opinion. Its the 4 cylinder also. And yes it does be steaming. Tired of having to add water everyday.
- The water pump seal will go bad if it isn't already because you are adding plain water to the cooling system! Antifreeze has a rust inhibitor and a lubricant in it and if you don't have the correct strength mix the inside of the block rusts and then the heater core and the radiator get plugged up resulting in hundreds of dollars in repairs. The water pump if leaking will drip on the passenger side from under the timing belt cover if you let the motor idle for 5 to 10 minutes. Look for the drips on the inside of the RF tire. If the water pump is leaking the timing belt will jump and bend all the valves.
- Q: I moved into a house on a rural property in January, and we live off tank water and have a Grunfos PT18 pumping all our water into the house. The problem is, not all the time, but alot of the time my pump stays on after having a shower, the motor keeps running and restarting continuously as if it is desperately trying to pump more water through, until I go underneath my house and literally turn it off at the powerpoint, wait for a bit then turn it back on. I am scared if I leave the motor keep going like that it will burn my pump out. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem, or why it may be doing this, or is something causing it?Thankyou in advance, from someone who has next to no knowledge about pumps!!

- Q: I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 and I was wondering if upgrading the water pump on my car would void the warranty I have with Mazda. I know such modifications such as air intakes and exhaust systems do not void warranty. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act says Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle. So is it safe to say it's alright to install? Thanks!
- sorry to say, if you uninstall anything aftermarket on your engine you will void your warranty. They would prefer that you use OEM replacement parts until your warranty expires.
- Q: HelloI am building a small budget underground room. On top of a very waterproof and airtight (besides vents) building, and running a dehumidifer inside, I would like to install a pump underneatth the foundation to suck out water from the soil surronding the building but I'm not sure what kind of pump would be best? Also how would b e the best way to set this up?
- What you want is called a sump pump. Most have a system built into them that is triggered by rising water. The idea is to have a hole beneath that allows the inevitable water that will collect a place to go, then when a certain amount gets in the hole, the sump pump comes on and pumps it out to wherever you have the hose or pipes ran to. Being underground, good luck keeping the humidity level down. It won't be easy, and much depends on where your natural water table is, and what it is during rains. Someone in your area might know all that, I don't.
