Q: I recently re-wired my house with 4 wire telephone wire. They all meet in the attic. How do I wire them together and is there some kind of junction plate I can use? Additionally, I did also wire my house with Cat6 wire, but would like to keep it strictly for Internet.: (links just for reference, from search engine results)

Q: the fused ignition wire and illumination wire, i cant figure out where they go on a Dual stereo system model1225 Help. Q: My house is wired for surround sound. The wires coming out of the speakers holes are not labeled as far as i can tell but the wires that are coming out of housing that go into the back of the receiver are labeled 26,27,30,and 31. I cant tell which wires go to which speaker Front Left, Front Right, Rear left or Rear Right. Do these numbers mean anything?: Easy fix: Wire and mount all the speakers, without the grill if possible. The grill will be added later. Get an old 9v battery. Grab the first wire, like 26 for example and strip the wires back about 1/4 inch. and twist each wire. With a helper in the center of the room, tap the wire ends intermittently to the battery. DO NOT KEEP THE BATTERY WIRED TO THE SPEAKER FOR MORE THAN SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. 1-2 SECONDS ONLY. Have the helper tell which speaker is making noise. Have them move to that speaker and take note if the woofer is moving IN or OUT when making sound. If the woofer is moving OUT, take note which wire is touching the POSITIVE post of the battery and wire the speaker to the corresponding output on the receiver. If the woofer is moving IN during sound, switch the wires on the battery and mark the positive. The receiver should remain OFF during setup. Repeat these steps for all the speakers and mark the cables with speaker locations AND positive / negative I.D. with a small piece of tape for future reference. Replace the grills and power up the receiver to set the sound levels. Good luck.

Q: I need to wire a single 120v outlet from the 240v volt wire I use on my compressor. Im installing a 120v electric automatic drain valve on my large shop air compressor. The compressor is wired up with SJ00W 10-AWG, 4-wire power cable (red,green,black white wires). and is rated at 240v @ 15-amp(compressor not wire). The drain valve uses a normal house hold current wiring config. (black,white and open copper)The 240v power supply is the only supply I have near by, (two of them actually) Or I would just wire the automatic valve off an outlet and call it a day. So How do I wire a 120v 3-wire set up from the 240v 4-wire supply? Thanks: If you have 10 AWG wire then you probably have a 30 amp breaker, correct? If so, you can't wire a standard 110v outlet on that large of a breaker. Duplex outlets are only rated for 20 amps. 30 amps and you're into range receptacles. You would probably need to install a sub-panel so you can switch down to a smaller wire size/breaker for the outlet. You could run the red, white and green into the sub-panel as the power source and then install a 15 or 20 amp breaker using 14 or 20 AWG wire to the receptacle respectively.

Q: the sensor part has 4 wires,(2 white,1 black and 1 red)each light has 1bl.and 1white: If all else fails read the directions! Please read the directions that came with the motion sensor/outdoor light. They should have a color code in them somewhere that tells you what each color is and what it should be wired too. If you have any doubts hire a licensed qualified electrician to do it for you. You would be much better off if you don't think you are capable of doing it. If you do think you are capable make sure you turn off the breaker in the breaker box. (Not the light switch on the wall)

As soon as it is gone. It is gone. The bank can not protect you. I suggest using a credit card. If they will only accept wire transfer as payment I would be very thorough on my research into the company and know exactly who I was dealing with. I would pay the extra fees via pay-pal where you have some protection. If he is a fraud and you wire money, you are out the money unless you hire an attorney to help you get it back which will probably cost you more than the 8k. I'd buy local if you can in this instance.

Q: what are the limitations of international wire transfer: Your bank may set a limit on the amount they will allow per wire transfer, but that would be the only limit. My company accepts wire transfers for international business almost daily and there have been a couple of time when I have had to have the purchasing company send a 2nd wire for the balance because the 1st exceeded the banks allowable transfer amount. Of course when that happens you have to be sure that you include the mark up to the customer invoice because you will be charges for each wire transfer by your bank. (some banks don't charge for incoming wires, some do.)

Q: Hi, I'm extending my pc 5.1 sound system stereo cables. I have a M/F extension wire which I will cut to solder a seamless wire to the system. Problem is that in the system cable I have a white, green(or red) and bare wire. and ont he extension I have a black red and white. Which wire do I connect to which?thanks: It doesn't matter as long as you keep it strait, when ever possable connect a white wire to white wire, red wire to red wire etc...if you have like a green wire original but no green extension wire then I would use green electrical tape to color code the extension wire to the same color as the original, you can buy electrical tape in almost any color and wrap it around the wire and connector ends for color coding...
