- Q: My cat scratched my hand and as I was sitting there pressing on it, I got to thinking on how pressing on the cut for a little bit stops it from bleeding?
- it stops the blood from exiting the wound allowing it time to form a clot
- Q: I work with a hydraulic press to press flat objects that have a different area. How can something , for example, that is 10 by 10 be pressed at 150 psi and equal 30 tons but the same exact thing only smaller pressed at 150 psi only have 15 tons acting on it? I know we get what Tons it should be by (Area * PSI)/ 2000 What I do not understand is how equal PSI can result in different pounds of weight being applied to an object? Is the PSI whats moving the hydraulic press up to close and the pounds of weight how tight its pressing whats in the middle?
- It is a pressure in POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH. If you relate this to the area of a hydraulic piston, you will get the total down force on that piston. Force x area is what pressure you get, that's correct, so if you applied the total force to this hydraulic piston and fitted a tool of 1 square inch in the press, you would be applying ALL the pressure from the piston to a much smaller area. Say you have a 10 square inch piston area, and 1000 PSI. The total thrust on the piston will be 10, 000 lbs. If you put a tool in this press that has an area of 1 square inch, the thrust applied to it would be 10,000 lbs/ sq in. You are under a misconception so far as the tonnages you are applying in your work. The press will have to deliver greater force on your 10 x 10 inch whatever, you say 30 tons. OK. Now you put a whatever of much smaller area in it, and the press only needs apply 15 tons to do the job. Naturally, that would have to be correct, if you went on to apply 30 tons to the smaller whatever, it would be very flattened indeed! Try it! So less pressure is needed, to deform a smaller area of a whatever to the desired ? Thichness?. It does not relate to the pressure the press is CAPABLE of delivering.
- Q: I'm 16 I weight 9 stone 6 pounds how many press ups and reps should I do to get a bigger chest?
- Until failure. It#x27;s an endurance exercise, you gotta do it until you can#x27;t anymore. It won#x27;t make your chest huge but definetly more chiseled and defined.
- Q: just some ideas, and what are some things that we can do in america that are simple things involving freedom of press but you cant do in other countries or you'll be punished. THANXXXXXXX soooo much
- Yes - then sleazy Billionaires can buy it up and herd stupid people around like geese with their right wing lies. Ah.... freedom. The definition of a printer in the US as it started out was anybody who owns a printing press. In other words, this was THE most radical idea that had ever been put forward. In all the world the press was strictly controlled by kings and princes. But here if you owned a printing press, you were a printer - and you could print anything. It was a huge breath of clean air for the world back in the last 1700's - and it's been copied all over the world since. It was like the best idea that ever happened.
- Q: And I was pressing someone's hair and the image kept fading. Someone said when you dream of hair it means death is that true?
- For those that are willing to walk a path of positive growth, dreams can be an amazingly powerful tool. Pressing hair symbolizes the desire to change the perception of self. It is about a desire to have others see you for more that you are. Why are you seeing this dream? So that perhaps you can use your wisdom to express only your truth without fear of judgement. To be truly and deeply happy one needs to accept self unconditionally and without the fear to express this truth. Why worry how others see you if you are truly happy. Those that accept themselves completely have a positive outlook on life. A happy and positive outlook on life is very attractive. People will look at you and wonder and some will venture to ask what is your secret of success. Hope this helps. By the way, your dream has nothing to do with death.
- Q: I work out regularly and consistently, but I've been lazy about the bench press for the past few months or so. I still work everything else out consistently, I just hate working my chest. I'm gonna start back up soon anyway.Anyway, the last time I benched (3 months ago), my one rep maximum for my bench press was 265lbs. Like I said, I haven't touched the bench since. However, I have been working really hard to improve my military press and have been very successful. I just started doing standing military presses with barbells and in the past 4 weeks, I've gone from my one rep maximum being 175 to 205 with perfect form. Can I expect my bench press to have increased as well as a result of indirect training? Thanks!
- Its hard to say from military pressing, if you're shoulders were weak in comparison to your chest before then its likely that when you go back you're bench will be higher. You see more indirect strength gains from doing upper back work. My bench went up (without benching) when i did lots of rows, pullups and so on. The other thing is that the long head of the tricep will get alot of work from military presses, this could also boost the bench strenght. I would say the determining factor is how your form is on the bench press. If you have a slightly wider than shoulder width grip and keep your elbows pointing inwards slightly then their will be more anterior deltoid involvement and so the military press will definately help. But if you use a wide grip and let your elbows point outwards, then there is alot less shoulder help, and so it might not help that much. Either way its a good idea to give your chest a break and keep your shoulders healthy :)
- Q: I am doing a project for school and i need to give a detailed description of a bench mounted press made by Geenerd. Here is the link to the press
- Arbor presses come in all different sizes and ratings. They are rated at different forces measured in TONS. You can use an Arbor press to (typically used for metal fabrication): Assemble Flatten Cut Mark Straighten Broach Punch Stake Pierce Bend I'm sure that there are other uses that you could find for them but these are the most common. Hope this helps!
- Q: 1) can u list everyone an everything besides newspapers that are guaranteed freedom o the press?2) how can the average citizen ensure his or her freedom o the press?3) what responsibility does an editor of a newspaper have?4) who if anyone should censor what you read?
- 1. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech are pretty closely tied together. Press has been defined by the Supreme Court as any publication that affords a vehicle for information and opinion. Magazines, books, pamphlets, web sites, blogs, TV, anything that is intended to be read or viewed by others. If it doesn't fall under that definition, then it likely falls under free speech. So signs, letters, art work, speeches, things not designed to be viewed as information or opinion. The guarantee is that the GOVERNMENT can't try to control the press. Plenty of other organizations can. Schools, TV networks, libraries, corporations do it all the time. But that's allowed. 2. Make sure that it isn't abused, thus tempting restrictions. 3. An editor has a responsibility to make sure that a story is true in its details, not libelous, doesn't incite riots, isn't on a malicious vendetta against people, and doesn't deliberately expose the subject to danger. 4. Me. I should be the only censor of what I read or watch. But then I'm an adult with a pretty good sense of skepticism.
- Q: Hi i want to press my flowers (carnations) with a big book, any tips ? I heard something about wax paper but i dont have any x]
- The paper on either side of the flower should be acid free.....like you have a stack handy, right? No, I don' thave herbarium paper handy either. So use a paper that isn't slick. Use a couple of sheets, then newspaper. Then corragated cardboard.......that allows the air passage and moisture escapes from the paper. Then pile your book on top. Better would be to make a frame out of lath, 2 of them and put them on either side of the newspaper/cardboard and then use straps to tighten it down. Have the paper exposed completely speeds the drying. The big books will work though. There's even a special glue if you want to mount the pressed flower onto paper afterward. Most of us make do with Elmer's.
- Q: press fit diodes - the one which are used in car alternator Please provide me some info like a link or something :D
- press fit means the outer case of the diode is not wired, it makes its electrical contact by physical contact with the frame of the device it is mounted in. thus only one wired connection is required. make sure you have a diode of the correct case polarity when doing this.
