Q: wires have been cut and i have 4 wires i dont know what do.what colors are for what?: If your trying to wire a aftermarket radio into your car just go to best buy or any other car audio dealer and buy a wiring harness. It plugs directly into your stock wiring harness and on the opposite side has the correct colors of your aftermarket harness that came with the deck. All you have to do is color match and crimp.

Q: I have a universal 02 sensor 4 wire (black, black, white and blue) the stock is white black and grey how do I wire it? thanks :): Keep in mind the sensor has a signal wire, a ground wire and a heater wire (or wires). Good luck!

Q: when wiring subs to different ohm levels, does is matter what kind of speaker wire you use to connect to the + and - terminals? i mean like gauge wise of the speaker wire and such.: Too big of wire is just a waste of money. As Rick said, 12-16 is ideal for subs. 10 AWG would be the maximum size required.

Q: I am installing a GFCI outlet in the kitchen (20 AMP) the box that it is already installed in has more than nine wires running into it. What I need to know is how does one determine the load wires from line wires when there are multiple wires running to an outlet box?: You use some test equipment to determine which is the line cable. All of the grounds are connected together. Identify each of the remaining wires with numbers BEFORE you disconnect anything. After that you can make a wiring drawing of the connection box and device before you disconnect anything. Once the drawing is done you can tun off the circuit(s) and begin the changes. The line/hot wire and it's neutral are connected to the G F I line connections, the load connections are made to protect any down line devices. If you do not need to protect the down line devices all of the connections can be made before the G F I device. If this seems too much of a challenge for you the best solution is to have a qualified professional electrician do the work.

Q: I have 2 wires coming up a conduit. i need to put those wires into a timer and then to my pump. can anyone explain or has a website with diagrams: The timer is just like a light switch, The hot from the power source (black wire) goes to one side of the timer. From the other side of the time it takes a wire to go to the pump. The white (neutral) goes from the power source to the pump. Provided this is 120 volts.

Q: when we connect the amp wire to the car battery we first remove the negative side then connect the amp wire to the negative side and reconnect the negative battery wire thing. is this correct?: there should be 3 main connections other than the speaker outputs. one goes to the battery + (through a proper fuse), one going to a good ground, and the remote turn-on from your head unit (this is what turns the amp on and off with the head unit.) if hooked up properly, it will not drain your battery.

Q: i bought a wiring kit off OKorder it was a bullz 4 gauge kit. and i am running a rockford 500.2 n its rated for 700+ watts. so do you think my cheaper wiring kit is affecting performance? should i go snag up some bigger power wire for more power to run through it or is tht not how it wokrs?: if your wire is truly 4 gauge you will have no problems.the problem is some of the 'no name' wire companies over rate their wire.they will sell 6 or 8 gauge wire as 4 gauge. go to a car stereo shop and ask to see a piece of 4 gauge wire. if it way bigger than what you have you may want to upgrade.

Q: My telephone doesn't work. No Dial tone. When I plug the phone into the box outside the phone works so that tells me it is the wiring going into or in the house. The phone repairman put in a new phone box outside because the old one wasn't accessible anymore (we accidentally built a porch over it) when he did that he spliced the wire going from the old box to the new box. The wires that he spliced hang down under the porch. There are 4 wires coming out of each wire, but only two are spliced together. Should the other two be spliced also? I'm thinking maybe they were but my dog has messed with them. The phone service went down all of the sudden and I don't really know anything else to check. Any ideas?: each phone line uses a pair of wires (2 wires) these wires would normally be green/red or blue/white and solid blue for line 1 and if needed yellow/black or orange/white and solid orange for line 2... you did the first step in troubleshooting to know that the trouble resides inside your home... so when you call into your line does the phone ring busy (or go straight to voice mail) or does it just keep ringing.... if it rings busy (or straight to VM) then there is a short on the line... this is possibly a defective phone, a phone that is off the hook, or a bad jack or wire... if the phone just keeps ringing, then there is a broken wire somewhere...... since the old NID is no longer accessible, you may need to run a section of wire from the new NID to one of the existing jacks in your home to back feed the jacks... if you do this i recommend disconnecting the wire that is going from the new NID to the old NID, as if you reverse the polarity you may end up shorting out your line with the new wire...

Q: I'm trying to hook up my second phone line. I have a red, green and yellow wire in the cable, but no black wire. Is there a reason for this? And what can I do to get the second line up and running? thx: the wire you have is designed for 1 line only. Back in the day the yellow wire was used to carry ground because ground was necessary for old circuits. Ground is no longer needed so in order to get two lines you need at least a two pair wire (meaning four wires) you might have to run a new wire unfortunately or just keep that one and run another to separate jack.

Q: Hi, I'm extending my pc 5.1 sound system stereo cables. I have a M/F extension wire which I will cut to solder a seamless wire to the system. Problem is that in the system cable I have a white, green(or red) and bare wire. and ont he extension I have a black red and white. Which wire do I connect to which?thanks: It doesn't matter as long as you keep it strait, when ever possable connect a white wire to white wire, red wire to red wire etc...if you have like a green wire original but no green extension wire then I would use green electrical tape to color code the extension wire to the same color as the original, you can buy electrical tape in almost any color and wrap it around the wire and connector ends for color coding...
