- Q: does it matter what gauge speaker wire to use when hooking up a powered subwoofer?
- actual confident, the speaker twine could desire to continually be twelve gauge exceptionally in case you go with crystal-sparkling sound. and you could desire to get 4 gauge potential and floor wires besides. They sell great high quality audio cables at Walmart.
- Q: I have a grounding wire for my HIDs which I need to increase the length for. How do I do this?
- Get a roll of cable from a shop like halfords and connect together with connector block. Of just connect the original wire to a metal part of the car close to the light. Just have to scratch a bit paint off for a good connection
- Q: I have a buffalo tools 2000 watt generator i have been rebuilding. I have searched for a wiring diagram to help but no luck at all my question is about the wires that come out of the section that generates electricity. Outside of all the resets and switches coming right out of the back of the section that creates electricity has 6 wires coming out. Four are hooked to two different plugs two in each plug one set is red the other blue and the last two wires are separate black wires i would think are negative/ground wires i am looking to know what the red wires and blue wires actually are dc/ac volt i imagine just would like to know for sure don't want to blow anything up and help even guesses will be greatly appreciated.
- Wire colors inside a generator are pretty much meaningless. I've seen green live wires and red ground wires. I suspect four of your wires come from two of the output coils. Each coil will produce 120VAC. They can be placed in parallel for maximum power at 120V or in series for 120/240V operation.
- Q: Is there really a difference between audio wire and regular house wire? If you say yes then please explain, in understandable scientific terms why, or point me to a site that can.
- Audio wire is marked to show + and - if you use house wire just make sure you get the polarisation + - correct. For 120 low voltage high amperage US systems the wire is plenty thick enough, for 230 volt low amperage UK house wiring not so good for a 12 volt system.
- Q: my internet wont pick up my wireless adapter thing now, because the internet box was reseted. How can I change it to wired?
- well basically for wired xbox live setup you need 4 things 1. xbox 360 2. internet connection ( like a bt home hub box or any form of internet box) 3. An xbox 360 4.An ethernet cable which is a two sided wire. ok so put the wire in the back of the xbox in the socket right below where the wired cable would fit. now with the other side of that cable plug it into the back of your internet hub box. Thats all there is to it really then the setting up xbox live is all on the dashboard
- Q: I need help hooking a remote wire to my jvc kd-g220.
- OK I see we have all backyard car audio installers answering car audio question ....there all wrong . Although there methods may work but they are not right an some could cause melted wires an possibly fire. So to do it correctly if you have an aftermarket head unit your remote wire is always always blue/w white strip, never use solid blue avenue though solid blue wire is a positive turn on wire its used for your FM antenna turn on for your radio never use it for remote turn on. If you have factory radio it does not have a remote wire nor does it have a positive turn on (acc) wire on back of radio. Some Chevy's do but most don't so you would have to hook your amp remote wire to your ignition wire which is either a thin brown wire or thin dark green wire which you can get at the ignition switch just look under the dash to ignition switch an follow the wires down to where its easier to work with an tap on. I recommend you use a test light or multi meter to make sure you have the right wire. You might have to drop down the belly pan under the dash to get to it . ever tap onto an existing fuse in your fuse panel. It would work but not good idea since you have different gauge wires in there with different amp fuses , all your fuses have numbers on them for a reason meaning the fuse is protecting a certain amount of current from the electrical componants in your car so if you add another componant to that fuse that means more current an now your fuse can't protect the componant like its attended to do an keep blowing your fuse an could cause melting wires or even a fire. I strongly urge you not to use the tap in to fuse panel method,.
- Q: Okay, i put a cd player in my Integra wrong in the first place an i blew my headlights, dash lights, and taillights. Are there separate wiring harness/ for the motor and interior? I have a B-series, I'm looking at a B-series Wiring Harness online an is that what i need? Or is there a separate interior wiring harness i need to make my lights work again? Help would be appreciated.

- Q: Question about the 3.5mm cable, I cut it open and there are 4 individual wires inside of it. I've only ever seen 2 wires and a loose one. Which ones are right/left and would the other 2 both be ground? The colors are red/green/white/black. I'm assuming the red/white are right left like normal? But I'm not too sure.
- General audio wire color standards: White/Black are ground. Red is Right+ and Green is left+. There are separate wires needed for headphones, and often the ground wire breaks causing the wire to otherwise completely fail. Mono is left only (the tip) + Ground. The wire can usually be replaced with standard 4 wire phone (16-18 Ga) cable, when used for headphone (low power) applications.
- Q: I attempted to change a bathroom fan to a new one with the help of a friend. He disconnected all the wiring without paying attention to what he was doing and what was wired where. We have a set of wires coming from somewhere (I presume the fuse box) to the fan that is hot regardless of the switch being on or off. That has a black, white and naked wire in it. Then we have another wire that comes from the switch that has black, white and naked as well. The fan has black, white and green. Can someone please tell me how to connect these as we have tried everything and the only thing that works is wired to the constant hot which of course won't allow us to turn the fan off with the switch...
- Follow Eaglewatcher's instructions and not only will it work, but you will be in compliance with the National Electric Code. When ever a switch is fed with a black and white cable the white Must Be used as the Hot. And it Must Be Permanently Identified as such. Most of us use a sharpie or black tape to do this. NEC Article 200.7(C)(2) Good luck.
- Q: how i do that?please help.
- it's Hard to saay without looking at it or at least knowing what kind of engine it is and what kind of fuel injection system it has and knowing exactly what you're trying to do. Those models I beleive had 4 or 5 different injection systems. If you can tell me exactly what you're doing or what the truck is doing I could help you more. Sometimes they can be a real *****, on my car you have to practically tear the top of the engine off to even LOOK at the fuel injection system
