Q: i dont usually wear foundation, but i do sometimes wear powder to soak up oils on my skin. my skin does get very oily on my t-zone but otherwise my skin isnt too oily. which would stay longer for everyday coverage? i just use them to keep the shinyness away... so pressed or loose?! i just wear them over concealer mostly. thx!Z
For oily skin then powder
Q: I had to press 5 different types of leaves from my yard for part of my science project. I put newspaper, then the leaves, then a little more newspaper, then my english textbook, a dictionary, and a gallon of water. I let it sit for a week. My results:Australian bottle tree, Australian willow, kumquat bush, and lemon tree leaves worked perfectly.But... the ficus leaf (still got flattened and everything) is BROWN!What happened?I need to know ASAP so I know if I should try the ficus again or do a different type of leaf. I only have time for one more round of pressing before the project is due! Thanks :)
Ficus plants are always a problem when pressing. The main reason is that they have latex in their tissues and many of them have relatively thick leaves. Not only do they turn brown (or even black) but the leaves usually drop off the stems. There are a few ways to make good Ficus specimens but the ones I've heard of require alcohol (enough to dip the plants in) and you'd need to be able to apply dry heat to your press for a few days at least. So, if you don't HAVE to have a Ficus, use something else (weed from your lawn would be easiest).
Q: What are the benefits/results of both of these bench press'?As i'm not quite sure which one to do.
The incline bench press will focus more on the upper pec region whereas the flat bench will focus on greatly on the mid portion. You should include both in your workouts but not in the same workout. Steve Reeves alternated Flat/Incline every 3 months. Also, though you should include dips or decline bench press to define the lower pec line. A more effective bench press is done by bringing your legs off the floor with your knees against your stomach. Then bring the bar down to your neck or clavicle. This takes your legs out of the motion and puts the bar out of line with the deltiod thus hitting the pec more completely. You'll have to lower your weight a lot though.
Q: wood bench press
It is probably not too great of an idea to build a wood bench press. first, if you are lifting heavy weights then i'm not sure that wood is going to be strong enough to hold it without cracking, breaking, splintering, etc... your best bet would be to join a gym or buy a metal one.
Q: The military says they fight for freedom of the press but at the same time the military says it wants the free press out of Iraq. The military says the press hurts the war effort.
Everyone agrees that WWII was the last just war. What is not generally recognized is that what means were used for us to win that war are the same things that the liberal left is bitching about with regards to how we are forced to fight the Iraq war. FDR put a Gag order on the liberal press. No daily body count, no protest over putting US citizens of Japanese descent in internment camps, no protest over bombing Japanese and German cities killling millions of civilians, no protest over taking no prisoners in the war in the Pacific. That was a different generation. Today if there were a draft, other than mass protests, there would be a general exodus to Canada exceeding even that of the Vietnam era. As far as the media or the Press today, it is controlled by the Left and they print only the bad news about the war for the sole purpose of hurting President Bush. The good things that our military does in Iraq is ignored by the Press. The problem is that too many people believe what they read in the newspapers or what they see and hear on television. They think that if it is in print then it must be the truth. A few bad apples rape a young girl and murder her family and for some readers the entire 150,000 Americans stationed in Iraq are rapists/murderers. The terrorists are not stupid and soon they are using what is printed in American newspapers as propaganda to further their cause.
Q: I am looking for press to start reloading the Lee Classic Turret Press Reloading Kit from Cabela's look to have everything i need. I want a press that can handle the entire job and that will be able to do rifle and pistol. is this press good and what will i need in addition to load 9mm and 30-06
I have one and it works fine for me. I didn’t like the 3 stage press but the 4 stage works great. You can load large rifle casings in it, but for some longer casings you have to remove the auto index powder feed. So it’s a bit slower reloading some rifle rounds than with pistol rounds. That said I reload 7.62x39, 30-30, .308, .338 mag and 30-06 in mine with no problems. Where it shines is reloading pistol ammo, it can really crank them out; over 200 an hour. A tip about this press; it has a small plastic square bushing on the shaft that can be damaged if the press is misused. But if you follow directions all is good. If you shop around you can get deals where a powder scale, case mouth trimmer, de-burring tool and one set of dies are included. If not be sure to get a good scale to measure your powder charge now and then as a safety precaution. A few good books are the ABC’s of Reloading, Lyman’s reloading guide, Hornady’s reloading guide and the Reloaders Bible. You can order load data manuals for free from the powder companies online.
Q: Im Looking for a high end pressed powder ( so no drugstore pressed powders) and i have combination to oily skin... any suggestions??!!
I use MAC it works AMAZING not to heavy but great coverage and it looks natural!
Q: how long should i press my flowers for? until they are fully dry? and after that i was thinking about laminating them and saving them... would that be a good idea? cus i dont want it to rot inside the lamination...
i wouldnt laminate. it could damage the delicate flower. press them (firmly) until completely dry. could take a couple weeks or a couple months, it all depends on what it is and how you are doing it. just make sure you dont disturb it till its finished. leaving it to be pressed to long is much better than not long enough.
Q: Thanks to the American press Prince Harry will be returning to the uk. Do you agree that the reporter who told the world he was there should be disaplined.
FFS it was an austrailian that leaked it 1st his exposure has endagered others soldiers lives even more than they were already, exposing his location was wrong, but not for his sake, he should be like any other, but his presence is a liability to the other troops there
Q: So after I press my flowers in a book for about a month and take them out, how do I preserve the color?I've read so many answers but nobody seemed to have answered this. I don't expect my orchids to be vivid after pressing them but is there a way to make them fade LESS? Or do they not fade at all once they're pressed? Also, does anyone have suggestions about how to ARRANGE and CREATE something with the pressed flowers? I was thinking of arranging them on some kind of special paper type of thing and framing it because i want to mail it to someone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
hard problem. check out in google. it might help!
