- Q: the pump is pumping hot wtaer from the hot water tank around the domestic hot water system, i.e to taps and shower.
- These pumps can have their own bearing or they may rely on the bearings in the motor. Most of these are anti-friction bearings that have a limited life. Also if the pump runs dry it can over heat and seize.
- Q: I was wonder if there is a water pump in the out drive, my boat is overheating we are think it could have something to do with the water pump
- So far the only other answer is dead wrong. Your Bayliner has a raw water pump mounted inside the boat. Depending on HP it might be on the front of the crankshaft, or opposite the alternator on the AQ120-140 motors. Then there is a second water pump, which circulates the water through the block. There is no 3rd water pump. None of the Volvo engines have a water pump in the stern drive. I repeat none! The Raw water pump is a rubber impeller. The Thermostat can also be blocked and cause overheating. In some cases it's actually rust/crud that block the exhaust elbows which in turn blocks flow. If you run it on a flush attachment you might be able to check blockages by the amount of water exhausted from the transom/drive. You can edit your question with your specific engine. It takes 7 to 10 min to replace the water pump impeller. You do not have to prime the water pump....ever. Do not however run with out water. Either being in the lake,Bay. ocean, or using the correct flush attachment.
- Q: i wanna use a water pump to pump air...but im afraid that it might burn or sth....
- the pump designed for water will not work very well at all (any type of pump). its effieciecy will be very low. you will have low volume and low pressure. the pump will also be damaged, making it unsuitable to use as a water pump after its failed attempt at use as an air pump. Why dont you find an air blower? if your experimenting you can find one in every car heater system, so check out the car wreckers yard. Car heater air blowers are high volume low pressure. If you want a big unit get one out of a bus! If you want a high pressure low volume air pump you could use an old refrigerator compressor, or a standard air compressor. hope this helps..
- Q: Im having a hell of a time getting the water pumps to work, even when located right next to a water source (i.e. river, lake, ocean, etc). Ive tried various locations and it has never worked for me. ive made sure the game isnt paused and that the pump has power but nothing works. its not as simple to use as the water pumps in the previous sim city games. Can anyone give me a hint? ive been looking everywhere for a definitive answer.
- Depends on the version. Older versions of Sim City you just hook up power to it and make sure it is next to a water source. In more recent versions there is a desalination plant if I recall. Put it next to the salt water then it works. Make sure the plant is right next to the water source because if it is even one block away it won't work. I learned that by mistake. If it is RIGHT NEXT to the water then the source may be too small. You have to try out various combinations depending on the version. One thing though is do not put a regular water plant next to ocean because it won't work.
- Q: I think its the water pump, I fill the coolant with water everyday and it is empty once I make it to my destination.
- Call the shop where you are going to have the work done to get the cost as it varies by area and shop. You really should not be driving it if it's leaking that bad: You stand a chance of warping the head.
- Q: I getting some work done to my like replacing the timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket and the water pump gasket...the mechanic I talked to said I need to replace this as well; my thing is the water pump is fine..should I take his advice?
- What a better time to do it unless of course you are selling it this month. Mechanic is right in saving you money in the future.
- Q: Im half way through replacing my water pump and im stuck...the power steering pump pully blocks access to the final bolt that needs to be removed so the water pump can be removed so i can replace the water pump... any hints on how to get to the bolt so i dont disassemble something i dont need to?
- Not there looking at it but will try and help. Can you use a box end wrench and get behind it? Can you just loosen the bolts on the p/s and rotate it out of your way?
- Q: Could my problem be greater than a water pump or thermostat?
- I would suggest having the computer codes read. If it shows that the Temp sensor is reading too high, then yes, the cause could be from your water pump. Have the Codes read to be sure.
- Q: A circular swimming pool has a diameter of 12 meters. The sides are 3 meters high and the depth of the water is 2.5 meters. How much work is required to pump all of the water over the side?
- Let the x-axis point upward, with x=0 at ground level. Consider a thin horizontal increment of water, of thickness dx, located at some x (0 ≤ x ≤ 2.5). This water has mass dm given by dm = ρA dx where ρ is the mass density of water (in kg/m?) and A is the area of this increment (A = 36π for all increments here). This increment must be lifted (3-x) meters. The increment of work dW is given by dW = gh dm where g is the acceleration due to gravity and h is the distance that the increment of mass must be lifted (which we've seen is equal to 3-x meters). The total work W is given by 2.5 ?∫ g (3-x) 36π ρ dx 0
- Q: is there a water pump capable to pump up to 1/4 of an inchsand from 90' deep well?
- If the sand is suspended in the water then yes there are pumps that will pump it. Other wise no.
