- Q: I have two DVC subs and I know how to wire them down to 1 ohm with the wires coming out of one outlet on the box but I don't know how to wire them down to 1 ohm with wires coming out of both sides of the box. Anyone have a wiring diagram for this?
- For okorder /... On the inside of the enclosure, connect both positives and both negatives to the enclosure inside terminal. That makes each side of the enclosure 2 ohms. Mount and screw in the subs. Now, on the outside: 1) Observing polarity, run short jumpers between the terminals (positive to positive, negative to negative) and then connect ONE set of terminals to the amp (again observing polarity) (positive to positive, negative to negative. 2) Run separate wires from each set of terminals to the amp, observing polarity. That makes the final impedance to the amp 1 ohm.
- Q: I bought a single pole dimmer switch to install in my dining room and when I took the old switch out nothing looked right. There are two wires which were joined together by another single wire which was attached to the top screw. There was another single wire (I believe the ground wire) attached to the bottom screw. I disconnected the first two wires and attached them separately to the black wires on the dimmer and attached the ground wires together. It didn't work. I've tired several different times with no luck. I put the wires back the way they were and attached them to the old switch and they no longer work ether. Help! How can I fix this problem? The old wires appear to be a very thick copper covered in black plastic and cloth.....
- The green wire is ground. In a house that old, probably the best thing you can do with it is to connect it right to the steel box. Look for a screw you can loosen and wrap the green wire under it. Retighten. If there are only two other wires from the switch, you should connect one to the black wire and one to the white wire. I don't know why your first dimmer fried. This is a perfectly normal hookup. It should even be illustrated on the packaging for the dimmer, or in the instructions.
- Q: I have a grounding wire for my HIDs which I need to increase the length for. How do I do this?
- Get a roll of cable from a shop like halfords and connect together with connector block. Of just connect the original wire to a metal part of the car close to the light. Just have to scratch a bit paint off for a good connection

- that query is slightly large. It quite relies upon on what you're utilising the cord for. even if that is carrying electric powered contemporary, the insulation will prevent unintentional contact with the present, which could effect in damage to someone or unintentional contact with floor, that could want to effect in failure of the circuit. if you're doing something else, like making a bucket deal with out of cord or utilising it to tie something on your vehicle, the insulation would grant you with a better acceptable grip, which may be better secure in its own correct.
- Q: I have two black wires running to a light switch that I need to extend about a foot. I cannot identify the hot wire because both wires are black and I have no white wire. Can I cap off both wires and then test each with a voltmeter? If the circuit is not complete, will the hot wire still be live?
- Both wires in a switch are in the hot leg. There is no neutral. One is the hot feed, the other goes to the hot wire of the device. If you have a neutral or a ground in the box, you can test for hot with a meter. Touch one probe to one black wire, the other to neutral or ground. If you get ~120V, that;s your hot. Otherwise, the other wire is. If all else fails, you can use a pen tester, but the meter is much more accurate. Hope this helps.
- Q: When I cross the black wire and ground I get a spark. Isnthis normal?
- Well, one of the wires has to be hot, or it defeats the entire purpose! Yes, generally black is the code for the hot wire. White is generally neutral, and green is ground. There are weird exceptions, so don't assume anything about anything. White and green are not the same, by design. There should be working voltage between either of them. There should be negligible voltage between neutral and ground. If you don't know what you're doing, don't work on house wiring with the power on. That stuff can burn you. Burns are the worst injury to recover from, in terms of taking a long time, being painful during that time, and leaving you scarred in the end. On second thought, don't work on it with the power off either. You can hook things up wrong and it will seemingly work until one day it bites somebody, possibly not you. Learn how to do it properly. It is not that hard, but you do need to do the research. It also helps to have a few basic tools like the plug polarity checker.
- Q: How can u do a wire transfer? Is there anything extra that is needed to do this? Are you able to make a wire transfer from your home computer?
- It depends on your bank. Some banks have over their company's Intranet system a template for you to fill out a wire transfer. However, you must check with your bank because I am sure for security purposes, you will have a lot of paperwork to fill out. But this usually applies to Corporate customers. Personal customers like yourself will have to physically go into your local bank. -The branch where you opened up your account to do the wire transfer. Again, for security reasons, you will have to fill out and sign forms and they need to match your signature to what they have on file at the branch- namely your signature card when you opened up your account. Some banks also require you to fill out a wire transfer agreement just to even do wires. So the answer is no. You cannot do a wire transfer over your computer. Once again, depending on the bank, you might be able to fill out a template that the bank might have on their website. But you cannot effect a wire transfer from your own computer. Make sure you have the wiring instructions from the person you are sending the money to. You will need the bank name (bank address is really not needed so tell your bank that- unless it is a foreign wire), the banks 9 digit ABA/Routing Number. The Beneficiary name, and finally the beneficiary account number.- Plus of course the amount you wish to have wired. Once you provide that info to your bank, they will take care of the rest.
- Q: i have a 1995 chevy S10 blazer and i noticed that it has 5? speakers in the door and 6x9 in the back i started looking and i found that it has 4x6 in the dash with cardboard over it but it don't have speaker wire ran for it i think its going to be difficult running wire for it but what gauge of wire should i use? and should i run the speaker wire to the head unit how would i hook the speaker wire to the aftermarket head unit or should i run it to the 6x9 or 5? i already have a pair of 4x6's ready to be installed in it as soon as i find out how to do it and what size of speaker wire it is im going to be doing it by myself

- Wire is not magnetic unless it is iron wire, which is rare. Any wire, when it is wound in a coil and supplied with current, can become a electo-magnet. edit: it is NOT called magnetic wire, it is called magnet wire. Different. Magnet wire is wire coated with enamel for insulation. .
- Q: Hey can some1 help me, on my lamp i have a White, a Yellow wire with tints of green in it and a black wire. on my cord that i am going to plug in is a Blue, brown and a yellow wire
- Run a continunity check on the cord from the brown and blue wires to the blades on the plug. The brown should go to the wider blade, but could be other way around. Then the yellow wires go together. The one (brown or blue) from the wider blade goes to the black one from the lamp. The other one goes to the white wire.
